Did You Like The Movie Jack Reacher

Is jack reacher a good movie?

Yes its a great movie worth your money/time if your going to the cinema its even better. kindof a Police action crime thriller even though Tom Cruise doesnt portray the real Jack Reacher as described in the Novels he plays the Role Good in a sense that he gives it his own style.

Question about Jack Reacher movie...?

~ He was done eating and wanted his bill

What is your review of Jack Reacher (2012 movie)?

★TL; DR I thought it was a middling good, Tom Cruise action flick, which I would have rated about three stars out of five. That said, I have two big, BIG issues with it, which knock my rating down to one star...and both concern the source material.---------------------First, and most important, this is NOT Jack Reacher! This is Tom Cruise playing a pretty good action character. Every one of the 47 million fans who had a collective coronary when the casting was announced were absolutely right: Cruise is a decent actor, and a believable action hero, but Lee Child's Jack Reacher, he ain't. No way. No how. And while Child himself comes out of the television business and understands the economics of the industry as well as anyone, the fact that he allowed this travesty to happen (and even gamely supported it), really lessens my respect for him as a creator. Compare this to JK Rowling, who understood how important fidelity to the source material is, even given the constraints of the medium. Is it possible to significantly re-imagine a character (and plot and universe and everything else) while keeping the name? Yes, the Bourne series has done it. But there, they were dealing with a three-book arc that was a small part of the author's oeuvre. Here, you're talking about 17 books finished, with hopefully another 17 or more to come, that represent the total universe that Child created around one specific, unusual, detailed character. To completely blow that out of the water in the very first film of the series "just" because they wanted Cruise's box office mojo was, in my personal opinion, a very poor strategic decision.Second, the entire premise of One Shot was the reader looking over Reacher's shoulder as he tries to figure out why the suspect asked for him, when he was just about guaranteed to nail down the prosecution's case. To blow *that* approach out of the water within the first three minutes of the film is, to my mind, somewhere between stupidity and criminality.Ah well. Sic transit gloria mundi.

Who should play Jack Reacher, who is 6'5" and 250 lb, in movies? Surely not Tom Cruise.

The author of the books, Lee Child, has commented on this many times before. The movies Reacher isn’t the Reacher of the books. Consider it a parallel universe or something - like Star Trek is fond of doing every so often.Sure, Reacher is 6′5 and built like a house and Tom Cruise is nothing like that. But it takes a major star to get a movie made and who better than one of the biggest movie stars on the planet to make this happen?Besides, he bought the movie rights so who could actually stop him?Child describes Cruise as having more of the presence of Reacher than the actual physicality which I’m pretty sure most people would actually concur with. If you don’t think about the book Reacher then he’s perfectly suited for the Reacher of the movies after all. And, before I get a wave of “He’s not Jack Reacher” replies, I’d be the first to acknowledge that I did not want him to get the role. I thought Mark Valley would have been perfect - see Human Target (2010–2011) the TV series to see who I’m on about here.I have got over my negativity and just enjoy the two movies for what they are now because, without Tom Cruise being involved, they might never have been made in the first place. Here’s hoping we get a third one.You guys that can’t stick him in the role should maybe take comfort in the fact that it’s a 20+ book series now so it’s bound to end up like James Bond where they recast the lead every few films as an actor ages or leaves the franchise.

In the movie Jack Reacher with tom cruise, who is his beautiful blonde actress who co- stars with him.?

Rosamund Pike.

Will there be a third Jack Reacher movie?

Probably. Unfortunately, IMO. The Reacher novels work as well as they do because they’re well-written, well-paced; there’s plenty of room for description in the character-to-character interactions and especially the action sequences, deliberately slowed to illustrate the strategies and mechanics of combat. (And it doesn’t help the transition to film that many of the books are written in the first person and place the reader in the middle of Reacher’s thought processes.) It’s extraordinarily difficult to translate these elements of Child’s successful written action to the screen. Not impossible, but hard. Very hard. It might help if we had a leading man more in keeping with the Reacher of the novels, but it’s not entirely Cruise’s fault that the films don’t work as well as the books, because few films work as well as the books they’re based on.

Where can I find the movie script for Jack Reacher?

I've searched through google and was unable to find the script through some general script sites. Where can I find this movie script for Jack Reacher? I know it was written by Christopher McQuarrie, I just don't know where to find it.

How is the movie "Jack Reacher" different from the book "One Shot"?

In the book, the shootings were very precisely timed to the target getting off work. In the film, they couldn't have known when or even if the target would pass by.In the book, it takes forever for them to guess Barr might have been framed. In the film this is clear in the opening montage if you're paying attention. The shooting distance (across a river) and breadth are both absurdly much longer in the film.Cruise-as-Reacher is a pig, viewing every pretty girl as an inevitable conquest, and strutting like he knows it. In the books he's a perfect gentleman. The fight in Jeb's bathroom (not in the book) is just 3-stooges-level slapstick. The Rodins (father and daughter) had an established conflict in the book. The book had an ambitious newswoman character and an old girlfriend of Reacher's (now a brigadier general) who each added a lot. There's an extended cat-and-mouse where all the cops and all the bad guys are trying to find Reacher in this small city and he cleverly evades them with those two characters' help. The motive was oversimplified in the film (Oline wouldn't sell) where in the book her husband had been investigating suspected bribery when he disappeared.Sherlock-Holmes types always turn me off because they act smug like they've deduced the only possible solution, while a thousand other possibilities are just being ignored by the author. Cruise's Reacher has this problem, Child's does not.The final confrontation in the book was clever and fun to read. Even when the books are wildly unbelievable they're almost always fun to read. The movie ending was just impossibly dodging bullets.
