How did your last job interview go?

Dear Harsh Patel,This was my last job I worked for a living, The year was 1999. I went for an interview with a major book seller in the Dallas, Metroplex with multiple outlets throughout both cities. The manager of the book store on Oaklawn Ave. needed a book seller to be a 6 foot, or taller, to be able to lift hundreds of boxes filled with books, which are extremely heavy to be unloaded from trucks. I being only 5′2″ did not qualitied. The manager looked at my resume, and said this is fine; but I need a bigger man than you. Tell me, he said; Where do you see yourself, five years from now?I replied, I’ll be managing a major bookstore some where in Dallas, He said: I wish you luck. I thank him and left.Obviously, that was not my last job. Three weeks later, I answered a wanted ad from The Dallas Morning News, stating that they needed a bookstore manager in a four star luxury hotel.I carried my resume, with three references, The manager was a very refined lady, she interviewed me. Questions about if I was aware of the best selling books of the New York Times Best Sellers, I mentioned about three books, the lady asked me if I had read the books; I said no, that I only read the critics, she said; When can you start working? I replied, any time. This is the place where I met Lady Margaret Thatcher, the Prime Minister of England and other celebrities.I worked at the Exlibris bookstore six years, then I’ve got ill and retired for good!Dear Harsh, I hope this answers your question, and wish you the best in your career.

How did my interview go?

This past Monday, I had a interview with Frito Lay as a district Manager. I thought the interview went well but their hard to gauge. Numerous times during the interview i got compliments on my answers, about being a leader, and at the end the last interview the guy said it was nice to interview someone who had a strong background and could speak to the business. Body language wise it was pretty good as well. With my first interviewer, he seemed really interested in my answers. He sat up straight forward, smiled constantly and it seemed like it was interested in what I had to say. My second interview as well I felt like their was a-lot of attentiveness as well. At the end of both interviews they said that they it was structured interview process, that they would interview all people brought in, and within the next two weeks would be calling a couple of the candidates to come back for the second round of interviews.

How did my job interview go?

Today, I went for an interview for a office assistant role at a law firm. It was with two senior partners. I was dressed to impress (black skirt suit) and prepared (answers to questions they required for the interview), and arrived 10 mins prior to the interview time. During the interview they asked me to run through my resume and said they had asked other candidates to the same. So, I discussed in depth my skills/qualities, experience, etc from my resume. The interviewers then went on to ask a few questions (i.e. "I see you don't have any office experience, while some other candidates we have interviewed have. Do you think you have the skills for this requirement?"). I thought I answered well. Also, they discussed in detail about the job's requirements and daily tasks. Then they asked what I knew about the company - which I answered briefly, and the seemed to be pleased with my response. They elaborated on their company's values, database systems, another employee who did a good job in a similar position to the one I was applying for, etc. They then asked if I had any questions. I asked "What would a typical day in this role be like?" and "What was the management system like?" They responded in detail, happily I might add. Then they asked if I had any other questions. For a moment, I just went blank. I apologised saying that I couldn't think of any more questions and that I was just a little nervous. They seemed understanding about that and asked if I had any other questions for them to just call or e-mail them. I then asked, after a pause, what the next in the interviewing process would be. One of the interviewers (a female who did the majority of the talking during the interview) said that hopefully they'll decide on an applicant by tomorrow and that they'll contact me by tomorrow afternoon, and send out an e-mail with employment details. Also, she asked when I was available and how many days/weeks notice I needed to give to my current employer to leave that job. Throughout the interview, both interviewers were very nice and smiling with alot of direct eye contact with me (we shared a few jokes here and there), and they asked probing questions. How do you think I went? I really want this job ! HELP !

How did your first job interview go?

My first job interview was not that good. I applied to work at this place and a few weeks later I got a phone call from them. I answered the phone expecting they wanted to set up an interview date but I was very wrong.. they wanted to conduct the actual interview on the phone. I told them that would be fine but in reality it wasn't.. I had just had a terrible fight with my mom and I just finished crying and I was also running on 3 hours of sleep. My mind wasn't all there.

I answered so many of the interviewers questions horribly but thankfully she was nice and helped me out with my answers. After one of the questions I could not think of an answer so I sat there for a few seconds in silence, finally telling her I had no idea what to say. Most embarrassing of all.. she asked me how I had dealt with change in past jobs and I went on to explain how I dealt with the money type of change (I told her how I counted the money with a special trick I had learned in school and everything). Obviously, I was supposed to tell her how I had dealt with an unexpected change in my life, not money... she actually laughed at me when I did this... ahh I'm so terrible.

Anyways, I got the job somehow. If you are going to do an interview I recommend you look up practice questions on the internet first so you will be prepared.. unlike myself.

