Do Liberals Like The Fact That Democratic Politicians Are Losing Ground Not Just Internationally

How do liberals/progressives and Democrats propose to deal with the terrorism problem, as opposed to Trump’s solution?

What is a terrorism problem? Let me elaborate, making the point that if everything is terrorism, nothing is terrorism.Terrorism is a tactic/operational doctrine, not an ideology or a strategy. Most professionals define terrorism as attacks, usually by a non-state actor, on civilians, with the intention of producing a political result. Just killing a group because you don’t like them, but without a political objective, can be a hate crime or even genocide, but not terrorism. State terrorism is a different area. Mutual Assured Destruction is yet another doctrine. As I’ve said, terrorism is not an ideology, although too many people try to equate it to extreme Islamic groups. Consider, though:Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (originated modern suicide bombing)Assorted Irish Republican Armies (Provisional, Real, Official…)Irgun zvai LeumiChristian Identity MovementHukbalahapEOKA (Cyprus)Not a Muslim among them. Consider, though, the OPEC embargo on oil to the US — an economic approach by Islamic countries, but not especially terrorism.I do like to add the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and its wonderful acronym. As far as the salafist-jihadi subset, without necessarily agreeing with anything said by bin Laden, it is still worth studying the al-Qaeda manifesto, https://fas.org/irp/world/para/d... Some of his complaints involve the interactions of the US with Saudi Arabia and Israel, as well as the Saudis with other Islamic states. At first, bin Laden’s focus was not on the west, but on what he considered insufficiently Islamic states such as Saudi Arabia; Zawahiri had a similar concern with Egypt. Their joint concept, however, began to address impure Islamic states as the “near enemy” while the West and Israel were the “far enemy”, but actions against the latter, they believed, were more productive for their cause.Again, do not discount domestic right wing (political and/or religious) actions, as well of those of lone wolves of uncertain motivation.

Liberals (and Conservatives), why do lefties hate Bush so intensely?

This was by a poster on the History Channel message board - and this guy made a lot of sense - so I thought I would show you his post:

Why do Liberals hate President Bush so much?
By John Hawkins

Why do they hate him so much? They'll give you every reason in the book for it, but in my opinion, most of it is really all about four things:

#1) A lot of Democrats felt cheated after Gore lost in Florida. Were they cheated? Absolutely not. But, they FELT cheated and they got angry at Bush because of it.

#2) Many Republicans absolutely despised Bill Clinton and part of the animus towards Bush is just payback. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that this is really the primary driving factor behind the impeachment talk. They're desperate to try to impeach Bush, for anything and everything they can come up with, because the Republicans impeached Clinton.

#3) During the Vietnam war, the libs protested incessantly, they spit on soldiers, and they became radicalized. It's the same dynamic this time around, except back then, it was Lyndon Johnson who was really responsible for getting the war into full swing. So, there was more bi-partisan blame for them to spread around. The war in Iraq is Bush's war all the way and so most of the venom is getting aimed at him.

#4) The Democrats are out of power and that's making them more bitter, more willing to accept conspiracy theories, and more angry at the guy who has beaten them, George Bush.

Bonus Answer: The left has actually been nasty, angry, and vicious for a long time now. For example, they absolutely hated Ronald Reagan's guts and had few qualms about saying so. So, why didn't people notice it more back then? Because there wasn't a new media out there to report it and the old media, as they do today, protects "their side." A kooky or vicious comment by a liberal is much, much, more likely to be buried, minimized, or completely ignored by the MSM than a similar comment by a conservative. The difference is that now there's an alternative media that reports things that would have been swept under the rug 10 or 20 years.

Why do democrats or liberals hate oil companies and corporations in general?

They have been indoctrinated into class envy - being profitable is inherently evil. I am not saying that I think big money is without corruption, which gives need to have a party that distrusts them. But the Democratic party leaders, mainstream media, and Hollywood icons are all preaching this sermon, and are drowning out the moderates in their party who understand that these giants are part of what makes our country as great as it is.

Their other big justification for their hate is their wrong assumption that human actions are stronger than all the laws of the universe and that we are somehow able destroy our planet by means of our reliance on oil. Mother Nature is more powerful than that. It's only because of the reliance we have on the Mid-east that I strongly support research on alternative fuels.

Liberalism? Conservative? What do these really mean?

Wow...good job! Pretty much sums it up and yeah...prepare to be attacked with namecalling. I'm sure they are on their way!

Do liberals get offended by the term “leftists?” They are in fact left-wingers, so isn’t that term accurate?

Depends on what kind of liberal. If you call a social liberal a leftist, it should be no problem. They are in favour of more government spending, more equality (in outcome), and (generally) open border policies. This would make them centre-left, or left-wing and progressive, which would mean that leftist is the right word.If you call a classical liberal a leftist, it's getting difficult. Classical liberals are very close to libertarians, and are considered centre or centre-right. They are in favour of less government, more economic freedom and more social freedom. In Saudi Arabia, they could be considered left-wing, because of their social ideas. In the United States and Europe, we consider these people centrists, or right-wing if you live in a progressive social democratic nations (this is because of their economic policies). If you call a conservative liberal a leftist, you are wrong. Conservative liberals firmly believe in the free market. Socially, they are in favour of classical liberalism with a certain conservative framework, like culture and civic nationalism. Conservative liberals are right-wing. Good examples are the Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie in the Netherlands (more commonly known as the VVD, although it has a substantial social liberal base which is losing ground) and the PVV, the party of Geert Wilders, which also has a national liberal faction.National liberalism is a difficult one. National liberalism is like conservative liberalism, but more oftenly espoused to protectionism. It's focusses more on nationalism, national interests and social conservative politics, but still recognises that society is composed of individuals. Socially, they are more right wing, but economically not so much. They can be considered right-wing.Liberalism is not one ideology. There are a lot of them. It also differs per country of course. Personally, I wouldn’t like it if you would call me a leftist.
