When do I need to read the Quran?
So, I'm a Muslim and I haven't read the Quran yet. I'm only 10, too, and I don't know much Arabic, Urdu, or any Middle Eastern language. Only English since I was raised in America. My parents read the Quran but they don't have enough time to teach me how to read it. A Muslim teacher kept meeting me everyday, saying I need to read the Quran and learn Arabic and all and it annoyed me how she said this everyday so I wanted to try to read it in English. But when do I need to read it? Must I be 10 to read it or is it also okay to first be an adult and have more understanding of the huge words.
Can you read an English translated Quran without wudu?
No. The Arabic language doesn't make it sacred, the fact that is the word of GOD does. Do the wudu. Actually I feel that any holy book should be treated with respect and wudu performed before reading it. But that is me.

Islam can i read surah mulk in english?
According to many muslims, Arabic is considered as the pure language and one of the reasons for that is because the quran was 'revealed' in Arabic. English is spoken by the kaffirs and thus it is not a pure language. Now why do you want to use English an 'impure' language?

I'm not muslim and I want to read the Qur'an, do I need to do all the steps before I read it?
Well first learn that the Quran is not a Story book but a book of Guidance. The translation you read does not translate word by word as the Arabic(original) text are written in Poetic forms unlike any Arabic book or article. It mostly translates the interpretation but interpretations from Good Islamic Scholars are reliable or just visit a local Mosque in your area and they would explain to you. But remember before you walk in the Mosque, it is respectful to take off your shoes then walk in and wear modest clothing for self respect(scarf for only women, some Mosque provides.) If you accidentally do something that is not allowed but did not intend to know about it, You are innocent. You'll find some people judging about it but Prophet Muhammad would never judge and taught us to never Judge others. It is better to be cleaned up to read the Quran because it is a sacred book and should be held respectfully. What muslims do is to never lie it on the ground, Wudu before touching which is like cleaning your body with water, never put any other objects on top of the Quran. But as a non-muslim you don't have to do these but be respectful. This is pretty much it and you can read the Quran.
Do I have to do wudu before touching an english translated quran?
No .. But to be on safeside.. do wudu.. YOu should be in Wudu at all times.. y only for this situation.. All times.. It was a practice of our Prophet SAW so you should practice it too.
How long would it take me to read the entire quran?

Can I read the Quran in English rather than reading it in Arabic? Do we have any commandments in the Quran that we should read and spell it only in Arabic?
I’d like to say some point about this matter:we’d like to state that you are to be commended for your keen desire to read and understand Allah’s Word. You should know that there is no nobler endeavor than that. The Prophet (pbuh) said, “Those who attempt to read it with difficulty will merit double rewards.” (Reported by at-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud; also Bukhari and Muslim in their own words) Also, we advise you, to try to read the Qur’an in Arabic to gain the great benefit and reward of Allah for reading His Book, and read the translation of the Qur’an to grasp its meaning. As the Qur’an is revealed in Arabic, reading it in its original language entails great merits. The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever reads one letter of the Book of Allah, will have one reward for doing so, and every hasanah will be multiplied by 10. I do not say that Alif, Lam, Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.” “The reward mentioned in this Hadith is only for the one who reads the Qur’an as it is in Arabic, not for the one who reads the translation of the meanings in any other language. However, if a person reads a translation of the meanings in order to understand the meaning and benefit from what the Qur’anic verses are saying, then he will be rewarded for doing this, because the Muslim will be rewarded for reading tafsir (explanation and commentary of the Qur’an), and a translation is tafsir. But there is no indication that the person who reads a translation will earn the reward mentioned in the Hadith. The bounty of Allah is immense.”
