Do I Call Back After Getting Hired

How long after an interview should I call back to find out if I got the position or not?

It is a couple of ways to do this. First of all, if they say that they would get back to you in 24 hours and did not. You need to call them within 48 hours. This is what you say, Tell them your name and tell this that you were calling to find out the status of your application process and remind them when you interviewed. Another way is the "thank you" card that I mention often. Many people do not do this because they think it is corny. But this is a way that you will not be forgotten. Send a thank you card thanking them for thier time and mention that if no position is avaliable for you at the moment that you hope that they keep you in mind for future positiions.

Someone said, never call. That is WRONG. ALWAYS call. The simple truth is in today's economy, competition for jobs is stiff. They need to see that you really want this job.

If they say that they have chosen another candidate, then so be it. If they do not say that. Wait one week and call them again. Call once each week until they either hire you or go with someone else.

Find out how long that they keep applications on file. If they went with someone else make sure that they know that you are open for other jobs. Then call every 2 weeks once until your application has expired.

Remember that they interviewed you and you are a person of interest. Now you have to show them that you really want this job.

****Remember ALL companies want to know that the person that they are hiring, really wants the job. They also want to feel that the person that they are hiring is going to be a vested employee. (Working for them for years to come) Employee turn around causes companies millions of dollars a year. Showing that this is something that you really want, looks better to any prospective employer***

How long does it take for KOHLS to call you back after you have taken the drug test?

OMG,

Doesn't surprise me, this all happened this summer for me,

they called me back 12 days after the interview toi tell me that i was hired and that i needed to tkae the drug test within 48 hours, so i did.

and that to show up a week later.

so i did after the second day i was like WTF am i doing here, the second day i worked TWO hours at 30 cnets above minmimum wage. and talking to other people that worked there thye say they will rarely give you more than five hours in a day, HeLLO, gas $3.79 per gallon.

so i quit, and i still a week and a half later have yet to be paid.

I have elevnn years reatial experience and they also if you work the registers to get one credit application for every one hour worked, which is impossible, cause i have lots of experience doing it.

I talked with one guy there and he said that unless you get like 6 or more credit apps per week, they will be on your case all the time.

Do employers call back after interview?

I disagree with the other 2 people who answered. At this point there's no way to tell if you'll get the job or not. Many times employers have more applicants lined up for interviews and they want to wait to make their decision, but that doesn't mean you don't have a chance. If the end of the week comes and you don't receive a call you can call him and say you are still interested in the job and wonder if he's made a decision yet. That will let him know you are serious about working and could give you a better chance of getting the job. The ones not hired won't get a call.

How long do places usually take to call you back after turning in job applications?

I would not wait a week. I would give it 3 days tops. You have to be aggressive and stand out. My daughter thought I was crazy, I told her call call call. She finally did and guess what?? They had forgotten about her, when she called they pulled her app out. She got an interview the same day and was hired. If they have tons of apps, yours can get shoved to the bottom. If you are the only one that calls, they dig it out and now its on top. ALWAYS follow up. What do you have to lose? just a phone call. It shows you are eager, and a go getter and take initiative. It may only be retail now, but one day it will be for a bigger better job.

How long will it take for American Eagle to call back after an application? PLEASE HELP! Read more..?

So last week i applied to American Eagle. I talked with the manager, and he gave me an application to fill out and basically was asking me why american eagle is a good job for me. 2 days ago i called in to follow up on my application, asking them what the status of it was. The manager was not there, so they took down my name and number and said that i would get a call the next day. The next day i waited until around dinner time for a call, but did not receive one. I really want this job, and i don't want no for an answer so i decided to give them a call. I got to talk to the manager this time and he asked for my full name, and then said that he did not have my application. He told me to come in and fill in another application. So i went in today, and basically said how i called in yesterday and i was told that they didn't have my application and gave him the new one i filled out with a cover letter and resume attached to it. I spent quite a bit of time on this cover letter, cause i really do want to have a job at American Eagle. Now i feel like i'm not confident anymore. I don't even know if they will actually take a look at it cause when i gave it to the manager he just flipped through the pages i gave him and nicely said thank you. Now i don't know what to think. Am i going to get a call back? Should i call back again in 4-5 days? I really want this job, but i don't want to go through the whole process all over again.

I called Whole foods before Xmas, guy said they were hiring after Xmas, is today a good time to call back?

Heres the situation,

I applied to Whole Foods in Early September. Back then I wasn't serious about getting a job, if they hired me I would work but I wasn't really looking to get one. I called to see if they were still hiring cashiers in Mid December, the guy said after Xmas. Should I call back today (Monday)??? Do you think they still have the application I filled out (Online app)??? It lasts 6 months, I tried to reapply but on the website it won't let me. And lastly, what should I say? Just explain what I typed right now?

Thanks in advance

I called a job and put in an application 2 days ago. Should I call back and ask if they have seen my resume?

I wouldn't. Let a week pass to allow the company time to review your application. Chances are, they'll gather data for weeks before making a decision. If you have done something outstanding that directly correlates to the job you've applied for, but is not included in your application, then by all means, call up and ask if you can send them an updated copy of your res. It's a bit of a trick to get your application at the top of the pile and at top of mind. IMHO - the best way to get a job is to network with friends, family, and classmates, professors, and old co-workers who can personally recommend you the CEO or a Board Member of a company. Coming in from the top down is THE way to get hired. If the CEO personally hands your res to HR - believe me - you're at the top of the list.Best of luck,S
