Do Contacts Normally Make Up Close Vision Worse Fora Nearsighted Person

Do contacts normally make up close vision worse fora nearsighted person?

It would help if you gave the contacts and glasses prescriptions, but it could be that the contacts are a bit too strong which can mess up your near vision. Normally, for young people, the glasses or contacts could be quite a bit stronger than they should be and you should still be able to see close up with them because of a very wide range of accommodation for young people, but there are probably exceptions. As for the clarity not being as good as with glasses, for some prescriptions, they can't do quite as exact a correction with contacts as they can with glasses. It is also possible they messed with the prescription a bit so they could give you regular contacts instead of the more expensive toric ones. Anyway, you probably ought to call the place where you got them and arrange to come by and have them double-check everything.

Can distance eye glasses worsen a nearsighted person's eyes?

The generally accepted theory is that, for some people, as the grow (particularly in adolescence) the eye balls become "too long" (nearsighted), or "too short" (farsighted) also, sometimes the cornea becomes a bit mis-shapen, leading to astigmatism which can happen by itself, or along with either of the previous conditions. The cause is considered to be primarily genetic, there is a strong tendency for these eye problems to run in families.

As for: does wearing glasses cause it/make it worse. Everybody starts out in life WITHOUT glasses, some people's eyes go bad & they get glasses, but they were NOT wearing glasses when it happened. It is believed that the rapid growth during adolescence is what causes it to get worse as, for most people, their vision stabilizes in their early 20's when they stop growing, (even though they continue wearing glasses after this age). They have even found cases of fairly severe nearsightedness in very remote, primative tribes that never wore (or even heard of) glasses.

One thing that makes it seem to some people like glasses make your vision get worse, is that, when your eyes go bad, it happens pretty gradually, and your brain gets used to the blur, so you don't notice it that much. When you get glasses, your vision is instantly much better and your brain gets used to the clear sharp image. When you take them off, the image is instantly blurry again, so you really notice it and it seems worse than before you put on the glasses.

Anyway if you have glasses for ordinary nearsightedness, you can wear them as much or as little as you want and it won't hurt your eyes*.

*Note: there are a few eye conditions (such as lazy eye) where, for sucessful treatment, it is essential to wear the glasses as directed, so, if your doctor is saying "wear your glasses or something dreadfull is going to happen", I suggest you listen to him.

Do glasses/contacts really make your vision worse?

Oh, how i hate this question! (no offense intended! :) ) No, glasses and contacts absolutely do not make your vision worse. They correct your vision to where it is supposed to be. When you take them off, you are seeing what your eyes actually see. Before you started wearing correction, you thought your eyes were fine because that was normal for you. Now that you know what normal is, your uncorrected vision just FEELS like it's getting worse. And yes, your vision can change that quickly. Your vision will not stabilize until you're in your mid 20's or so.

If you are near sighted do contact lenses distort your near vision?

I didn't have a problem with this when I was younger. I could see pretty well close up with contacts lenses but not quite as good as I did with glasses or without any sort of corrective lenses. Now that I'm in my late 40s, I find that I really can't see that well close up with contact lenses on but I can still see just fine with glasses or without anything at all. From what I've read, being nearsighted does delay the onset of presbyopia in older people. I don't need reading glasses and I'm sure glad I stood my ground with my eye care specialist and wouldn't get bifocals even though he tried to talk me into getting them.

Im Nearsighted and my glasses make things up close blurry. Why?

There are several methods to improve quickly and naturally eye sight... To know how to do that you can find here a compelte method based on researches done by some scientist, for a cheap price:

I can give you just some tips but I suggest to give a look to the method that i posted above...for example you can take more food that contains vitamin A such as carrots may help to naturally improve your eye sight. We can also always do exercises. There are exercises such as rolling your eyeball to form an invisible square that are always recommended by the doctors to improve one's eyesight. I don't know about quickly as there is no fast way to reach one's goal.
Vegetarians can help to improve one's eye sight. I believe it because I am a vegetarian and my eye short-sightedness power remains the same without any increase after about 2 years. The doctor was shocked because teenagers at my years will usually have a most increase since we are always watching TV, playing computers and also reading. I do not know whether it is totally true or not but it does affect a bit on the result.

Anyway i suggest to check the link that i posted :) It worked for me
Hope it helps.

When should a nearsighted person wear his/her glasses? I have a light prescription. If I wear them all the time, will it affect my vision?

