Do Cons Realize That There Are Simply Not Enough Jobs For High School Graduates That Pay Enough To

High School Military Recruitment. Good or Bad?

Let's see... Boeing, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Lockheed, General Electric, and other civilian companies go to campuses to recruit the best students. Some even offer incentives like college tuition assistance. Colleges also recruit. So do college teams.

But if a guy in uniform shows up, the protesters crawl out of the woodwork, and warning flags go up.

We are not educating our kids anymore. We're training them to answer questions on dumb standardized tests. We teach them to fill out employment application forms. And we limit their options further by preventing some recruiters to come on campus. You don't believe me? Look at the questions posted in homework and mathematics. We're teaching them, "Don't learn to think. Don't learn to read. Don't learn to research. Just ask somebody else to do it for you." Oh, and we also train them not to go into the military. It even carries on to college. Some colleges won't let the military on campus. Why? Because the administrators aren't any smarter than the high school adminstrators.

You wonder why the recruiters are so hard sell? It's because they are trying, in a very short space of a few minutes, to overcome the "recruitment" in the other direction. We call them "murders," "baby killers," "torturers," "war criminals." We call their mission "immoral," and "illegal." We call their chain of command "inept," "incompetent," "criminal." There are people who seem otherwise normal, intelligent people, telling questioners that if you join, you die. Parents say that, rather than serve their country, they'd rather flee it. And all these people profess to be "supporting the troops." So, recruiters oversell. They cannot legally lie, but they certainly take every opportunity to emphasize the good points.

Were military recruiters consistently given the same reception as civilian recruiters on career days and such events, you might see modifications to their approach. But they've been trashed so long by so many... I'd guess it'll take some time.

Should I keep my children in a Montessori school?

I normally never answer featured questions but this will be my only exception, as I attended a Montessori school myself.
It actually was one of the first ones here and considered ideal for every child, all parents wished they could send their kids there.
However, I believe that Montessori schools don't suite to all students, especially nowadays that the system is not the way it used to be and it's mostly the name making the difference from other private or public schools.
Personally, I liked the way the Montessori school worked but when finally finished, I couldn't adjust to a whole new idea of learning and ended up being the worst studend. Needless to say, I didn't even attend college as I merely passed highschool. Maybe the system wasn't for me or I was just too stupid but there were more people who had the same problem.
Of course, lots of others have a successful career nowadays and Montessori school helped them in many ways but you'd better introduce your kids to the "traditional" way of teaching just in case.
Best of luck with you :)

What are Pros and cons of being a teen parent?

Here's a few. You're probably going to have trouble finding pro's, because people are mean, close minded, and judgemental.

Pros:
Younger women have generally much healthier pregnancies than women over the age of 25. Yes, there is a much lower chance of a birth defect of a baby in a 15 year old woman than a 26 year old woman, as socially unacceptable as it it. (most people do not know that)
The small age difference makes it easier for the parent and child to relate.
Younger people have more energy to take care of a child.
The parents, if they live an average lifespan, will be around for a longer period of their child's life.
The teen parents will naturally become more mature and have greater insight into life than they would otherwise.
The parents can use their personal experience to show their child that teen pregnancy does happen, and it's not this rare thing that couldn't possible happen to them.

Cons:
Immense financial stress
The loss of opportunity to persue certain dreams
Lack of knowledge required to be a parent
Role strain (confusion with being both a teenager and a parent)
Criticism and discrimination

What are the pros and cons of early/teenage marriage?

i bet this must be for your essay! ahahaha...

PROS:
-well when we are in our late teens, we are actually at our peaks to have a healthier child.
-secondly, you could be there for a longer period of your children's lives
-alright if you are not planning to have kids so quickly!
-culturally in may asian cultures (long ago), girls wed young once they have reached puberty. marrying early showed that the girl is "wanted" and the longer she stayed single the less chances she has getting married

however much you come up with pros, cons then to stand out simply because its a TABOO to most societies and cultures ESPECIALLY if it occured out of wedlock. But most cons stem from financial perspectives

-if you are not abt to inherit some huge fortune, is isnt advisable to start your own family (since children are getting more expensive)
-if you are DEAD SURE the one you are marrying is the one for life. dont always think divorce is an option. failing many time (be it marriage or anything else) can hurt your esteem
-marriage is not just you and your lover but also a marriage of your families so PLAN AHEAD
-marriage could actually hinder a lot of plans that you could have four yourself. If you think that you are ready to forgo some then it's your call..

cheers~hope it helped some way....

Can I become A Veterinarian???I don't think I am smart enough! Help!?

I adore animals with all my heart, I have volunteered here:http://pets-inc.org/ for going on five years, I really want to become a Vet.
But I am starting to think I am not smart enough to make it, I have a GED instead of a diploma on the GED it says diploma but I don't know, I left high school to get my GED because I was being teased(not the skinniest girl) graduated on time class of 2009.
But when I was in HS my grades weren't good because I skipped ALLOT of days to avoid multiple people who like to pick on me. When I was in school I was good friends with all my teachers never in trouble, but I kept to myself most of the time.
I have ADD(not good at math), and my IQ is 112, so do you think I could become a Vet??? or should I aim towards making a career at McDonald's?

What is are some valuable majors that are NOT STEM majors?

If you think you're going to find a high paying job with a "non-stem" major, you are dreaming. I have news for you. Nobody is born good at math. You get good at it through hard work and practice. Engineers make more money because (1) it's more difficult to get an engineering degree which results in a lower supply, and (2) because engineers actually make things that people want which means higher demand.

"Not being good at math" is just a typical excuse that lazy people use because they don't want to put in the hard work.

And what's really funny is that engineers ultimately end up with easier lives because they usually love what they do and because they have higher financial security. All we had to do is put in two or three years of hard work in college and then it's smooth sailing after that. People like you are willing to slave away at a crappy job for the rest of their lives because you weren't willing to grind out a few years of proper college.

Go ahead and keep dreaming about that high paying, non-science job. Just more money and less competition for us engineers.

Oh, and if you think I'm just full of it, just go read the latest employment statistics. Specifically median income and average unemployment by major.

Edit: So rather than going with statistics, you'll go with you're baseless, non-sense assumptions? I can tell you right now that there's no shortage of engineering jobs and isn't going to be anytime soon.

Not like you'll listen to anything I say anyway. My reply isn't sugar-coated enough for you. I'll leave it to the liberals to coddle your feelings. Let me know how that job search goes.

Edit 2: It doesn't look like too many people agree with you, buddy. But that's ok. You just go ahead and keep hope alive for all those other liberal arts majors out there. BTW, do you want to buy a bridge?
