Did She Mean A Word She Said

When someone says "word" in reply, what does it mean?

The phrase “word “comes from a few phrases the first being“word is bond”.. it means your word is your bond so anything you say you are bonded to. Its an old black american slang. Many old rappers used it in the 80s or 90s in their lyrics. If somebody said “word is bond” at the begining or ending of a phrase it means they mean 100 percent what they are saying and they are not lying or joking.[Example]:….Did he really say that I dont believe it….- “word is bond. he yelled it in the street everybody heard it”. .. it kind of has the same meaning as “ I swear”..[ex2] are you really coming tomorrow I cannot wait all day if you are not coming, are you really coming{person2}. “word is bond”.It then changed to other forms like word up, or word to the mother..( I swear to my mother) . And even just WORD.“Word up that movie sucked.. same meaning as I swear that movie sucked. . .It then came to also mean I agree. If two people swear on the same topic they normally agree..{example}you are in a group and somebody asks the group.. I heard that movie sucked is that true—[two people together ] “word”So if your text was..” that was the best movie I seen all year”..If the person says .”word.”. it means they agree..or they give their word what they said before was trueIf the text was.. “Your going to come tomorrow right??”And they answer “word” that means they give you their word.Me :Your going to upvote this right.you: “word”.See what I did there?

What does it mean when a girl says that she is gay?

It means that she is gay!Okay, it depends on the situation. Seeing that no context is given, I’m going to be assuming a few different scenarios here.A) She Likes YouYou are also a girl, and she likes you! The girl is interested in you, and think (or know) that you are gay, and that she might have a chance with you. Or, she just wants to tell you her feelings.B) She’s Just Coming OutShe is just practicing coming out and is telling people randomly, that she is gay!C) She Can’t Go Out With YouYou’re a dude and you tried to ask her out. She says no, but not because of you, but because she is gay. (Or maybe she really doesn’t want to go out with you so she resorted to saying that she’s gay. I hope it’s not this;-;)D) You Are Important To HerShe cares and loves you enough to share such an intimate detail about herself.

Is 'same' a curse word?

I am a mother of two kids and my eldest daughter (now 17) is making me alarmed by the amount of times she is using the word same. For example, recently I was making some homemade jam in the kitchen and she came into the kitchen. On her way back from the fridge after pronouncing that we had no food, she knocked over one of our chairs. She looked at the chair in silence for a few seconds and then said "same" and went back upstairs.
What does same mean? Is it a new curse word that I don't know about from that Tumbler website? Should I be punishing her for saying it in front of her sister?

Thank you all so much! God bless

What do guys mean by "ditto"?

I understand that i means "me too" or "I feel the same", but generally, do guys use it as a way of dodging certain topics, or more alone the lines of to hide their feelings to an extent?

THANKS!

What does the phrase "That's what she said" really mean?

This is a joke phrase, a sort of automatic punchline that turns an innocent piece of speech into startling and humorous innuendo. Some examples.“You always give me a hard time.” Ordinarily this means, “You intentionally make things difficult.” But because the word “hard” can refer to the state of an erect penis, saying “that's what she said” (TWSS) changes the meaning to something like, “You like having sex with me.”“It sure is wet today.” Ordinarily this suggests that it's been a rainy day. But because the word “wet” can refer to the state of an aroused woman's vagina, “TWSS” changes the meaning to something like, “I am a sexually aroused woman.”Examples are infinite. So varied is the English terminology for sexuality that almost any statement can be transformed by TWSS. “We don't have time to stop for gas.” TWSS. “I've paid my dues, why can't I come inside.” TWSS.Etc.

Is the words "suck" bad for a 9 year old to say?

Ok, I am in my 20's and MY MOTHER still has a problem with me using the word 'suck'! (and I have a child of my own!)
YOU know what she is referring to, so don't let her use it!
(even if she says, 'oh, that 'sucks'.')

It's an awful word. Don't let the child use that word now, because if you tell her that THIS is OK, then she is only going to get worse.

Do you really want your 9 yr. old daughter using that word in public? Especially around older guys?

When I was a teen I used that word every once in a while, and my mother always had a problem with it. I didn't think anything of it, but now as an adult (and Mother) I see how vulgar that word is. It's not appropriate for a 9 yr. old to use that word, especially a 9 yr. old girl.
You may think it's innocent (and your daughter may think it's innocent) BUT I assure you that if she says that in front of a man, they're going to AUTOMATICALLY think of what she's referring to.
I have an almost 2 yr. old son, and I assure you he's never going to use that word in my home, I couldn't imagine letting a daughter of mine use that term ..

What does it mean if a girl says "iloveyou" as one word?

I think 'I love you' especially over text or aim can be considered a bit intense, so she may have left out the spaces to make it seem a bit cuter or less severe. She still thinks the same way about you, but she was worried about what you would think. It means she doesn't what you to take it as I love you, but rather something affectionate.

It means she's thinking about how you will interpret it, and that possibly - probably - means she likes you! :) x

Is the word "love" thrown around too easily? Losing meaning?

I agree with you that you shouldn't tell someone you Love them till you really mean it with all your heart...but it doesn't bother me when used in play..as Love ya..when someone is leaving...........they are used entirely different and one has nothing to do with the other........just a note I didn't say I Love You to my b/f for 10 months after we met .....
