Did You Enjoy Stevie Nicks On

What is Stevie Nicks like in person?

Knowing Stevie for 30+  years, I believe I can give you some insight into how I experience her as a  friend and what she is like to just 'be" with.  First let me say that Stevie is one of the most loyal, generous and kind people I have ever known, and on top of that she is as funny and witty as anyone I know.  I say this next bit with some trepidation as I don't wish to sound odd, but working artists are different than people who don't live and work in the arts; yet at the same time they are the same as every body else in life.  They are sometimes grumpy, tired, bored and boring. Other times they are fun, happy, uplifting and positive. I guess what I am trying to say is that we are ALL basically the same. Souls traveling through this life trying to do the best we can and striving to improve to be become better kinder souls while we walk around in these meat suits, hopefully long enough to experience all the stages of life while keeping our fingers crossed that along the way we give love to others  and are loved by others, and we get a smidge wiser along the way. But back to the question...(sorry but I awoke at 2:30 a.m. and am rambling obviously) When Stevie is creating or performing she is a gift from God to be around.   And when she is hanging out on a day off, she is like any other friend you have known for decades. Sometimes I think Stevie is one of the most normal friends I have ever had.  She is a genuinely beautiful and kind soul.

How to sing like Stevie Nicks?

I know that it's possible, because Paul McCartney does it all the time. If you listen to any Beatles song then listen to "I'm Down" you'll know what I mean...

Could I ever go out with Stevie Nicks?

There's really no way to tell from this vantage point. I suppose it depends on (1) whether you know Stevie well enough to make dating a possibility, and more to the point, whether (2a) she's interested in you as a dating partner and (2b) whether she's interested in dating at all. Like Chrys Jordan says, that's rather unlikely. Stevie's nearly 70 (as of May 26, 2018), and is at this point focused on her upcoming tour with Fleetwood Mac, which is widely reported to be their "farewell" tour (though not without some vintage Mac drama, as Lindsey Buckingham recently quit - for the second time - though, it appears, with a good deal less acrimony than the first time around!) It's possible that she's getting to where she decides it's time to retire, at which point we may *finally* get that autobiography we've been waiting for for decades!!! (She's often said that she won't write that book until she retires for good, so.)

How can I sing like Stevie Nicks?

The best way to sound like your favourite singer isn’t to try to copy their sound, it’s to identify the elements of their voice that you like, and then implement a healthy approach to these aspects of singing/their delivery.Stevie Nicks in particular has a breathy and lilting quality to a lot of hear earlier singing, punctuated with a rather fast and obvious vibrato. Breathiness and tremolo are actually both the result of poor technique - if you try to simply ‘mimic’ these aspects of her voice, you will only get half way to her sound, and likely hurt your voice along the way.Instead, for the illusion of a breathy, raspy voice without the risk - it’s important you learn how to adduct your vocal chords properly along with moderating your airflow through diaphragmatic extension, ie: compression.Any good voice coach will cringe at tremolo, as it simply plays no part in a healthy singing voice - as much as I do fancy myself a big fan of Stevie Nicks and her unique sound. Instead, for a similar but healthy and consistent tone you should instead allow your voice to release into natural vibrato, which is in essence the result of healthy singing technique. In short, identify the elements of her voice that you like, and then form an approach to them within the bounds of healthy technique.

Janis Joplin vs Stevie Nicks?

Sorry to disagree with you, but Stevie Nicks is better, as both singer and songwriter {though admitedly, her voice was at its best in the 70s and early 80s}. Stevie actually opened for Janis {back when she and Lindsey Buckingham were in Fritz}, and learnt how to hande the audience from watching Janis perform.

Now, nothing against Janis {I like several of her songs}, but her voice can be very hit-and-miss, and starts to irritate after a while. Also, she is another singer oft remembered through rose-tinted specs, due to her short and tragic career.

Song that sounds like Johnny Cash and Stevie Nicks?

I heard a song that sounds like it's by Johnny Cash and Stevie Nicks (but as far as I can find they never did a duet together). One of the lines sounds like "standin' on the corner, cryin' in the rain". I love the beat of the song, but can't figure out who it is. Any help would be great!

Stevie Nicks VS. Dixie Chicks .......?

You are 100% right, it's a horrible remake and they don't deserve to sing such a good song. The only remake worse than this is the tv commerical that has some chick singing Jonny Cash's I Walk The Line. What were they thinking? Another remake that should be banned is Faith Hill singing Janice Joplin's Another Little Piece Of My Heart.

Did you know Stevie Nicks had 4 abortions?

This originated from a claim Don Henley made regarding Stevie. According to Henley, these were his babies. This supposedly took place in the late 70's early 80's when Stevie was so coked up that it was putting a damper on MY supply.

Stevie was interviewed in VOX Magazine (London) February 1992 where she is asked about this.

She has since cleaned up her life, she is beautiful, and she is still writing music at age 63, when many artists that went down the early path suddenly quit at age 25 or 30. Let's congratulate her for her effort and successes and forget about the deep dark past.

What is Stevie Nicks like? What really happened with Lindsey Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac in 2018 (being replaced)?

Invariably the answers here will likely be from one of two camps: those who are Lindsey Buckingham fans, or Stevie Nicks fans. While I am much more an Buckingham fan than a Fleetwood fan, my general view is that the entire band is a collection of horrifically dysfunctional, utterly incorrigible people who have only stayed together because fame and fortune followed them more as a collective than separately. The entire core quintet has evinced a level of hedonistic self and directed abuse that would kill most other people several times over. Their sexual antics, drug binges, and psychological and physical attacks in public and private are documented in various places (to various degrees of bias in one way or another, but all seem to agree on the vitriol and the lunacy of it all).If one looks at the LB/SN dynamic musically, Buckingham was the conceptual and production powerhouse of the group (this is not in dispute by anyone except hardened Nicks fans who loathe Buckingham) and Nicks was the frontwoman who delivered some of the most memorable stylistic moves the group made (and no amount of apologia from Buckingham hardliners will sell the idea that he ‘made’ Nicks; she is her own musically). But the two of them can easily be seen as severely damaged vessels: both known for being difficult; Nicks as passive-aggressive and petty, Buckingham as self-absorbed and violent. Both drug addled, both constantly bathing in blood from post-relationship wounds that can’t or won’t heal. The rest of the group has done little to make this better. Fleetwood wanting to keep his enterprise afloat has often acted as an eminence grise through the whole thing, with John in tow, and Christine when it suited her.
