Do I Need Braces Because Of My Front Teeth

The gap between my front two teeth came back do I need braces again?

Sometimes gaps are hereditary, even I have one. You dont need to fix your gap, only if it is a big bothersome physically not emotionally :)

Retainers dont do much, braces are probably gonna be your best choice, your going to need to keep them on for a while so you know they stay in the spot you need them to be in, so no. You need to leave your braces on for quite longer than just 6 months

Hope I helped

Front teeth stick out AFTER braces?

An orthodontist would most likely be able to fix the problem for you. They may not fix it for free though if the problem wasn't there when they took the braces off. Orthodontists are pretty good at documenting the "before" and "after" effects of braces, so they'll know if it's a change that has occured over time or if it was their fault.
Teeth move gradually over time. It's a natural occurance.
I would recommend seeing your orthodontist about it, as well as possibly seeing another orthodontist for a second opinion.
It's hard to say how long it would take to correct the problem without seeing a photo.
Good luck!

Should I get braces for my front teeth?

Okay, here's the best advice for you hun. I had braces from the beginning of 6th grade to middle of 8th grade. They do not hurt while they put them on, that i can promise!
When they put the braces on your teeth, they will use a cement and glue on the brackets to each individual tooth. After they do that (this is what my dentist did for me) they put a really thin metal half ring in, that goes in between the brackets and hooks to the last one. They then put the rubber bands around them to secure them.
When i went to get them tightened, they would just change out metal rings and that was it.

They do hurt afterward so i suggest after getting the braces you eat something because they WILL hurt after about a few hours. When i got mine, I got mine around 7pm and it was a 2 hour trip back, so when i got home I fell asleep and when I woke up it hurt to move my mouth. I ended up just taking tiny bits of food and swallowing it instead of chewing it (which is bad advice really).
But the pain isn't that bad as long as you don't put pressure on your teeth, like chewing or pushing them with your teeth. The pain will go away after your teeth get adjusted.

I wish you luck with braces =]

Do you need braces if you have a space between your two front teeth?

Not necessarily. The gap between two front teeth is know as distema. There are many other option to treat diastema other than braces.Treatment of a Diastema:First it is important to observe the cause of diastema.Treatemnt of diastema depends on the following factors:The distance between the two teeth:whether the gap is large or small the gap is between the two teeth only or is there spacing is present moderately between other teeth also.If gaps appear due to an oversized labial frenum:a minor surgery is required before the application of braces. Otherwise, the gaps will recur after the removal of the appliance. This surgical procedure is called a ‘frenectomy’ and it involves the removal of the frenum, which is the excess soft tissue or gum flesh.Common Methods for Management of Diastema:1.Orthodontic Treatment (Fixed Braces):It is the oldest and most commonly used method for the management of diastema. Dentists usually recommend the use of traditional braces or clear aligners such as Invisalign to move the teeth together. It is most commonly employed under the following conditions:When the gap between the two teeth is large enough that cannot masked by using cosmetic dental treatment. When gap exits between more than two teeth. When there are space discrepancy issues within the jaw i.e. spacing and crowding problems of teeth. It is an expensive and time consuming methods and now mostly replaced by cosmetic dental treatments.2.Dental Veneers:Fixing bigger gaps may require reshaping of the affected tooth. This treatment involves the bonding of thin pieces of porcelain over the top of the teeth to correct gaps, irregular shapes, chips and stains. It is also expensive but less time consuming than braces.3.Dental Bonding:A resin-shaped substance (composite filling/tooth color filling material) is applied to the affected teeth, sculptured and shaped to fill in the gap. This quick process can be completed in just one visit. It is usually employed for minor gaps only.I hope this answer might be helpful to you.Regards,Dr Ghazfa Jamil Khan

I have a gap between my front teeth will i need braces?

Ask your dentist about "Myofunctional Therapy". A gap is usually created by something called "tongue thrust", which is where you are swallowing incorrectly and your tongue is pushing against your front teeth instead of the roof of your mouth.

The therapy will teach you how to swallow properly, and also strengthens your lips to help push your teeth back in place.

If you are having that problem, the therapy is a much better and natural alternative to braces. Also, braces won't correct the reason for the gap, which means it may develop again later in life.

Can you get braces but have a gap between your front two teeth unaffected?

Short answer is yes, your orthodontist can do that for you. Also if the teeth are large a small gap can be created by removing a little enamel. Whether they will or not is a matter for you to determine. In time your gap will probably return unless you have a bonded wire retainer, these things do tend to recur. Some orthodontists cut the ligaments between the two front teeth to help prevent a return of the gap. I too think a gappy smile can be cute. After 20 years doing orthodontics and 20 years as a general dentist I am not so enamoured by orthodontics any more. A little variance in our smiles makes people more attractive. I now just try and get the faces and the breathing and swallowing right and the teeth take care of themselves.Walk down Hollywood and Vine and you will notice that everybody has the same smile, same nose, same boobs, same butt, same yoga outfits, same sneakers. It shocked me clear back into reality.

Can braces be used to fix a gap in the front teeth?

I'm a final year post-graduate studying orthodontics, and feel qualified to answer this.Yes. Long gaps can most certainly be closed. However, the methodology depends on a few factors -If the gap is because the teeth are small, they may need to be 'built up' with composite cement. If the gap is due to a fold of tissue between the teeth (called 'frenum'), then the tissue will need to be removed post space-closure, otherwise the space will relapse. If the space is because of the front teeth being placed forward, the teeth can be taken back.If you have a habit ( tongue thrust, mouth breathing) that must be addressed first. This the patient is not aware of many times, and a clinician is required to confirm it.

Braces making two front teeth slightly uneven?

I see what your saying : your teeth were aligned before your braces , and now there un-aligned. ?

This can happen , b/c when they put the braces on; other teeth can move. When I got my braces , my teeth weren't gaped and the braces put a huge gap between my 2 front teeth .

So I can assure you that when the time comes your orthodontist will aligned your teeth . Its just part of the process of braces.Teeth will gap, and get crooked on the way to getting them perfect. 8)

I have a gap between my two front teeth?

usually the dentist will ask you what you want to do with your teeth and what look you are hoping to achieve.
then he will check your teeth and then tell you what he feels you need to accomplish the goal you are hoping to get.

if you need braces on both teeth he will tell you. if you like the gap and the rest of your upper teeth are straight, then you need to tell him you don't like the gap.

if you are unhappy with the gap and your bottom teeth are crooked, he will do upper and lower.

he will pull your upper teeth forward so the gaped teeth will come together. the bottom will alighn slowly until they are nice and straight.

good luck, you will have a beautiful smile.

How can I wear braces while skipping my two front teeth (cause they were crowned due to an accident)? My other teeth are crooked and I wanna fix them.

Hi! As you'e mentioned your front 2 teeth have crowns on them, but the question is ,Are they in their corrected position?are they not forwardly placed or maligned ?If yes then you can repositon them along with the other teeth at the same time .If not then what your Orthodontist will do is out a wire over them as well but ensure that the tire does not exert any force or pressure on those 2 teeth so their position will no change. Also depending on which teeth are crowded the type of appliances used will differ.Yesterday have crowns on them do not affect the othodontic treatment much ,because the treatment mainy aims to act on the tissues around the teeth to help them reposition .