Hello,I am not very sure how light is your prescription, but I can assure you it will not affect your vision if you wear them all the time. However, do note that frequent visual breaks are advised if you work on intermediate or near work for long periods of time. Example of intermediate or near work will be reading, writing, drawing, computer work, sewing, etc.Long periods of time would mean any thing from 2 hours onwards.I would advise on the 20–20–20 rule which would be every 20 minutes to see something far away (20 feet) for 20 seconds to relax your eyes.Usually it is not the prescription that affects the vision if you are nearsighted and wearing the prescription all the time, but the environment that you are in that causes it!Hope this helps.

What would happen if a person with normal vision were to wear prescription glasses?

A young person (before onset of presbyopia) has a typical accommodation range of 10 diopters. That means you can focus from 10cm to infinity. If you wear -3.00 prescription lenses, you will no longer be able to focus as close as 10cm, but closest will be 14cm (=1/(10.00–3.00)metre). No big deal but your eyes will work a little harder to focus. Reading will be like holding a book unnecessarily close to your face. If you wear -10.00 glasses, though, you won’t be able to focus on anything.

Will wearing only one contact affect your vision for the negative?

This depends if you need cerection in both eyes and you only ware one it could make the vishion in the ether eye to get worst because of lack of focuse Your Brain take an image from both eyes and makes one picture, they also the two eyes new to be corected to focus for good vishion. If you lose one contact and hope fully you can stay home cover up one eye so it will not try to focus because it will throught the good one off, cover the one eye and the good one will operate alone. Ware glasses if you have a set. If you ware glasses and one lense falls out and it will not go back in tape up the that lense so that eye can not be used an un corected eye with a corected eye you will not have god vishon and get the glasses fixed. This depends on how long you with out the lense there is no sence in haveing bad eye sight or headaches.

Does wearing glasses make your vision worse?

I was wondering that myself. Perscriptions change so it's hard to tell if my vision keeps getting slightly worse every couple years because that is what it is just going to do until it stabalizes (usually around the age of 25) or if wearing the glasses is allowing your eyes to become more and more lazy. Now, I need glasses all day so for me that is not the case, my eyes are just bad anyway. I do know that when I wear a perscription that is lower than mine my eyes work harder and the muscles get tired which may actually cause further damage. I have no experience with your situation though. Your eye condition is probably pretty stable and won't be changing unless something in your eyes physically deteriorates. And taking into account what I said about muscles working too hard, it's probably better for you to wear the glasses when you need them. If you're really worried, eat more carrots :) They can help with vision.

Will my eyesight return to normal if I stopped wearing my glasses? What if I don't wear my glasses for a year or so, will my eyes adjust and repair itself on its own, or are my eyes permanently damaged, making me nearsighted forever?

yes. Eyes can cure themselves only when we stop wearing glasses. If we wear glasses, they cannot cure, they remain in that state of sight only .If you want to slowly cure your high shortsightedness of 3 ,3.5 ,then go on reversing the process. When we go to doctor checkup yearly, they go on increasing some points, with addition to slight increase in our sight to appear better,in that way we are ignorantly increasing our eysesight year by year .So now onnwards you should not go to doctor, let reverse the process, collect all slips of previous years checkups, try to bring glasses of less sightedness of your preveious years check ups. suppose if you have 3 eyesight at present ,leave it and go to previous ones of less that this one 2 etc use those spects for some montnths, then your eyes adjust to that , follow ayurvedic remedies to improve eyesight. later go on decreasing the sight by previous check ups . it will slowly cure our eyesight.when you have less sight, then there is no need to wear glasses, throw away them ,do your duties without wearing glasses.Remember that, your should not wear glasses in order to cure your eyes sight, if are without glasses for some months , and in a curing process, then you should never wear glasess of hight sightedness in the middle, because,if you wear ,then all these days of curing your eyes wasted and your eyes again adjusted to that glasses of particular sight . it is better avoid spects for ever, only wear in very need ysituation that too for short time, if you have less light of 1.5, or below 2 ,you can able to work without glassess , so leave glassess for ever, follow ayurvedic remedies to cure eysight , then your eyes can slowly cure theselves. In addition to this Avoid, smartphones at latenight in running bus, aviod watching tv withn near distance,.If your spent more time in 3D view like open areas, surroundings, greenery ,your eyes will get cured quickly. Mostly avoid 2D viewing like, operating phones,tv,computer etc, avoid looking into sky ,bright sun
