Do I Have A Masculine Face

Do I have masculine face features?

You know, I don't know what's more disturbing anymore...is it the animated photo or your question?

Can I make my face more masculine by chewing gum?

Sadly no. The muscles within your cheecks are "filamentary" muscles. Very similar to the ones that protect your spine. They don't grow at all, however the strength of them will increase slightly. But don't chew gum 24/7. Because much like regular muscles, they do wear down, and your jaw muscles have a extremely hard time absorbing protein to repair them. Usually the tuarine and glutamine proteins that your bones from your jaw and skull, are the main "repairer" for your facial muscles. So don't overdue it, others wise you'll be hurting for quite some time.

Why do women's faces become more masculine with age?

Why does a woman's face become more masculine with age?
I heard that women's faces become more masculine with age. Why do their faces become more masculine with age? How does aging make their faces more masculine?

how does saggy skin make the face more masculine? losing the elastic of the skin is a bad thing- but is it really masculine??

Do women who look/behave more masculine face less discrimination than women who seem more feminine?

My personal experience says yes:I cut my hair very short at some time in college, and never grew it past my collar since. I dress in a masculine way (to the point where I'd frequently be called 'sir' by strangers, followed by profuse apologies when they noticed ). I was formally diagnosed with ADD but I suspect I'm also on the Asperger spectrum. This gives me a few stereotypically male qualities  - don't talk much, not detail-oriented, prone to hyperfocus, not attuned to social cues, thick-skinned. I don't apologize much, I take up space, I interrupt. I don't emphasize my sexuality and tend not to be sexually available to men.It seems to me like people don't question my competence as much as they do my peers who happen to behave in more feminine ways. I can't tell if I face more hostility than others do, but I doubt it. We all get hit hard in that department, and I am well-liked in my circles. I am quite aware that there might be sexism going on that I haven't picked up on. Occasionally someone has said something that I took at face value at the time, and realized was sexist weeks later. Maybe there are more revelations on the way.But it makes sense to me that I would face less discrimination, since a lot of what women face is due to their having been socialized to be meek, submissive, sexual, etc. If the socialization failed on me, I would think it would be an advantage.

Are most women attracted to men with overly masculine faces, overly feminine faces, or in-between? What influences their preference?

The predominant view in psychological literature is that women prefer more masculine faces, as well as the scents of more symmetrical males, but only during the most fertile part of the menstrual cycle (see Preferences for variation in masculinity in real male faces change across the menstrual cycle: Women prefer more masculine faces when they are more fertile symmetry and attractiveness). There is also evidence that both sexes find more feminine and neotenous (young looking) faces more pleasant most of the time:  "Increasing masculinity was found to decrease perceptions of co-operation, honesty, and parental ability, whereas feminization increased the attribution of these traits" -(Page on stir.ac.uk).Despite the fact that these are currently the most widely accepted positions, I would caution against taking them at face value. It can often be more illuminating to look at opposing positions and see if you can deconstruct them, instead of just taking the most widely believed view for the truth.  Here are a few papers by CR Harris et al, that argue that there is not good evidence for a preference for masculinity:-Shifts in Masculinity Preferences Across the Menstrual Cycle: Still Not There. -Humans, Deer, and Sea Dragons: How Evolutionary Psychology Has Misconstrued Human Sex Differences-Shifts in Methodology and Theory in Menstrual Cycle Research on AttractionHere is a meta analysis that sides with Harris:Meta-Analysis of Menstrual Cycle Effects on Women’s Mate PreferencesThis article also describes a Decline effect in studies that find preference for masculinity. I personally think that the evidence for a preference for masculinity independent from overall attractiveness is weak, and that this area of research is a great example of why the scientific method needs to be continually improved with stricter and better documented research methods. The reality is that peer reviewed papers are not held to high standards and type one errors (false positives) are very pervasive. To give an idea of the scope of the problem, it is estimated that a majority of peer reviewed medical studies are wrong: Lies, Damned Lies, and Medical ScienceSee also:Scientific method: Statistical errors

Do you find women with masculine face, a cleft chin hot?

No. I like girls who look cute and feminine.

Why do women bodybuilders have such masculine faces?

Here is a Hungarian woman posing. Its because testosterone, which is needed to body build is a masculine trait. Women also naturally produce it. However, they dont produce as much. Bodybuilding, and perhaps with the use of steroids. Women develop more masculine traits as a result. And may end up looking like a man. It would be the same as if men were taking estrogen to look more like a woman. Usually transgendered men take estrogen to achieve this effect.

I am a woman but I look masculine. How can I look more feminine?

I assume by telling Masculine, you are a big bird with broad shoulders but smaller breasts and smaller waist? My silly attempts to try and be a tomboy when I was a teenager all failed, and this is what I did for a quick turnover.#1. Long hair - Grow long hair and maintain a more wavy or straight hair. Keep the fringes long (till it covers your cheeks) so that it will fall down on the face smoothly, and you can keep moving it backward. I love to do that with my hair.#2: Wear some accessories: Drop earrings (instead of stud) is a quick turn-around solution if you want to have a different look. And matching thin necklace with a cute pendant (my favourite is heart pendant). Dont forget a charming Bracelet.#3: Wear eye Makeup: Mascara and Kajal (eye pencil) will looks so beautiful and speak for itself. Remember kajal is different from eyeliner, you put it on the inside of the eye.#4: Love your feet (and hands): Do Pedicure regularly and wear bright colour nail polish. Wear sandals to show it off...simple.#5: Wear bright colours: Heard 'Pretty in pink'? it is so true. Vibrant colours will do the trick.I dont believe that wearing a flowery dress and shorter dress make you look feminine. Because some gals are really pretty and very feminine even in formal suit and trousers.Hope this helps

Are women with masculine faces and facial features more likely to have higher levels of testosterone than those who don't?

Women with masculine appearance likely have hirsutism. In this condition there are elevated androgens. These are precursors of testosterone. This can lead to facial and body hair growth. Other women with this masculine appearance may have ovarian cysts. Ovarian Cysts - Net Health BookThe ovaries can also displace the normal female hormone pattern, which can also be a cause of hirsutism. The physician examining such a person must order specific blood tests including saliva tests for progesterone. If this is low, typically bioidentical progesterone is given first. This will often rebalance the female hormones.Submit
