Do I Have To Use A Needle To Self Pierce My Smiley Or Can I Just Push The Ring Through

DIY smiley piercing advice?

Please don't do this piercing at home. If you mess up and it get's torn, it's not going to heal back to normal. You also run the risk of causing yourself some dental damage! FYI: a sewing needle is about 20g in size, so your rings wont fit anyway. This piercing isn't too spendy if you have your own jewelry and want to take it to a professional. Most places will pierce you with your own jewelry if it meets their standards and they have an autoclave to sterilize it in first.

I want to pierce my smiley, how?

Once again, I don't care if it hurts because I'm not scared, and I don't care what it looks like to you. No one cares about your opinion.
Okay I don't know what veins are there, or if I can get hurt.
-how to clean it
-what to pierce it with
-how to sterilize a needle
-how to numb it
-infections, reactions, what could happen, etc.
-what size smiley ring I should get after piercing it
-how to brush my teeth or go to dentist shortly after piercing it.
thankss guarenteed best answersss xoxoxo

Why should you use a hollow needle for piercing and not a sewing needle?

Piercing needles allow for a much smoother piercing experience (when getting it done and overall). They're made specifically for piercings, whereas a sewing needle obviously isn't. Sewing needles are generally too small for a piece of jewellery to go through, unless you're aiming for one with a higher gauge (and therefore a smaller piece of jewellery). In addition to this, piercing needles also should come pre-packaged; where they have been previously sterilised. I believe they're also made of a different material than sewing needles, as they are a lot stronger (you can easily bend a sewing needle). Using a piercing needle is also a lot quicker. Imagine using a sewing needle through a thick bit of cartilage! This means the healing process should also be a much better experience, as not only will the needle go in straight, but the piercing shouldn't get infected - and the chances of the jewellery being rejected is much lower.I have 12 piercings and they've all been done with either a piercing needle or a gun (for lobes) by a professional piercer - definitely a better way to go!

How can I pierce myself, without using a hollow needle?

sicne your gonna do it anyways....make sure you sterilize the needle. i pierced my labret and 3rd hole in my ears (which i no longer have btw lol) myself using a safety pin.....dipped it in rubbing alchol and ran a lighter along it and make sure your hands are clean. depending on WHAT you are piercing just mark the spot with a marker and push the needle thru as quick and clean as possible. the only problem without using a hollow needle is the whole wont be as big..and may close faster. the hollow needle needs to take the little chunk of meat out with it so it has room to heal AROUND the piercing.

good luck :-)

How Long does a smiley piercing take to heal.?

As with most oral piercings, smiley piercings should take no longer than 6 weeks to heal.
Generally, they heal within 1-3 weeks but this is due to PROPER, safe care taking of the piercing.
That includes no excessive touching or fiddling and no bumps or knocks to the piercing.
Wait another week and see how it goes. If it's in the same condition, I think it should be fine.

Bye :] x

Ps- I'm incredibly jealous of you. I really want my smiley pierced. I'm only 13, so I'm contemplating piercing it myself. Yeah, yeah, I know "Don't do that! That's so stupid" Not really, if you know all the details about it, the ins and outs, the pros and cons. Which I do. 1.6mm hollow one-use piercing needle? Eyebrow barbell sterilized by an autoclave or pre-sterilized? Oh yeaa :P

What are some piercings i can do myself on my face.?

i recommend that you get it done by a pro. i had a friend that did her own "smiley" and she turned out fine, but the chances of you doing it by yourself and it messing it is a chance you might whats to think about,

doing your ears is ok to do by yourself.

something in your mouth you just dont want to take a risk and get an infection.

but if you plan to do this, make sure whatever you use, that you sterilize it, rinse your mouth with mouth wash for 30 seconds and then, just pierce at your own rate and pain tolerance.

after your done.....just rinse your mouth every time you eat, drink or put anything in your mouth. always carry some mouth wash with you wherever you go.

Piercings? (Frowny) or (Anti-Smiley)?

Okay, so I'm going to pierce my lower frenulum or (frowny) in a couple days. I know the whole, "Go to a professional" "blah blah blah" routine. But the fact is I'm only 15 so my mom wouldn't even think to let me get it, let alone my third lobe piercing. Since I'm piercing it myself, I have a few questions.
1. How do I know if my frenulum is big enough?
2. Where exactly do I need to put the piercing?
3. Is the pain manageable?
4. What do I need to pierce it?
5. Can you give me a step by step plan on how exactly to do it?

Also, idk if this matters, but I have had my second piercing, but with the gun from Claire's. (I know horrible idea) but I was only 13. And I have a semi-high tolerance to pain if that also helps. I used to ge tshots every month for things and it didn't really bother me. So please help! Thank you!

Nose piercing questions?

Okay. MAKE SURE YOU GET IT DONE WITH A NEEDLE, NOT A GUN. That's the most important thing. With a gun you have a chance of getting nasty diseases and infections. With a needle its more clean and sanitary, make sure they open the needle infront of you!

-Yes you can take a shower.
-Blow it like normally, it hurts for the first week so don't push down that nostril. If you have to, pick it.
-Clean the piercing or nose? Nose, just pick that side lol. Piercing, get a qtip and take whatever they give you and clean around it inside and out!
-Your nose starts bleeding? Lol
-There will be a big pimple like bubble. If that happens, go to your doctor to get an antibiotic ointment.
-Read above.
-I used a q tip. with the cleaner or you can use salt + water. Natural remedies are best!
-I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but that sh8t hurt! But boneslty, the pains worth it! So yes.
-A couple of months to fully heal.
-When you get it pierced your eyes will water and it will hurt for a while. If you keep on touching it its gonna hurt. But mine stopped hurting after a week or two.
-Not unless the piercings small. You can just pull it out... I highly doubt this will happen.
-Possibly. But if you take good care of it, its unlikely. Don't touch it all the time.
-Your choice. It depends what stud you get, theres different kinds.
-no you won't die. common illness? I'm not sure. An infection can get bad to the point where you'll have to take the piercing out and let the hole close

Hope I helped. A good tip is to sleep with medical tape on your nose when you sleep!!! Because mine fell out on the first few nights and it hurt a lot putting it back in cause it was a fresh piercing and plus your nose is very sensitive. Good luck! :)

Can I pierce my ears twice in the same spot if the first piercing healed?

An infection will complicate matters.  It needs to be cleared up before you get that spot re-pierced, or else the infection may get worse or spread.  If it's not clearing up on its own, you need to see a doctor.  You may need antibiotics.  A small infection in a piercing can turn worse quickly and unexpectedly, and if it gets bad, can damage the tissue and leave you with a damaged ear.  So definitely take care of that.  If it's been infected already for more than two days, and hasn't started to clear up, go to your doctor or an urgent care.  Most reputable piercers won't re-pierce an infected spot.Once that's healed, you can get pierced again at any time.  The scar tissue shouldn't be too difficult if they were just standard-gauge piercings in the lobe or cartilage.  And I know I say this every time, but be certain to go to a licenced piercer.  Getting pierced with the gun puts you in much greater danger: more pain, more damage to your ear, and a greater risk of infection.  Since you've already had one infected piercing, you're at a higher risk of a new one already.Good luck!
