Fate Stay Night visual novel for Mac?
Hi, I just got finished watching Fate Stay Night, which, by the way, is an awesome show. My friend gave me his visual novel from his computer, but, sadly, it doesn't work on a Mac computer. Is there a version out there that DOES work for Mac, or some kind of software that I have to install to read visual novels? And please don't respond with an answer about a Windows Emulator. I'm not entirely willing to install them. Thanks!

How do the Fate visual novels compare to the anime?
I’n most cases, the anime is a fairly good adaptation of a VN. Furthermore it is easier to read and less time consuming. Examples of great adaptations are Clannad and Steins:Gate.Fate is quite possibly the worst ever VN adaptation to ever exist. Period.An incredibly deep multi faceted character (Shirou) is turned into a cardboard shounen character. The majority of details, descriptions and backstories that built the Type-Moon verse (The multiverse all fate stories takes place in, also dubbed the nasuverse) are absent.In the Visual Novel, the story broadly branches into 3 parts.The original Fate route (adapted in the fate 2016 anime) [This is the worst adaptation].UBW (the unlimited blade works route once again adapted into a 24 episode anime)Heaven’s Feel which is being adapted into 3 anime movies.Each off these routes are incredibly deep and explore a different aspect or possibility of the main character. With over a million words reading the VN is incredibly time consuming (can be 70+ hours depending on your reading speed) however in this case I strongly recommend you play the VN or skip the series altogether. With extremely deep concepts and multiple points of views, it is not a VN that can be read turning your brain off. (It takes effort!) However with some of the greatest writing/plot-twists/endings of all time it is definitely worth a read.The anime views as a poorly strung list of spoilers with both poor character and development. In other words watching it will simply ruin your experience and possibly bias you against the series as a whole. Even if you end up reading the VN later, your experience will most definitely be crippled. I cannot recommend watching it for any reason.However the anime was made as a high-budget shounen (for unlimited blade works), therefore the fight scenes (though quite a few of them triggered me for being inaccurate) looked really good. After reading the UBW route in the VN you may enjoy going back to the anime just to watch your favorite characters fight scenes in beautiful HD.If you do want an amazing anime (9+/10) taking place in this verse, the only two I can recommend areThe Garden of Sinners Movie SeriesFate/Zero - A prequel to the fate series adapted from a Light Novel. It will probably be a bit more enjoyable if watched after the first route of fate.
