3 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 bay leaf
1 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
1 (5 pound) rump roast

Combine water with salt, ground black pepper, oregano, basil, onion salt, parsley, garlic powder, bay leaf, and salad dressing mix in a saucepan. Stir well, and bring to a boil.
Place roast in slow cooker, and pour salad dressing mixture over the meat.
Cover, and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours, or on High for 4 to 5 hours. When done, remove bay leaf, and shred meat with a fork.
Serve on hoagie rolls.

1 tablespoon chili sauce
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup butter, softened
8 slices rye bread
1/2 pound thinly sliced corned beef
1/2 pound sliced Swiss cheese
1 pound sauerkraut

Preheat oven broiler.
Mix chili sauce and mayonnaise until smooth. Spread mayonnaise mixture and butter on bread slices. Layer corned beef, Swiss and sauerkraut on 4 slices and top with remaining slices. Place on baking sheet under preheated broiler and broil until browned, turning once, 2 minutes.

2 tablespoons chopped red onion
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

1 English muffin, split
1 large egg
2 strips OSCAR MAYER Ready to Serve Bacon
1 KRAFT Singles

PLACE 1 English muffin half on microwavable plate. Crack egg carefully on muffin. Microwave on HIGH 40 sec.
FOLD bacon strips in half. Place folded strips and Singles over egg. Top with remaining English muffin half.
MICROWAVE on HIGH 30 sec. or until egg white is completely set and yolk is thickened around the edges.

Emeril's Favorite Fried Egg Sandwich

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
2 slices white bread
1 slice ham
1 large egg
Pinch salt
Pinch ground black pepper
Optional ingredients of your choice

Spread 1/2 tablespoon of the butter on 1 side of each slice of bread (3/4 teaspoon butter per slice).
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the buttered slices, buttered side down. Push the bread to the side of the pan and add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon butter to the other side. Add the ham and egg to the buttered side of the pan, and season the egg lightly with salt and pepper. Using a spatula, pierce the egg yolk so that it runs. Cook until the egg begins to firm and the ham browns, about 30 seconds.

Using the spatula, flip both the ham and the egg and cook for 30 seconds. Stack the ham and egg on 1 unbuttered side of the toast and top with the other slice, buttered side up.

Place the egg sandwich on a plate. If desired, top with grated cheese or other toppings, and serve immediately.

How do i make a simple chicken salad?

Simple Chicken Salad:

Dice up cooked chicken, add chopped sweet pickle, onion (optional), boiled egg (optional), enough Miracle Whip to make right consistency, and a little salt (test taste) and you're ready.

The reason I specified Miracle Whip instead of Mayo is because Miracle Whip has a better flavor for making chicken salad or egg/potato salad.


Egg Salad:

Use as many boiled eggs as needed for the amount of egg salad you are wanting - depending on number of people.

Peel eggs, mash in bowl, add chopped onion (optional), chopped sweet pickle (optional) and Miracle Whip to blend to right consistency and salt to taste.
(You can use this same recipe for deviled eggs BUT cut the boiled egg in half (length-wise) scoop out the cooked egg yoke, mash then use the recommended ingredients used in "Egg Salad". Then use ingredients to fill the halved eggs. You will have more than enough - then to add color, which is also optional, sprinkle with paparika.)

Potato Salad:

(I prefer my potato salad made out of REAL mashed potatoes - no lumps but if you want the chunky potato salad do the following:

Peel potatoes, cook over medium heat until done (check regularly - do not overcook), drain water, mash a little with potato masher.
Add chopped onion, chopped sweet pickle, diced boiled egg, Miracle Whip, mix and salt to taste.

The reason I state using sweet pickles and chopping them is because they have a much better flavor than going the short route and using sweet pickle relish.

I'm sorry I am not giving the amounts to use but these recipes have been in my family for three generations and it's just natural for us country people, who make each of these on a fairly regular basis to use our common sense and adjust the recipe to consistency and taste. Just experiment. Really, you can't go wrong on any one of these.

Turnips - 2 medium sized cut into small pieces.3. Onion -1 medium sized finely chopped.4. Tomatoes - 2 medium sized finely chopped.5. Sunflower oil - 10ml6. Green chillies 4-5 slit.7. A small handful of curry leaves.8. Black mustard seed - 1/2 tsp9. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp10. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp ( optional)11. Salt to taste.12. Turmeric powder - 1tsp13. Garlic -2-3 cloves crushed14. Small knob of ginger crushed.15. Handful of coriander chopped.MethodIn a pan cover turnips in cold salted water, bring to the boil and simmer until tender. In another pan heat oil and when oil is warm add the curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Fry for 30seconds until the seeds began to pop. Add the onions and turmeric powder. Fry for 8-10 minutes. Add ginger and garlic and green chillies. Fry for a further one minute. Add tomatoes and cook for two minutes. Now add cauliflower and seasoning to taste. Simmer the flame and cover cook. Add cooked turnips for final five minutes. Sprinkle coriander. Serve with hot chapatis.Tips and tricks.Add the mustard, cumin seeds when the oil is warm and not hot. If you add them in hot oil it will just give a burnt taste.
