When do you know your appendix is going to burst?
Pain on low right side, rigidity, rebound pain, fever, nausea, vomiting. If you think you may have appendicitis, get to the emergency room now! This is nothing to mess with...you will die.

im prabably just being paridoid but ive had pain in my lower left side off and on and it never got real bad until i felt a very sharp pain that didnt last long, it mite just be regular period cramps but the pain pretty much just went away afterwords could my appendix have bursted or am i worrying about nothing?

Because of the severity of your case you need to think about everything that you put your body through. You had an infection spread throughout your entire abdominal cavity, surgery which cut through your abdominal muscles, gas to inflate your abdominal cavity, and then a whole fun bunch of antibiotics and such. Your abs might still be recovering. I had this exact same thing happen in august and when I got a job 4 months after surgery I found mopping the floor would leave me with pulsing twitching ab muscles, nauseau, and pain. So I cut back on the mopping and now I can do it alot easier. Take it easy and start with 5 situps every other night one week. Then do 7 the next week. Then try 10 and see how you are doing. It's a long process getting back from this so take it slow.

My sister did way back in 1938. She was eight years old, and it affected her for her whole life. They had no real antibiotics back then. Antibiotics were only available to the military and weren’t available to the public until after WWII. Actually around the 1950’s. So they had to keep her gut open, and sprinkle sulfa powder over her exposed guts for about 30 days. She had a scar on her abdomen that looked like the Grand Canyon, and a scar on her mind just as big.Years later I had my appendix almost burst in 1951. I was 7 years old. They said it was 5 minutes from bursting. Fortunately they got it in time.

Did my appendix just pop??? My lower right side has been hurting a bit, on and off, but not to the point of crying, and I don't knw if it's menstrual cramps or appendicitis. I just heard a audible popping noise and idk if it was some gas bubble in my stomach... Or my appendix? I'm a little doubtful it was seeing as other posts say I'd be dead, and it doesn't hurt yet, it's been about 5 minutes? Appendix pain usually starts in the middle of your abdomen (around your belly button) and then gradually shifts to the lower, RIGHT side of your belly. Plus you'd have a fever and a recent history of diarrhoea and vomitting. Most LEFT sided abdominal pain stems from bowel pain. Or is caused by swollen lymph nodes, often secondary to a recent viral infection. The fact you say it's "the worst pain you've ever felt" suggests it might be a kidney stone. Could be an ectopic pregnancy if you're sexually active. If there's any possibility of that, that's a medical emergency and you need to go and see someone asap. Are you half way between periods? There's a condition, the name is in German but it basically means mid-cycle pain, which can cause really bad pain when the ovum is released. I used to get it sometimes and I was in so much pain I actually got flown from one end of the state to the other by the Flying Doctor! Either way you should prolly consider calling the out of hours doctor (Tel. 111) or going along to your chosen Emergency Department. The surgeons ought to fix you up with some decent pain relief, irregardless of what they think your problem may be. P.S. In the UK you're not likley to get a CAT scan to diagnose appendicitis. Usual practice, if they're still unsure after a physical exam and blood tests, is to go ahead and do a laparotomy (minor exploratory abdominal surgery) and visually check your appendix. Most hospitals will then take your appendix out regardless of it's condition (healthy or not). Hence, if you do decide to go to an Emergency Department to get this pain checked out, you should probably take an overnight bag with you. It'll make your life easier and more comfortable once you get there.

I've already had my period for more than 3 years (im 15) and i never get cramps. all of sudden today my stomach started hurting really damn bad and i could barely move. is it just cramps or what? is my appendix going to burst soon? i told my parents but they told me to stop worrying and that its nothing, and that i should stop bothering them. how do you know if your appendix is going to burst?
