Did The Cahokians Have Any Gods

Did the Cahokians have any gods?

I may be wrong, but I think the specifics of any religious figures for them is still being investigated. I also think you're talking about the people who lived in Cahokia, which are a Mississippian culture, and might be referred to as Mississippian rather than Cakokian. I know a guy who's an archaeologist, who has done work on Cahokian mounds. He might be the one of the few people on this planet who could best answer your question.

Does God need our worship?

God doesn’t need our worship but we need it , to clarify that I have to speak about the philosophy and the reason of our existence . we believe that God(Allah) created us in order to worship him and make good deeds in this life and Allah gave us the ability of thinking and choosing in order to test whether we will obey God orders or and he promised believers a rewards in life and afterlife and promised non believes by punishment .now worshiping is a way to prove that we follows Allah orders and in Islam it is not only rituals but also following his orders concerning helping poor people , good relation with people , good relation with god as said in Quran in Al-Anaam chapter :”:Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).”So we worship God for many reason . for example because he deserve it because he created us from none . also because that is the reason of our existence and the way we pass the test . also because what we believe is god ordered us to and many other reasonnow Quran clearly says that god doesn’t need our worshiping in the Abraham chapter : “وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ ۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ(7) And remember! your Lord caused to be declared (publicly): "If ye are grateful, I will add more (favours) unto you; But if ye show ingratitude, truly My punishment is terrible indeed."وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ إِن تَكْفُرُوا أَنتُمْ وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ(8) And Moses said: "If ye show ingratitude, ye and all on earth together, yet is Allah free of all wants, worthy of all praise. “I hope that is helpful for you and I advice you to read Quran because you will amazed by the quantity of answers for many question that naturally come to your mind .

LDS: When Lehi & family sailed to the promised land, do you suppose they went east, or west?

They were in Jerusalem, then left the city, then traveled through the desert, then to the shore, then built a boat. Do you suppose they sailed toward what is now the North America West Coast, or do you suppose they went the other way and landed on the North American East Coast?

My imagination always sees them sailing across the Atlantic to land on the east coast.

This leads me to wonder other things too, like are the Mayan temples in Mexico/South America any connection with the Book of Mormon people? How about the ancient mounds in Illinois that Joseph Smith told his wife are from the Book of Mormon people? Quite a geographic separation between Illinois & S America.

And if Mormon buried the plates near the place where the civilizations finally destroyed themselves in war, (modern-day Palmyra, New York), and the plates were buried shallowly enough for Joseph to retrieve them, shouldn't other relics & remains also be able to be excavated near there? Any evidence and remains of the wars & battles that took place?

I was baptized into the church in 1993. I've been a primary teacher, chorister, relief society teacher, counselor, and ward rs president. So my questions I ask here are not coming from an ,anti-mormon" perspective.

Just want to know answers to questions that we know better not to ask at church, for worry of "chasing the spirit away."

Why does almighty God need people to worship him? Is there any logical reason why?

God doesn’t ‘require’ to be worshiped. If He ‘required’ to be worshiped, He would not have created humans. Instead, He would have created only Angels. Angels do not have the capacity to sin. They only glorify God. While on the other hand, humans have been given a free will. You can either choose to be a worshiper or a sinner in this world. But whatever you do here, you will be held accountable for that in the after life. For worshipers, there is paradise and for sinners, there is hell. This life is nothing else but a test. A test of patience, a test of your beliefs. If you are a believer, all this will make sense to you. If you do not believe in God, I am afraid that this might not sound very logical to you.May God guide you to the right path :)

Does God need our worship? Why did he create us to worship him?

To assume God needs anything is a critical misunderstanding of God’s nature. God is, always has been and always will be complete being God. There is nothing He needs that He can't have. That includes us. God does not need our worship. But He does desire it. And He desires it because He is worthy of it. BBut He does not want forced worship. If He wanted that it would be effortless for him to create something that would rattle off endless “worship.” The Bible tells us that God doesn't just love, rather God is love. He personifies love at its deepest levels. And God wants your love to be genuine, not forced. That is why we have free will. He wants us to choose to love Him back. Because we desire a relationship with Him, not because we have to, are programmed to or are threatened with hell unless we love Him.God wants fellowship with us. And the best way He could get someone or something to love Him back was to create something in His image. Since He is love, He created someone to reflect that quality back in a conscious reciprocation. Someone who would love Him on their own. And that someone is mankind.Due to this and an infinite amount of other reasons, God is worthy of our worship sinply for being who He is. And us being His creation, and given a mind and the capability of making a decision to love and obey Him eas the reason Adam & Eve had the tree - it was their way of having free will to either worship and obey or disobey. Sadly, we know their choice.Me personally, I feel I owe God my worship after all He has done. But even if He hadn't done what He had, I still would owe Him worship because of who He is.And one day- and one day very soon, every human that has ever lived will bow before Him whether they believed in Him or not. And everyone will worship Him because if who He is. What a terrible day that will be for those who refuse to accept God in this life.So whether you believe in God or not, you will worship Him for being God. Wouldn't you rather have that day be an extension of your life on earth and worship Him out of gratitude? Because one way or the other, God will be worshipped. For some, it will be a prelude to everlasting life. And to many others, it will be the prelude to everlasting torment.