Did my college interview go well?

Trying to "second guess" what went on in part of the admissions process is a totally useless endeavor, unless your goal is to give yourself an ulcer. There is absolutely no way to determine whether there is any meaning behind the fact that your interview seemed different from the interviews of your friends. Maybe they went before a different interviewer who had different opinions about what to do. Maybe the person you spoke to was so convinced that you would be accepted that he didn't consider it necessary to spend a lot of time covering information about you. There is no way to tell. So what should you do? Try to relax, remind yourself that there is a proper place for you in the world, and that you will end up in that place eventually, whether it involves Princeton or not. You cannot control the results of the admission process, so your best bet is to let things happen the way they are going to and not let yourself be too worried about it.

How can you tell you did well in a job interview?

This is mostly based on one' personal experience. Sometimes i finish my interview in 15 minutes with success and sometimes it goes till 2 1/2 hours with no success. The common and most shared secret in positivism is time and the body language of the interviewee & interviewer. The more the interviewer talks the more the chances of getting selected. But still some interviews can go awkwardly. My personal experiences include,1.Interviewed at Deloitte Bangalore for 1 1/2 hour to know that i was rejected for not able to speak hindi. Yes, the interviewer was a north indian and he hated me for some reason. (I was having 4 other MNC offers during that time)2.Interviewed at Mindtree Bangalore for 30 minutes (content and a great interview i willl say) and was selected. So,it really depends on the answers you give and how clearly you communicate with them.Good luck.!

Did my interview go well and how can I tell if I'm going to get the job?

Hi
I work at knotts and had to go through this interview process as well if they do introduce you to staff or ask you about your schedule its a good thing...The reasont hey ask about your schedule right now is because they want you to be totally free in the summer even tho all positions are seasonal...As far as your interview if you answer your questions with personality and a sense of humor theyll love you...what job are you going for and who interviewed you i might know them =D but it seems it went well but yes it will take about a week mine too a couple hours to get a call back but the employment process is heavy right now because everyone wants a job so it takes longer but trust me if you made it to the 2nd interview you already did a good job then most (others get a green card mailed to them) but good luck and im pretty sure you got it =)

Do Ph.D interviews usually go well?

I hadn't thought of this before, but I interviewed a half-dozen professors in person before deciding where to go to grad school and looking back I think only one interview went really well (and that's where I ended up going).  The rest were cordial and informative, and I did get at least one offer beyond the one I accepted (there may have been others, I don't recall).  As to your situation:  remember that you're interviewing them as much as they're interviewing you.  Here is what they're going to be looking for:1.  At a very basic level, how are your social skills?  Do you talk over people?  Do you say anything at all?  (Great way to lose a potential job:  if you're male and an man and a woman are interviewing you and a woman asks you a question, give your answer to the man.  Yes, I've seen this happen.  No, he didn't get the job.)2.  Are there any "intellectual fireworks" going off?  You're not expected to have much factual knowledge about the area, but between the knowledge that you do have and what you can pick up from the interview, are your questions demonstrating that you're able to make connections that the average person might not be able to?  3.  The position for which you're applying will train you to be an independent researcher, which means that fairly early on people will stop telling you what you need to learn and you'll have to figure out how to define this for yourself.  Have you demonstrated any initiative in preparing for this interview that would indicate that not only are you interested in the topic, but you have at least some knowledge and ability when it comes to researching a topic independently?  Good luck!

What should you do when you feel like an interview is not going well?

u have 3 option1: let it go and remove ur furstation . Because sometime when u think that “ ki ab jab kharab jaa he raha hai , toh ache se kharab kar lete hai .” At that point u feel little bit relaxed and u start enjoying ur own reply .And sometime it turns it to a good interview because it shows ur confidence and ur guts to reply like this .2: ask them to give one more chance , if u think that u are not going to be selected.u can ask like this “ WOULD U MIND TO GIVE ME ONE MORE CHANCE .”3: In the end of the interview procedure when u feel that they are not going to ask any further ques. from you or if u think that u replied ‘ NO ’ for maximum no. of ques. that they asked u . then assure them in the end that“ SIR , RIGHT NOW THE THINGS ARE NOT COMING OUT FROM MY MIND , BUT I MAKE SURE , I WILL LEARN ALL THOSE THINGS THAT U ASKED ME IN THE INTERVIEW AND I FAILED TO REPLY , I WILL GO BACK TO MY ROOM AND WILL CHECK IT OUT WHERE I AM FAILING . AND I PROMISE YOU , ONCE U HIRE ME , I WILL GIVE MY 100% TO OUR ORGANIZATION .”sometime interview also select candidates if they think that the person really want to work in our company .ALL THE BEST !!
