Do I Have Chronic Fatigue Or Something Else

Could this be chronic fatigue? or something else with vague symptoms.?

They are pretty vague symptom but could all be due to a viral illness such as infectious mon (glandular fever) or hepatitis (which can cause chronic fatigue in the recovery phase). Another possibility are automimmune conditions such as lupus. Tests that could help are viral screens and autoantibody screens.
Also, are you on any medications at the moment? If not then no worries, but if so there could be an element of side effects in your symptoms.

Do I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

I usually get around 10 hours of sleep a night, sometimes 11-12. I wake up feeling super tired and have to lie and wait before I get up, also wanting to go back to bed. I’ve felt this way for so long that I don’t remember what it feels like to wake up refreshed. I take naps sometimes in the day, and when I do they’re 2-4 hours long. I wake up wanting to go back to sleep, and get super angry when someone tries to wake me up, sometimes I don’t remember what anyone says to me, I’ve even tried to hit someone before supposedly. I know it probably sounds funny but I’m so depressed because of this, I don’t have any hobbies anymore, I don’t go out at all. I was diagnosed with anxiety, depression, EDS, POTS, OCD, and dysautonomia. I’ve tried energy drinks before and coffee but it doesn’t work at all and gives me a lot of anxiety and makes my OCD worse.
I also have around 4 headaches a week and am very nauseated a lot.
Sorry it’s kinda long but I really need help. Any suggestions on treatments would be great. Thanks so much.

How can a person tell if they have chronic fatigue syndrome but doesn't have the funds to test it?

If you have a partner, ask if you shore and if you stop breathing for a bit when you do snore. That is a sign of sleep apnea which can cause chronic fatigue (CF).Try iron and B-12 supplementation. Anemia can cause CF. Have you notices weigh gain or swelling around the neck? That could be a sign of hypothyroidism. But the best way to find out is to see a doctor, Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Free clinics can do this, even Planned Parenthood should have someone to do the blood work necessary to confirm this.

I have chronic pain and chronic fatigue syndrome, any advice?

Hello again there! Sorry to hear about how you feel. I also have CFS or abstein bar. I'm a bit of a pro at it, the difference with me is that I am a new person after my treatment. CFS starts out as Mononucleosis (MONO) the virus which if untreated turns to CFS, so that's why my doctor treats it with Valtrex. Depression and anxiety come with CFS which also causes joint and muscle soreness, that's where the antidepressants come in. As far as the fybromyalgia the only thing I know for it is pain management and that is something I don't dare explain because I have no personal experience but from my mother having it I know it's not easy to treat. Listen, if your doctor disagrees with the treatment that I just described to you as far as the CFS then you need to find someone who is more open to your health solutions. I love my doctor, he's so wonderful that my trust in him is unmentionable. I know it's scary to try someone new, but you need to feel better. Wouldn't you like to feel normal again? Be able to get up when you wake up and go. Not fall asleep at the wheel. You get my point. I'm a new person and I have a new baby. Believe me it feels good to be awake and the weight of the world is now a lot more manageable. By the way drinking makes it worse, a lot worse! So if you do, you need to take a break until you're all better. Believe me it didn't help me any, I thank GOD for today. Chat with you later I hope this info helps u a little bit. By the way if you're having trouble with a day at a time, try an hour at a time. Sounds like you're under a lot of stress and that makes the CFS worse all of the time. Help is on the way, you'll be alright. My doctor always reassured me that I'd be o.k., he is very involved with his patients and that's why everyone loves and trusts him so much

How can a person with chronic fatigue syndrome get more energy?

I would have 2 things checked.....your iron level and your thyroid. Both can cause severe fatigue.

Other ideas include eating fruit for natural sugar as apposed to sugary foods. 10 minutes, 2 times a day of exercise can also help. It doesn't have to be a lot and you can work up to doing more than that if you want to.

If you are not sleeping well at night, I would also ask your doctor about starting a low dose of Trazadone. It helped me greatly and I felt much better during the day.

The biggest thing that helped me was regular chiropractic adjustments. I have Fibromyalgia (although you'd never know it now), spinal stenosis, High Blood Pressure, hypothyroidism and IBS. I also get chronic migraines. Chiropractic has improved my life 100%. I see my chiropractor 1 time a week and I virtually have no symtoms! I have been seeing a chiropractor for 15 months now.

Hope all of this helps!

Can you serve in the military if you have chronic fatigue syndrome?

Hah, I wish it was as simple as getting some sleep. Honestly thats what my technique has been for the past year. I didn't even know that this was a disorder until I was at a red cross and they had a pamphlet about it. Apparently its a legit thing. I am more than willing to just suck it up and deal with it, that is why I asked on here instead of just going to the doctor.

Does Mono give you Chronic Fatigue?

Yes it can cause it, but not always. I was constantly tired for a long time and went to the doctor and he tested me for everything under the sun and tried to then tell me that I was mentally ill. I kept telling him that I had TWO bad bouts of Mono in my life. FINALLY he tested me for Epstein Barr virus antibodies. Epstein Barr is the same as mono, which is short for infectious mononucleosis. An antibody is something your body usually produces when it is trying to fight off something, but after the virus goes away, usually the antibodies will lie dormant. Well, I had no virus in my blood, but I had TONS of the antibodies, still running around in my bloodstream. This can and does cause Chronic Fatigue Immune Disorder.
