Do Servers At Howl At The Moon Make Good Tips

How much do servers make at applebees in tips?

I'm going to be starting a job waitressing at applebees soon and I was wondering on average how much I could make in tips per shift? I will be working day shifts and night shifts. It's a location outside of boston if that helps. Any information will be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

On average, how much do food servers make per hour including tips?

hi! i'm a server at a Denny's in Michigan, right off the highway (city of only about 50,000) and i've served at least six months in, and rotated through, all three shifts in about 2 years of employment~firstly, my typical two-week check from the company is only ever up to around $15.00— that’s right: Fifteen Dollars, for 2 Weeks—but the vast majority of my checks are usually $0.00. this is because i claim much closer to my actual wages than most servers, so the taxes taken by the government actually consume my entire 35–45-hr (sometimes even 50 hours, waiting tables!) company paycheck.~*that said*~my 1st shift week usually went as such:Wed, 7:30am-3pm ~ $140Thu, 8:30am -2:30pm ~ $115Fri, 5pm-10pm ~ $125Sat, 10am-7pm (this frequently turned into 10am-10pm) ~ $160-$250Sun, 9am-4pm ~ $130some servers are efficient, and some servers rely on personality; the best is a blend of both. however, i'm only a moderate multitasker, so i don't turn tables as quickly as some of my peers, but i am considered one of the “stronger” servers in our restaurant.on average, i've come to expect roughly $650-$700 a week from tips alone, not having any real check to cash.now, my guest check average is usually ~$10.50 at a chain diner in a fairly quiet town (that's per guest, not per table), and usually end up with an average tip of about 22% of sales, and generally expect to make $18-$20/hr! once i was the only server in the restaurant, and my manager was the only cook for an… unexpectedly hectic Monday evening, which are normally very slow, and earned around $30/hr (not bad for remembering to refill drinks for a living)!if you were to ask a server in a 5-Star fine dining establishment or something along those lines, i wouldn't be surprised to hear numbers even thrice mine!hope this helps! :)

How much do model cocktail servers make in Las Vegas on average, including their base salary plus tips?

What a lot of people don’t realize is that Las Vegas is a very low wage city. There are a few billionaires, a few hundred millionaires and a fairly small middle class, but more than half the population is struggling on minimum wage or less. Even the high tech jobs here pay 20% to 40% less than comparable jobs elsewhere in the country. A full time (40 hour) minimum wage hourly job pays less than $18,000, and most consider themselves lucky to get 30 hours. Cocktail servers are definitely at the low end of the scale. They depend on tips, as do dealers, and tips are pooled, paid as wages and taxed. I can’t see a cocktail server making $50k, at least not legitimately. Of course, there are many illegitimate opportunities in a party town.

What chain restaurant gets the best tips as a server?

I can’t speak for the world, but I have a theory that it is Chili’s. Mostly I hold this theory simply because we have one in our airport here that is always busy and can serve alcohol at any time.Keeping that in mind, they also have awesome tequila drinks on which I think the servers make great tips. This is a hunch I have. I have been meaning to get a part time job here, but it’s hard to get in— looks like the servers have no intention of leaving.

How much money in tips do waiters make at nice restaurants?

This is from a very nice bistro in a downmarket town. I've done dirty doubles:Sat open brunch and die then death of s thousand orders. Opening is a lot of prep work and brunch orders are RIDICULOUSY picky and you make money by turning tables.Breakdown brunch and set the room for dinnerStay to the end of dinner service and closeBest ever - $3,800 in sales X 28% (very rare) - 25% tip out$1,064 in tips - $266 = $79815 hours at below min wage (US tip wage)15 X $4.00hr = $60Total $858In a major market, in a high-end place, I'm told we could be looking at ringing over $5,000 in sales. You do the math

Do waiters at high end restaurants make more money than waiters at normal restaurants, without taking tips into account?

In my experience, yes. Waiters at 3-star Michelin restaurants make more than waiters at Olive Garden. For a few reasons:Waiters at high-end restaurants are doing a more highly skilled job than waiters at an ordinary restaurant. You see this in the end result, a level of service that is above and beyond what you will ever see at a lower-priced restaurant.Waiters at high-end restaurants have more experience as waiters, they do not hire people with no skill or experience and train them. You don’t see waiters hang around at lower-end places forever; they work their way up or they move on to a different profession. If they do stick around, they are not very good at their job. At the higher ends of any profession you will find more highly paid workers. At high-end restaurants, more than one waiter serves your table, so the tip is going to be split among as many as five waiters, in addition to tipping out the kitchen. To make up for this, and to retain the best staff, the restaurant must pay more. This is all in a gradient along the line from the 3-star Michelin places down to the mass-market chains where service is a vague idea that basically means they carry your food to your table.Waiters at high-end restaurants do make more in tips, because the bill is higher. Again, this is expected because the level of service is higher.Keep in mind that none of this means you do not need to tip in a restaurant where service is not included in the price. If you are unhappy with your meal or the service you were given you should ask to speak to the manager.

About how much money does a waitress at a middle class restaurant (for example, Applebee's) earn per hour?

$10 to 20 per hour, average/typical 12 to 15. The main variable is her skill and personality.
