How does what you think you look like differ from what you actually look like?
The thing that strikes me the most is that I’m way way taller than I think myself to be.My boyfriend is 6’3 so my scale is constantly off. I’m not super tall (5’7), but I sent a video of a ballroom dancing lesson of mine to a friend and I was looking at it like, “Why do I look like an eel?!” I think I also don’t have the correct perception of how my weight lays on me.I’m always kind of surprised at pictures and laugh at the differences. Because you know who I see in the mirror the most? A woman taking out her retainer from the night before, washing her face, and putting on orange tinted computer glasses.Or, well, last time I was in front of the mirror a while I was trying to master the art of putting fake lashes on for a gig. And I ripped some skin off of my eyelid.I’m always almost-late so I don’t look at the mirror in depth after makeup time (which is 3–5 minutes as a necessity). Right before I go to bed I don’t look glam.I am generally pleasantly surprised with pictures or videos.
