Do Australians Have American Values

How do American values differ from Canadian, British, Australian, or any other country's values?

How do American values differ from Canadian, British, Australian, or any other country's values?I think values are a common human thing, but differ only by degree in different societies.Think of American society. The majority of people are hard working, ambitious, educated, claim ethical beliefs, give generously to charities? What could go wrong? Success has glorified an exciting life, strong, youthful, beautiful with every moment worthy of telling others. If you are young, you should have everything right away. You should get the toys and bling and experiences that attract the partner and relationships just like in the movies. But life is not like that for most people. You have to work for them. If you are middle-aged, you may come to realize that life is something different, and you may be already disappointed. Or you may finally get that Corvette or yacht or beach place, but you are now fat, balding, weak and far past ‘getting the girl’.Or maybe you are still young and want that vision now, not later. Working years for it is unattractive, when you can simply steal what you want from others. You can deal drugs, get a gun or otherwise impose your will on others to get what you want today. You have no vision of retiring comfortable with a modest pension far, far into the future.Get the American Dream now! Or if you are no longer young and just disappointed, get revenge. There is challenge in abundance when it is mixed in with gross inequality. And American equality is just more gross than in some other countries.

Why does Australia try and copy America?

Its really strange how Australians try so hard to be Americans. Im from England and we have our own culture, and we think America is developing its own culture, but now Australia is trying to copy it and to be honest it just looks really pathetic, Australia has no way near the money USA or UK has, they are a completely different country, so why cant they be their own country without copying?

What are some downsides of Australian values?

Well….first of all, I don’t think there is any such thing as “ Australian Values “…and what I mean by that is, Australia has a whole lot of values that it likes to think are uniquely Australian, such as mateship, fairness etc….but in reality, Australian values are just variations of the broad Western Judeo/Christian values that many countries also have…so the first “downside” of Australian values, is Australia often thinks it does things better than others…without any proof.Australia doesn’t own any values…good or bad…we just use them as we fit.The downside of Australian values as a whole, is that they blind us to our failings..we tend to celebrate our good bits at the expense of perspective.

Are the values and beliefs of Australia, Canada, and the US more similar to each other than each of them is from the UK?

I'd say that your question regarding the values & beliefs of the people are different for the US & Australia.I was born & raised in Australia and have gone back many times since, I now live in the US for the past 20 years. I can say that the US & Australia are different when it comes to the people, but other areas of similarity would be the cars, homes, shopping malls, big business and other things like that. I think in Australia the people are more laid back, comfortable, friendly, and not so passionate about material things. In the US, it is mostly about competition, freedom to try & fail & try again, big business, capitalism, opportunities, money.I love both countries and would live in either one, but I have to say the US has way more opportunities to succeed than I believe Australia does. Maybe it's the same in Canada & the UK?I cannot speak to the UK or Canada, but I would guess that Canada would be more like America and the UK more like Australia. So I would say the US is the outlier and the other 3 would most likely be grouped together.

Who's more cultureless, Australians, Americans or Canadians?

well all the cultures in the world are affected by other cultures, in this day and age

even in places in asia, or africa, american culture has influenced their culture, for example.

Can an American Dentist Practice in Australia and New Zealand?

Australia and New Zealand are two completely separate countries and what applies in one will not be the same in the other.

For Australia, you will need a work visa as a skilled immigrant and part of that process is to obtain skills assessment from the Australian Dental Council. See the following for full information:
http://www.adc.org.au/ Australian Dental Council

Before you can practise as a dentist in Australia, you will also need to be registered by the Dental Board of Australia. See the following for registration requirements for overseas practitioners
http://www.dentalboard.gov.au/Registrati...

Sorry, can't help with NZ info.
