Is maths required for biotechnology?

Yes it is required. In some universities you will be having maths for first 3 semesters and in some you will be having it only.for 2 years or so!!!So it completely depends on which university you choose!!!!And coming to why maths I required here is the reason1)To understand the process of sterilization you need to have basic knowledge of integration and differentiation. 2)In biotechnology one have to study about fermentator design & upscaling, bioprocesses, mass transfer, metabolic engineering ,biochemistry, biophysics etc. So maths is required there!!3).For finding the estimation of dna , there is use of maths.4).Calculate the composition of any culture.5).Finding molarity, morality, normality of any solution.6)•If u placed in any industrial company there is use of maths for calculating the estimation, percentage, pH.And etc..Hope this was helpful!!!!ALL THE BEST!!!!

BSc Neurology. Career Paths and this degree?

You don't have a "Dr." in front of my name unless you do a PhD or go to med school (and thus become a doctor).
A BSc in neuroscience isn't going to get you great jobs - not at first anyway. You could be employed by pharmaceutical industries, or teach at a school. You could also decide to be a research scientist researching neuropharmacology and neuropsychology. You might get a job in biotechnology or forensic science, or be a lab technician.

The point is, if you wanna get a job immediately after you get ur BSc, then its gonna be a small job and its salary is not very much (GBP 14000-19000 yearly). Infact, what most people do after a BSc in neuroscience is go study further. They might do a MSc or PhD in the subject or other related subjects. They may also want to be neurologist/neurosurgeons, which require them to go to medical school. Thus they may apply for graduate entry to medical school (which is different from undergraduate entry, mind you).

In short, after you get a BSc in neuroscience, you will probably have to get a further degree to have greater job opportunities. Heck, you can study anything you want after that actually.

This is all i know :)

What is BSc biotechnology, what are the subjects and syllabus for this course in India? Do I have to study physics, maths & chemistry during the UG?

Bsc Biotechnology covers microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, bio informatics, enzymology, pharmaceutic related subjects. The first year covers physics and mathematics and later there will be subjects that use applications of physics and mathematics. It is good if you are interested in biology (areas of cell cycle, photosynthesis, DNA , RNA, antibodies, molecular biology etc) and chemistry ( organic) and structures. The scopes are vast as there will be post of R&D and quality control in Biotechnology compaines. And also one can pursue NET for biotechnology after academics.

Is maths required at 10+2 level in order to study B.Sc Biochemistry?

It depends on which college we want to pursue our Bachelors degree from ! For most of the Indian colleges and universities it is not mandatory to have maths subject in your 11–12 standards. But the problem is that in entrace exams of some top Indian Institutes for both bachelors and masters, question will be asked from 11–12 mathematics !! Even i faced this problem hehe so its better to choose both maths-bio as subjects instead going for only bio !!

What job could i get with a BSc Mathematics?

Damned little. Take electives in finance if you like that, or computer science and programming if you like that to get an entry.Newer fields include logistics and reliabilitry engineering. Even with a masters or Phd in mathematics jobs are few and far between, no matter what lies you are told.

I know. I spent decades looking for work outside of teaching and my areas of expertise were in very applied mathematics including statistics and what used to be known as operations research (now applied management science). There seems to be an employment bias against those in mathematics. [Perhaps others here have had similar experiences.] Try to label yourself as something else other than a "math major."

Actuarial work is another good area, but you'll need advanced degrees to move up.

The best of luck to you. Sadly, you'll need it.
