Home school to public school placement test?
Where did you hear you had to take a test? Can you call the new district and ask how they handle students attending who were previously homeschooled? I do not think there is any specific standardized test. You got me thinking so I went over to Amazon and look what I found: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?u... Most schools have their own policy about how to assess your ability to do grade level work. My son took the final exams from the previous year in the subjects he'd had in homeschooling. Some don't test, they just toss you into the deep end. If you have been homeschooled and are reading well, I do not think there is anything to worry about. You might pick up a book of math puzzles from the magazine rack to give you a little math practice in a fun way. good luck on any test you do have to take. And in high school.

what are some high schools that are good in manhattan and brooklyn that are small and good with learning differences?, i want it to be small and like the students know the teachers and the teachers know the students, my daughter is big on race like not all black, white, asain and hispanic, she wants MIXED! please help, good with any location :) thanks
Do children who attend the public school system in the U.S. take the IQ test?
Depending on the state they are given a cognitive level test or IQ tests in elementary school. Often the Iowa Test of Basic Skills is used although it is a cognitive skill level (what you have learned) rather than IQ test (what you have the capability of learning). It is part of the criteria for gifted education in most states. I don’t know what score my son received (He was identified as a gifted student). However, I had my daughter tested for dyslexia outside of school, and then in school to receive special services, so I was given the results of WISC and Woodcock Johnson tests for IQ.You can ask as the school system probably has them. But I wouldn’t worry about it. If it was low, your parents would probably contacted to consider special services. My daughters was initial scores were average and therefore they didn’t know how bad her reading problem was.
How can I transfer from Catholic high school to public high school?
I'm pretty much finishing up my freshman year at the Catholic high school Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School (New York). I strongly want to transfer to a public school. I would prefer a public school in Queens. I would like to know how I would go about transferring? Do I have to contact the public school? Forest Hills High school is not my zone school, but I it is a choice of mine. Is there any way that I may be able to go there? Thanks in advance.
