When do we get original degree from Delhi university?
Since you have done your graduation from SOL, you will get the degree delivered at your postal address registered with DU after the completion of span period. Span period of Hons. courses is 5 years and for all the other courses it is 6 years.For example, if you have done B.Com (Hons.) then you will get the degree after 2 years from the date of declaration of final year result.
Should I stay in school/ROTC an extra semester than planned?
You are not alone and it will only get worse if Congress does a major cut on DOD budget as has been proposed. The Services manpower will be drastically cut which means fewer open slots for officers in all four Services. This happened in 1973/5 timeframe as well. ROTC cadets, many in the last semester, were told no commission period even though they finished the program successfully. Those who had top grades, especially in technical majors such as engineering, math, physics were commissioned but most were designated for technical support jobs in acquisition (Army and Air Force primarily, a couple in the Navy). Promotions were slowed to the point where O-1 to O-2 took 24 MONTHS (happened to me - went from 12 months to 24 months). Some guys jumped out of ROTC and applied to other Services. Some Army ROTC cadets who were beginning their Junior year, left ROTC and applied for Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class (10 weeks OCS in summer between Jr-Sr year). Those that successfully made it, most did but some didn't (not physically fit enough), were commissioned on the day they graduated. A few went to the Coast Guard and some to the Navy. Hopefully, my answer has been helpful for you to figure out a strategy that will at least give you a chance for a commission. If you decide to take the PLC route, DO NOT delay and inquire as soon as possible. I guarantee that others are doing this and their are only so many OCS slots available. Wouldn't hurt to check on the Navy as well. The Air Force has really cut back on their OTC acceptance rates, but worth checking out. Best wishes. Marine corps tuition assistance?
Ok I plan on enlisting in the Marines when I graduate high school 2015. Recently the marines suspended the tuition assistance does this mean I would have to pay for the college programs if I wanted to use them or does the suspansion mean I can't use any college programs at all even if I pay for it?
