Do I Have Modeling/plus Size Modeling Measurements

Why aren't there any plus-size male models?

Well, this is actually more straightforward than you thinks,But it actually makes perfect senses why there are relatively few of them who has modeling as their sole career. Now try to remember basic criteria of models. Male or Female.Models, typically has to be well balanced skeletal shape, and that is all that matter really and fairly well athletic build body is another big plus. Now, we have plenty of them in among professional athlete which actually supplied largest pool of potential large size male models especially for brands who want to capitalize large build or fairly large body.Afterall, to be successful athlete, you have to have well balanced body to perform particular sports.Just look at any advertisement for Nike etc. and you see plenty of athlete modeling for their sports apparel. You realized how many fashion magazine cover David Beckham has been which actually rivals some of so called super models. And athlete came into different body type, and some are bit chubby looking due to their type of sports they are in. Think of NFL player modeling or extreme as Ex Sumo Wrestler modeling for some show, and there has been there and done that enough time in the past. This also create bit of issue for people sign up to agency since agency is rather willing to go for talent pool already have proven audience and already have their imaging right carefully managed.Need for finding extra plus size build body one is actually fairly small compared to find unisex looking guy or bodybuilding looks (which is hard to find among true athlete) thus need to find in different way. Thus not actively recruited, and typically those who sign up to agency is really going thru other talent agency than strictly for modeling.

Plus size modleing?

Hi There!
I'm a female photographer who *specializes* in Plus Size Models...It all depends on what kind of model you want to be. There is "Straight Plus", "Specialty Plus", and "BBW Adult Modeling".

Straight Plus - Sizes 12-18, 5'8"-6'0". Models like Fluvia, Emme, Tocara Jones, Madeline Figueroa, Lisa Scott, Angelikka, etc. "Straight Plus Models" are tall, toned, and fairly porpotionate. Pretty much a curvier thicker version of a skinny woman...including a realtively flat stomach, no stretch marks, double chins or apparent fat rolls.
(Try Googling those names and check out their online portfolios.)
You'll find Straight Plus models on runways, Lane Bryant Catalogs, Dove Commercials, etc.
These type of models get signed to the plus size divisions of major modeling agencies in NY and L.A.

Speciality Plus - Sizes 14-24, no height requirements. Models like, Charlie Curvada, Nahid Baghery, Nadirah Bahar, Michelle Krehl, Tiffany Kaelin, Lynda Ray, Danielle Rhoten, Claudette Rangel, Kenna Piercy, Tasha Duff, Amanda Hussey, etc.
Speciality Plus models have much curvier figures and are not always porportioned! (ie, small on top w/big butt or huge boobs, pearshaped, etc.) They have stretch marks, cellulite, even sagging breasts. They're less toned, yet... of course... still beautiful models!
You'll find Specialty Plus models in low-budget films, online clothing catalogs (ie. Big On Batik, Monif C, Big Gals Lingerie), plus size beauty pageants (Mo'Nique's Fat Chance), etc.
Most Specialty Plus models belong to modeling teams rather than modeling agencies...(Buxom Entertainment, Curvaceous Magazine, Plush Kats, etc.)

BBW Adult Modeling - Usually the first thing people think of when they hear "BBW Modeling" is fattie porn sites... well, they're usually right! Unfortunately, alot of fat women don't do enough research to find that there are OTHER avenues of plus modeling to get into, so they start with adult/erotic modeling. Most models are size 18-36 (generally, "the bigger the better"). There are tons of BBW porn sites, as well as erotic BBW magazines (BBW Bunnies, Bodacious Magazine, Big Butt Magazine, etc.)

Sooo.... it all depends on what your shape is like, how tall you are, what size you are, and what type of modeling you want to do (fashion, print, erotic, etc.)

Hope this helps!!

How much do plus sized models weigh?

Everyone always tell me I should model, but I don't think I'm close to skinny enough. I'm 5'11, almost 6' and I weigh about 160 lbs. :c I've been trying to lose weight, but haven't been succeeding. So would I be considered a plus sized model? I'm just curious. I'm almost 16 by the way. And more background info...I have a flat stomach, bigger than I'd like thighs, big busted...but yeah.

What does it take to be a plus size model?

Here is the info you need if you want to take a shot at legitimate modeling.
Yes, you are too short. Your size is good, because the top agencies (Ford, Wilhelmina, Elite, Next, etc.) book plus size girls from size 8 through 14/16, with the occasional size 18 getting print work.
The ideal body measurements for plus size models are indicative of an hourglass figure, so your bust and hips should be ten inches bigger than your waist (i.e. 46-36-46).
A lot of size 8s and 10s do work for non-plus clients, but the most requested size in the plus industry is 14. The majority of the size 14s that are working right now are 5'10". You are at least 3 inches too short to do any kind of modeling, be it print, runway, fashion, etc. You can explore commercial modeling where height is a less of an issue, but the jobs in that segment are fewer and further in between.

On top of being tall and having the right measurments, you need to be toned, well-proportioned, have great skin, hair and teeth and be photogenic. You also need to be professional and have the money and time to get your career off the ground. It costs money to do test shoots, go to the gym, get spa treatments, get to casting calls, etc.

As a customer, would you prefer to see models of different sizes/weight in an online shop? And would that better assist you in choosing a size?

Have you ever watched QVC?QVC | Online Shopping from Anywhere | Official SiteThey have models and hosts of all different sizes. As a plus size woman, I want to see the clothes on an XL model. I have no idea how the clothing will fit me when seeing it modeled on a size 2 woman that's 5′10″ tall. Sure they look wonderful on this type of model (which they employ as well) but the buying public wants to see a size 4 petite woman (5′2″) to a 5′8″ plus size 18 model and everything in between.

How do Plus Size models get flat stomachs?

I saw some pictures of plus size models, specifically lingerie models, and I noticed that they pretty much have a flat stomach in a way.
Do they do certain exercises to get it that way?

How do plus size models have flat stomachs?

I'll answer this as someone who has been involved with fitness and exercise all their life and not as an expert on models' figures (although I do study the subject occasionally). Although there may well be some genetically gifted models who do not accumulate belly fat like most people, they would be few and far between. Fat in women tends to accumulate around the hips/thighs/stomach. Women who are 'almost' fat-free above the waist, can be very large below the waist, while the opposite is almost never the case (except in alcoholics). A young girl may have this sort of figure (unlikely but possible) but for an adult woman to be heavy in every area except the stomach is very nearly an impossibility (don't blame ME for this) and for a model to appear so, is most likely the result of liposuction. The appearance of a flat stomach can also be created by altering the picture or using poses that don't highlight that area. If you feel the need to send me hate mail over this, you're talking to wrong person.
