In what countries do people not care about a politician’s marital status?
In India people don’t care much about politician’s marital status. Most of the states in India have political parties dominated by men, and they do not face the same scrutiny as women politicians. It is more like the Indian society the women are put under a lot of scrutiny than men. A man in India can be cheating in a relationship but that is fine if he has a good job and is wealthy. But an INDEPENDENT WOMAN who is brutally raped is a social outcast. An average Indian politician is a man with lot of money and mostly poor education therefore they have a pass to fly under the radar. It is also surprising that if a politician is caught in an extramarital affair, his fellow politicians don’t call him out on it. It is an underlying rule among politicians I guess not to get exposed upon such illicit affairs as most of them have one. Many of these politicians are goons so if you want to talk about them you should have all your bases covered. This is a major reason why even Government officials like IAS and IPS officers who are better educated fear these incompetent uneducated goons.

If you keep up with the politic news in my country, you’ll find many of them are people without integrity. I don’t say all politicians are bad but if you round up ten politicians, you’ll only find one or two honest politicians who really care about the people and put the interest of nation first and the remaining are nothing but opportunist who seek profits for themselves and their groups only.Politicians in my country will do all in their power to get voters and sometimes they act like bunch of idiots to win the support of people. They will even use religion to serve their interest, spread fake news and play victims to win the sympathy from people.In Indonesia, politicians are notorious with their motto which is “ there is no right or wrong, what exists is only an interest ”
Why do our politicians care more about destroying the other party than helping our country?
Each political party has a different vision for the country and they disagree on what policies are good for society. What one party wants is usually in direct conflict with what the other party wants. So politicians will fight for power to ensure their idea of what’s good for America is the one that becomes a reality.

Why is the party more important than the country for opposition politicians?
What is the purpose of opposition parties? As the name suggests, they are there to oppose the ruling party. This ensures that whatever decision taken by ruling party is good for the country and is not one sided decision. This is very essential for a democracy such as us to function properly. Now coming to your question, sometimes personal or party's ego becomes more important than country's needs. This usually happens when they know that whatever decision taken or bill passed will give ruling party an edge over them. This also happens when its against their ideology. If you are observing politics closely, you will know how many times opposition parties opposed ruling NDA government. But when something is very important like, when Nirbhaya case terrorized whole nation, all parties came together to pass a bill wherein incase of grave crimes criminals above 16 can be treated as adults not juveniles. A democracy will not survive without healthy participation from all quarters. Opposition parties are means of keeping ruling party in check. Sad thing is sometimes parties' stand becomes more important than country's welfare.
