High school, should I carry a backpack or tote bag?
I'm incoming sophomore this school year and I experienced the same problem like yours when I was going into my freshman year last year. I strongly advice that you use a backpack. You can load it with more books, notebooks, and other stuff. The bad thing for tote bags is that they cause bad posture since you wear them over just one shoulder. Backpacks are better since you can still get a good posture and you won't suffer from much shoulder pains since both shoulders are used. This year, I'm thinking about using a tote bag, but I have like 12 big books and 9 notebooks. But I'll still go with the backpack! :) Just use a tote bag whenever you're bringing fewer things. Hope I helped! By the way, if you won't mind me asking, how many books do you have for your freshman year? (just curious) And it's not "uncool" to carry a backpack. You'll even look smarter! Do you need a backpack in high school?
Yess get one! How are you gonna carry textbooks and other crap home? A backpack or tote is fine, as long as you have a way to get 3 or more textbooks home...you'll need to at some point. A regular jansport or northface is fine. (p.s- i don't get what people mean by "it depends if your school has lockers. My school has full length lockers and everyone still uses a backpack to take stuff home.)
Do I have to carry around my backpack in high school?
*please read until the end* i'm going into grade 9 tomorrow, do I have to carry around my backpack from class to class in ontario, canada, or do i get to go to my locker every period to get the things i need for the next class? and should i bring notebooks AND binders the first day? and also, How do you bring lunch in high school? I'm a freshman in ontario, canada. school starts tomorrow. i've only been attending a private school my whole life but i'm going to a public high school so i don't know what the differences are. for lunch, up until now, EVERYONE carried this lunch bag at my privaet school: http://goshopping.thestar.com/shop/produ... which their parents packed.. now i'm going to a public high school so i have no idea how the other kids pack. so MY QUESTION: how do kids pack their lunches in canadian PUBLIC high schools? like in a plastic bag, a brown paper bag, or just the insulated bags i showed you?? or do most kids just buy their lunches from the school cafeteria? how do kids eat on the first day of high school?? so would it be okay to bring a lunch bag like above or would people think i'm a little kid or something? if you could answer all of my questions, that would be GREATLY appreciated. Do high schoolers carry backpacks to classes?
I'm going into high school next year and I was wondering if high schoolers carry backpacks/tote bags/etc to classes? We took a tour to the high school a month ago and the lockers were REALLY small, not wide enough to fit as many books as needed. I heard that some schools let kids carry around bags but others don't, so I guess I'll just have to talk to my counselor about that, but if my school does let us carry bags, what kind should I use? I'm kind of interested in tote bags, never had one before and I don't know what kind I should get that would hold all my books. Please link me to some good ones that look good too... I'm not really girly or anything so nothing all pink and glittery haha :P Just something kinda basic but looks good too.
Do you carry your backpack to your classes in highschool?
Hey I start in two weeks and I'm a freshman too lol. Personally, I think I'm just going to carry my backpack around to every class. I wouldn't want to struggle taking big textbooks around for just one class. Plus there is also a possibility that you could forget your pencil, or calculator or something. Some teachers don't let you out to go back to your locker. But with your backpack being there, you wouldn't have to worry about it!You also may not be able to open your locker or something. There's a ton of possibilities that could happen.But if you are sure you want to carry your backpack, make sure its decently sized. It'll be such a pain if you have a humongous backpack and it's taking up space in class and the halls. So yeah, I think most people would carry around their backpacks!
I carry a backpack AND purse to highschool..am I wierd?
Ok so Ive been carrying a purse since I was in 5th grade and learned about periods and pads, etc. Now im in tenth grade. Im pretty small and short and definetly dont look my age. But I carry a big back pack and my purse to school. I do this because Im afraid of being late to class, so I carry alot of textbooks in my back pack. But I also have a purse to carry things like lipgloss, gum, pads/tampons, cellphone, ipod touch, wallet, etc. Either things that are really important, or that I always need, or could easily break in my backpack. Is this wierd? I am the only person in my whole highschool that carries both. Everyone gives me wierd looks and i always hear "why do you carry that thing around?" Should I feel wierd? Do you know anyone else who does this?
Why did my high school ban roller backpacks?

Did you carry a backpack full of school supplies on your first day in high school?
Oh dear. Yes I did, and I will not being doing that ever again. In my high school anyway, teachers don’t give out supply lists until the 3rd or 4th day of school, but I had no idea about that. I bought a slew of supplies, packed them happily into my bag, and was ready. Until, that is, I realized I bought all the wrong supplies, carried a heavy backpack around a fairly large campus, and got lost (unrelated, but funny). So this year, I didn’t do that. I brought the vital stuff (paper, pens, notebooks, folders, and binders) but didn’t go crazy. So I would recommend to not to do that. Just buy what you know you’ll need, but wait for the teacher to give you the list.
