Do My Transaction History Remain Unchanged When I Switch The Address Of My Bank Account To A New

My account has been transferred from one branch to another. And the bank account number will remain the same, doesn't it? Now, which branch's IFSC code should I use to transfer the money to that account?

Your account is transferred from one branch to another branch and the account number is same. This is possible under CBS environment and there is a change in the branch code. IFSC code is branch specific and if the IFSC code is wrong the credit will be rejected as per RBI guidelines. In your case you should mention the IFSC code of the new branch to which the account is transferred to get the money transfer.

Do I have to order new checks when I change addresses in the US?

No! This is not necessary. It is rare that people still use paper checks but in the case that you move it is up to you.As stated in other answers here, you may use online banking, ACH, or alternatively cross out old address and write new address in. This is a matter of formality more than a hard rule. As a matter of keeping your accounts safe, banks like to be sure all of the account owners information remains accurate. This includes the address on your checks which should match the address on your account.Worst case scenario, you lose your checks and someone uses them with old address. You may still report fraud or confirm which you wrote or did not write. I would not worry about it much.Hope this helps!

How can I change the billing address on my chase account?

Is your billing address different than your mailing address?
Usually, billing and mailing addresses are the same. You receive your bills at your mailing address.
Are you instead saying, you've changed your home address but need to change your mailing address? Because, a lot of times, people can't have their mail sent to their home so they have a different address for their mail.

How do I transfer my Vijaya Bank account from one branch to another without going to the home branch?

Hey!For transferring a bank a/c from one branch to another doesnot require any visit to the home branch. You can directly go to the branch in which you want your a/c to be currently and ask for “Account Transfer Request Form” from any over-the-desk personnel. Here are some general guidelines regarding account portability:1. Different banks have different procedure. Check with your bank and ask for the specific procedure. I have provided the process of some of the banks I have interacted with.2. If you have submitted valid and up to date KYC documents to your previous branch, no need to submit them again in the new branch.3. When you transfer your bank account from one branch to another, your account number, customer id etc will remain the same.4. You will be able to use your IB facility as usual and you can continue to see all previous transactions, payees etc from the previous branch.5. Most banks will issue you a fresh cheque book with your new address printed on it.6. If your address is changed, you will need to submit new address proof document.7. If yours is a join account, both account holders must sign the application.8. You may use this same procedure to convert an NRE account to a Savings account.9. Some banks require that you must surrender your cheque books, pass book and debit card before you can transfer your account. However, most banks will allow you to keep the credit card since that is not really linked with your specific to the location of your savings account.Hope this helps!!

Does My Bank Account Routing Number Change If I Change My Address?

I bank with Chase. I used to live in NJ but I moved to NYC about a month ago and I updated my address with Chase from NJ to my new address in NY. I want to sign up for direct deposit with my job and they need my account and routing number. I don't have any checks to find out my routing number so I looked on Chase website and they have routing numbers by regions. My routing number was always the one for NJ but now that I changed my address do I use the routing number for NY instead? or do I still use the one for NJ? I heard routing numbers are based on the region where you OPENED your account NOT your home address so would I still use my NJ routing number?

Can I keep my old credit card when switching to a new bank?

Bank accounts and credit cards are separate so you can close one and keep the other -- I highly recommend keeping that card open with your old bank since it'll look good on your credit report (just close your checking account)

With credit cards you'll get a monthly statement which will include your account number (which is your CC number) and a payment address (where you send the payment to)

When you open a new checking account with your credit union they'll have free online billpay so just add your credit card info on there (account number and payment address) and your credit union will send a payment to your CC when you tell them to. Make sure you send the payment a few days before your due date so its not late -- your credit union's online billpay system will tell you when the payment will get there

Edit: Just to clarify, you can keep your CC open with your old bank but you cant transfer/move that CC over to your credit union. If you want a CC from the credit union then you'll need to apply for a new CC. You can keep your old CC and apple for a new CC from the credit union if you want to (having more than 1 credit card is not a problem), but if you're happy with your old CC then just keep that one (you can pay the bill each month from your credit union checking account using their billpay system)

Can I keep my bank account when moving to another state?

You definitely can keep it. I also have an account with Bank of America and the account was open in Texas and I never lived in Texas. I opened the account on-line and when you do that they'll open the account in any operating branch in the country. Bank of America is everywhere and it doesn't matter what state opened your account.
