Do I Have To Do Live Lessons In Flvs

What are live lessons like in virtual school?

I don't live in FL, but I've done several classes through my state's online school. The live lessons (though they were called something else) were mainly just the teacher talking as she presented a powerpoint presentation to us. We listened and asked any questions. We didn't do anything over webcam, as they can't require that you have one, though people who had microphones would use those to ask questions as it was easier but not necessary.
Probally if this is for PE (which I've done online) you'll just be listening to her read out the stuff you could have read in 5 seconds. Just be prepared to be pretty bored :P I always was.

What are live lessons on FLVS like?

A live lesson/collaboration assignment is mandatory for my Government class. I've never been *required* to attend a live lesson before and am just wondering what it's like-- Do you interact with your teacher? Other students? Do you just watch a presentation then get your collaboration files? Thanks in advance!

Do I have to do Live Lessons in flvs?

Yes you have to do all mandatory live lessons. Everything else is optional. I'm in the same boat.

FLVS students only! I really need an answer?

Don't worry. I have really bad anxiety too so I was super nervous the first time I was in a session.

For one thing, you're not the only one in the live session so he/she is not going to be talking directly to you, they will be talking to you as a class. If you have any questions about what he/she is teaching you just type it in and hopefully they will answer you right away.

They do use slides depending on your teacher, some teachers just ask you what you don't understand about certain lessons and he/she will explain things.

There is nothing to be worried about, trust me I would know :)

FLVS collaboration..?

HI i was in a live lesson with FLVS and my computer shut down during the middle of it.. this is my first live lesson so it would count for the 1.01 collaboration.. if i do it again tomorrow will it still count as a collaboration?

Flvs journalism question?

hi I'm currently taking journalism 1. I'm in the first segment and I have a few questions.
1. how exactly does the collaboration work?
2. I'm currently on 2.04, what do I do for that assignment? it only says to do an interview, but what exactly about and is there anything else to it?

Can I study from England from FLVS?

Lucky you, I always wanted to move to England. :(
I think you can, however I'd call you're homeroom teacher just to make sure. There was a student in one of my live lessons that was in a different country studying with us. Since it's online, over the interest, you should be able to.

How does Florida Virtual School work?

Heres my story. I hate public school. I cry almost everyday because i simply have bad luck with school. In my school you're FORCED to work in groups. Most of the time its groups picked by the teacher and nobody knows each other in the group and nobody talks to each other and it turns out to be extremely awkward and no work gets done.

Then out of all the **** that has happened to me, with bullying, being extremely antisocial to the point that i just hate everyone (in my school) and everything, i get a fungus. I have missed school for a month with doctors notes and everything and now i have to go back soon and im in tears right now because i really dont want to go back.

My parents dont want me to do FLVS because they think i wont get a High School Diploma or that no college is going to accept me because i did FLVS.

I need to know how it works. Here are some questions i have:

1) Do you have "Classmates" like do you work with other people over skype or something, or is it 100% alone?

2) Do teachers teach you over skype? or do they send you video/recordings?

3) Do you get an actually diploma? a psychical one?

4) Does doing FLVS reduce your chances of getting accepted into a good college/university?

5) I heard that you get to finish the school year early if you work hard enough, is it possible to get all your work at once and finish it as early as February/March? (If you study and work hard enough)

6) If i decide to stay in Public School, is it possible to do 5 or 6 classes in school and then come home and do 1 or 2 classes on FLVS?

7) I heard that you get 3-4 assignments per week per class that you have to turn in by sunday, how long are each assignment? 5-25 questions?

8) What happens of you're an assignment short by the end of the week or you missed one assignment?

Thank you all in advance and if you have any tips for FLVS, please share.
