Do I Need Braces Again

Should I get braces again?

I had braces for 2 years, 1 month, and 6 days.. I just got them off 4 months ago. They had a new worker do my impressions for retainers and she messed up and I ended up getting impressions done 5 times. They even made my top retainer crooked. Even after the 5th set of clear retainers they still didn't fit right. Since they messed up, they are giving me braces again for free tomorrow, but I don't think I want them. I'm afraid they will just mess up my retainers again and my teeth will go crooked :l My teeth have already been going back to the way they were before, not as bad but they are going crooked. Should I get braces again, or should I just deal with my crooked teeth?

That depends. Your treatment failed because you never did manage to learn to keep your mouth closed, breath through your nose and swallow properly. So your teeth have moved themselves to a place where you can breath through your mouth and let your lips hang open.If you cannot control the soft tissue, you will never maintain there hard tissue.Personally I doubt you can do this so further orthodontics would be a waste of money, just like the original.Buy a nice car.

Do i need braces again?

i had braces for about two and a half years because my front teeth were crooked and overlapping, and i had crooked teeth on the bottom. i got them off in december of 2010, but since then they've shifted and moved a lot. the teeth directly next to my two front teeth seem to shift away from my front teeth, leaving small gaps in between. they aren't very noticeable, but they're big enough that i can easily see them. i only have to wear my retainer at night and they look better after i've been wearing it, but they shift very easily.
i stopped wearing my retainer after they told me to wear it only at night. i didn't wear it except for a couple times for about 3 months before i noticed that my teeth shifted, so i wore it everyday for a few hours over the summer until i finally went to the orthodontist and got a new one made. they didn't say anything about how my teeth looked then, but they've shifted more since i got the new retainer made.
i feel like i had my braces taken off too early, i didn't think my teeth were ready when i got them taken off but they looked ok when i got them off so i didn't think much about it until now. what should i do?

Why do people need to get braces again?

1 Not wearing retainers.
2 Chemotherapy can ruin your teeth
3 wisdom teeth can make your teeth crooked.

As long as you're alive, your teeth can shift.

How do i tell my parents that i need braces again?

ok so i got my braces off like 2 years ago but my teeth have moved! i did everything my orthodontist told me to do! their not as bad as before but still... when i tell people i had braces their like WHAT NO WAY! YOU CANT EVEN TELL! its annoying and i WANT braces again.my brother needs braces too soo it wouldnt be fair to him if i got braces twice and he hasnt had them. how do i tell my parents? My retainers still fit..... HELP!?!

Braces...Again?

I'm with the other girl, get a 2nd opinion.
But if the other dentist thinks you need them, then do it when you are covered by your parent's insurance.

Your teeth don't just need to "look" nice they need to fit together well too. Your bite affects how your teeth wear, and any potential jaw pain. Which can cause headaches etc. as you get older.

There are some new options you can think about though. See if you are a candidate. There is a small oral surgery procedure that may cut down the amount of time you need to spend in braces.

You may be a candidate for "invisalign" Basically clear thin plasic molded to fit a model of your teeth that you wear 24/7 like braces, but are invisable, Our CEO had them I stood like 2 feet from him and never saw it, even once I knew and looked for it. But they are more expensive.

If you have to do "wire" braces see if you can do "white" braces, the "brackets" are white, and the bands are clear, so all you see is the thin wire. I had those, most people didn't know I had braces because the way my mouth is they don't show much when I talk.

Then when you get off the braces talk to your orthodontist about a perminant retainer. I have one on the bottom. It is basically like a "braces" wire that is glued directly to your teeth. You have to be extra good about flossing around it. But it is stuck on the BACK side of the teeth, nothing shows up front. After a few weeks you forget it is there.

Good Luck

Should I wear braces again at 23?

Yo had a history of Orthodontic treatment. You say the teeth are relapsed to their original position. Now you want the get the braces again to re-position them.Well you can get the braces at 23 and can align the teeth, but now the treatment will require more time than previous one. Also you need to wear the retainer for longer period. This is theoretically possible. You need to the OPG done before any confirmed treatment planing.

I didn't wear my retainer. Do I need braces again?

Hey i did the same thing and it got to the point where i would go weeks with out it in. So when i finally did put them in they hurt and couldn't keep them in. When i went to the orthodontics they said either i wear my retainer full time for the next two weeks or else i was going to need braces again. So i did wear it and they hurt and couldn't keep them in at first at night but eventually they loosened up and it corrected my teeth and now i am back to just wearing them every night.

Can I get braces again if I have short roots?

Short roots. Impossible to know the situation without actually seeing x rays.Generally speaking, tooth movement causes slight amount of bone loss or blunting of bony crests. Depending on the tooth to root ratio, orthodontics, with regular braces or Invisalign ( both are moving teeth) may or may not be the best option.Depending on why you need orthodontics, other options may be better. You did not provide the reason why you are considering Ortho…crowding? spaces ? It would also be helpful to know at least approximate lengths of the roots in question.Teeth are very important part of ones persona. They can have a huge psychological impact on people if they perceive them to be unsightly. I don’t think that ignoring the issue will make it go away. Providing greater detail will get you better information in return.
