Do I Have The Chance To Become A Professional Soccer Player

What are the chances of becoming a professional soccer player in America?

Im a 13 year old boy thats dream is to play infront of thousands of fans. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I go to a soccer field where I join in pickup games with adults in an age range from 16-40. Im usually as good as them and most of them play Semi-Professionally. I've played for a few club teams (U14) including my school team as a Goalkeeper and a Centre Defender and occasionally as a Right/Left Midfielder. I don't care how I make it as a professional, wether I get noticed by skouts or I tryout for a team. I just want to become a professional soccer player. What are the odds?

Thanks.

How hard is it to become a professional soccer player?

As long as you have heart and dedication, you're half way there. But the other half will be hard to manage. You will need lots of training, playing all the time throughout the year and improve in every weakness you have to make them one of your strength.

I did have a dream to become a pro soccer playing too like 5 yrs ago. I had the dedication and heart but I was missing out on being well coached. I only play HS soccer and during the off season I wasn't able to play travel or club soccer so I play a lot on my own and with friends at the park. I went on to play college soccer and it turned out genetic played a big part in my playing career. I was way too small to play with the big boys and my conditioning wasn't good enough. I trained as hard as my teammates but after every practice they get faster and their stamina improved while I was already at my limit.

For example.....friend Richard ran a 2 mile in 13:40. After two weeks of pre-season, he cut his time to 13:05. Next season he went to 11:50.
I ran a 2 mile in 13:15. After two weeks of pre-season, I cut my time to 13:13. Next season, my time was 13:13.

So while playing in games, I wasn't able to keep up with them anymore in after 15 minutes of running. I played center mid-field and my strength are my touch, vision, simplicity. Weakness- too small to challenge 50/50 balls and defending since I'm small. I was great in HS b/c size ddidn't matter that much since i was quick/fast. In college, everyone is just as fast or faster.

I want to become a professional soccer player using the law of attraction. is this possible?

Is 20 too late to become a professional soccer player?

Most professional and National Team level players are in their mid to late twenties. Due to needing amateur status to play soccer in a College/University. (If you didn't know that, you might be in trouble) Scouting first starts with a semi professional team. You still pay to play (in some places) but you travel around the country and play other semi pro teams. Normally coaches start there to recruit for an MLS squad. The next step would be to attend an open tryout. (Again, if you didn't know about this step, you're in trouble.) Open tryout usually cost anywhere from 100-300USD (ouch says the wallet) and there is a slim to none chance that you will make the team in an open tryout. If you are exceptional, you might have a chance to make their reserve squad but that means: No play time, no not being on the roster, and slim hope that you will move on from that position. Take it from someone on the long hard road to NWSL (if you don't know what this is, neither does anyone else). Everything is rough when you are an outsider to the Elite and Academy Worlds. If you are not on a semi professional team: get on one. If you can't make that: keep finding them. If you have tried out for more than ten teams and still no luck, you have no chance of moving forward without improvement.

That is how American Soccer is done.

Do you have to quit school to become a professional soccer player?

If you're a professional, that's your job and that pays the bills. You could probably go to night school but during the day you will be at work training. In England some kids sign professional papers at 16, they can still further their education but playing football is your number one priority.

How do i become a professional soccer player in America?

After high demand on, "How to become a professional soccer player in America" i have decided to post ways you can become a pro.

Starters: It is already taken that you live soccer and have played it for at least 7-8 if not more so far. You should tryout for ODP and be on a competitive soccer team and attend many soccer camps.

Option 1: Junior College, so your not top college stuff yet. Play in JC and if your good enough you will be picked up by a top college in First Division.

Option 2: Amateur Teams, okay you don't have time for college check for your local team in the USL Premier Development League or NPSL. These teams hold tryouts every beginning of the season. Work your way up from here to MLS.

Option 3: Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, okay you want a direct shot at fame. Organize a team pay for entry and enter the cup. A number of amateur teams have won this competiton many times. You will be seen by scouts! Just make sure that you win and progress.

This is all due to space.
