Do I Need Money To Start A Fantasy Football League

How can I start a Fantasy Football?

Starting your own fantasy football league is not easy since money isn't involved. Meaning if you have a league where everyone joins at the starting then they wont be active for the hole season.

So take it from a guy who had his own league in football, baseball, hockey, & basketball creat a league where money is involved or no one will be active. (exp. 10 team league only 4 or 5 teams active and so on don't creat a league with out money.

NFL Fantasy Football Leagues - When Money is involved.?

Hey guys. Over the past three years I've been doing free fantasy leagues. This year I want to do a money league. Could some of you give me some ideas of which sites are the best for money leagues. For example which sites give out the best prizes or the most value for your dollar if you win. Also do any give out prizes for second or third place. Thank you in advance.

I am setting up a fantasy football league for this season. However, I am not sure if everyone needs to have a yahoo account to join. I think some of my friends have gmail, hotmail, etc. Does everyone need to have a yahoo account to play fantasy football in a yahoo league?

What are some tips for running a fantasy football league at work?

Below are some tips from being a commissioner of a work fantasy football league at 3 or 4 companies.Figure out how many people are interested. This number will dictate how the league is run or even how many leagues.Open it up to everybody. It really frustrates me when a league is solely bro fantasy sports dorks (and yes, I am squarely in this demographic). Fantasy sports is not that hard and really doesn’t take that much time. The computer can auto-draft for you, spend 5 minutes a week updating your lineup, and if you get lucky you can win. Encourage anybody with a slight interest to play.Start an email chain or group Slack channel for some trash talking. All the apps or sites, have a section for posting but using the standard communication method at work increases the connection and visibility.Write a post quarterly about the successes and even better the failures. Yes, it does take times but keeps people interested.Set the league up so that the majority of people make the playoffs. It really is a bummer to start out 0-3 and the chances of making the playoffs is very low. But if 8/12 teams make the playoffs, then an 0-3 start is just a speed bump.Play for money. Fantasy sports is not gambling. It is a game of skill as defined by the carve out of the Unlawful Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. So, I say again, play for money. It is just more fun when you have some dollars on the line. But also, just as important, do not make it too rich. The sweet spot is enough to keep your interest but not enough to hurt anybody financially.Collect the money by Week 2. This is the most important part of being a commissioner. Gently remind people. Send emails. Casually mention it as you are walking by. And if all those don’t work, make a deadline. If you do not pay by this time I will lock your team. The work dynamic makes this a little more difficult. It might be tough for the junior accountant to collect money from the CEO but if you can’t do it, you are not fit to be a commissioner.Set the pay out and post it publicly after all money is collected.Pay out promptly at the close of the season. No mid-season payouts. No I will pay you in 2 weeks after I go to the bank. Pay out promptly when the fantasy season ends.Oh, almost forgot. Have fun.

How do ESPN's Fantasy Football League Fees work?

Usually we do free fantasy football leagues, but this year we are having a $20 entry fee. We use ESPN for fantasy football. There is an option to change the entry free from free to $20, but it doesn't say what happens to that money. Does the winner take all? Does the commissioner get to distribute the money however they want (split it up between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd)? Does ESPN just keep the money?

We'd like to split the winnings between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Would that be possible with ESPN or would we have to use something else to split the money?

How do ESPN Fantasy Football prize leagues work?

I started a espn prize fantasy league a minute ago.. paid 50 dollars for "3 teams" but am unsure about how the prizes work. There's 9 more open teams after mine. How much does it cost people I invite to join and what are the payouts? I assume top 3 are paid?

Where can I find people to join my ESPN Fantasy Football league?

I joined a group last year called Fantasy Football Help/Talk group on Facebook. People consistently ask others to join their fantasy football league, whether it be standard, PPR, money, 3 QB, whatever it may be. The spots are usually filled within 2 or 3 hours, sometimes it can be minutes for 5 league spots to fill up, which would be very convenient for someone trying to be commissioner in a league for the first time but not having enough friends to play. It won't let me post the link to the group without it saying "Log in to Facebook" but just search Fantasy Football Help/Talk Group and you will find it and fill out your draft easily.

How do u clinch a playoff spot in my fantasy football league?

To prove a mathematical clinching you take your worst case scenario and the #5 player's best case scenario. If you lost your last 3 games you would be 8-6. If he won his last 3 games he would be 9-5. Once it is true that even if you lost out and all the wrong teams won out you would still be in at least 4th place then you have clinched.

Really though that isnt much more than an academic exercise. You are in a good position and if you have the kind of team that puts up massive points then you will keep winning and make the playoffs.
