Is Earth mentioned in the Star Wars universe? If so, how is it related to everything else?
I feel like some people missed some stuff. Here what I’m writing is Canon, meaning it’s accepted right now. Short answer it happens 150,000 years ago and 3 Million light years away (The Andromeda Galaxy to be exact). THIS I REPEAT IS CANON. I’ll explainEverything that is happening or happened in the Star Wars Galaxy is being recorded in the Journal of the Whills. The Whills are a weird energy type beings who watch and record everything going on. You can actually see the Book of the Whills in the “last jedi” meaning Luke has it. This book will be passed down throughout the Star Wars history and eventually somehow it will reach our Galaxy and we are just watching the History of this Galaxy through the Book of the Whills. Which means a bunch of Humans traveled from the Star wars Galaxy to our Galaxy with the Book of the Whills.Hence what is happening in Star Wars happened a long time ago in somewhere far away, and humans from the star wars galaxy are actually our Ancestors. This is canon. If you infer even farther you can go that midicolorians are actually our miticondria (which lucas has stated) and since we all have an genetic eve, the Star Wars universe occured 150,000 years ago because modern humans arrived on earth 150,000 years ago.So that’s your time frame going by what is Canon 150,000 years ago.Now for how far away. This is also Canon. ET aliens or Asogians are in the prequels, check the senate scene. We know their home Galaxy is 3 Million light year away from Earth. So by that we know the distance. And that is Andromeda.
What could be the first crime to be committed on Mars?
Larry Niven once speculated that it would be murder. (“How the Heroes Die”) It makes sense. I won’t give away the rest of the plot; you should read it and see how Larry develops the idea. It’s a pretty good short story.But it’s easy to imagine how even a trained, seasoned and perfectly balanced astronaut could go crazy fifty million miles from home and try to kill someone in the rest of the crew. Don’t think for a moment that NASA hasn’t considered the possibility very carefully. That’s why our astronauts, male and female, are psychologically tested with great precision, endlessly. When there are billions of dollars of hardware and irreplaceable human lives at stake in any mission, they want to make damn sure nothing goes wrong. Consequently, our astronauts aren’t just sane, stable human beings, they’re hyper-stable. You could fire a gun off next to their ear while they’re in the middle of a task and the most they’d do is blink. Remember, these are men and women trained to try A, B, C, all the way to Z in an emergency, because that’s the Right Stuff and nobody goes into space unless they’re absolutely dependable. In the book and the movie, The Martian, Mark Watney keeps his mind off the boredom and terror by working endlessly on survival and that’s exactly what NASA wants from our intrepid star-travelers. When we do plant a base on Mars, rest assured there will be lots of things to keep their minds occupied besides endless work to prevent such tragedies.Let’s just hope it isn’t disco music and re-runs of Happy Days.
