They have appeared in the World Series 20 times which is the most of any team in the National league. They are second in World Series titles for a National League team behind the St. Louis Cardinals who have won 11 and they are tied for 4th place overall for most World Series titles with Boston at 8. At any gathering like the one in front of AT&T Park, some of the people there are happy the Giants won, some people don't care that the Giants won and just want to be part of the celebration, and some people just want an excuse to do stupid things. It's that third group of people that initiates things like torching a bus, and crowds are very easily incited to join in behaviors that the individual members of the crowd wouldn't have ever considered.
