Do The Cars In Gta 5 Feel Slow

Is 1.7 GHz with 4 GB RAM slow?

Hi Chris:
To answer your question properly, we need a bit more information. The main peice of missing information we need to answer your question is what type of cpu do you have. You mentioned 1.7 GHz, but you are not includeing several other important specs about your cpu. We need the manufacturer, the type/name of the cpu ie. Intel i7-2600; you have already included the speed of the cpu by providing 1.7 GHz, but it would also be nice to know the cache size and what socket it fits into.

4 GB of RAM is considered a decent amount of RAM so you are good in that department. How old is this computer, and what type of video card with this computer have. Once you supply this additional information, you will get an accurate and reliable answer to your question.

Why does the GTA 5 map feel smaller than the GTA in San Andreas?

Even though it may feel smaller, but physically, it is not. Here is a comparison (Please ignore the Just Cause 2 map, my favorite game):The game just feels smaller, because of an element called “Draw Distance”. Back when San Andreas was launched, computers weren’t as powerful like today. So, to save RAM space, the game would simply draw a small area around you, and when you move further, it deletes the area from its memory, and draws the area currently around you, and it goes on. Furthermore, it covers up the distance with clouds and fog, so it doesn’t fell empty and unnatural. Even today, this is absolutely necessary, because not everybody has a supercomputer, but the draw distance is much larger now, so the game draws a lot more area around you. This, allows the player to see further. That’s why, because of San Andreas’s foggy makeup, you would feel like there’s something far beyond your eyesight, but in GTA 5, your brain tricks you into thinking the world is small, because you can see much further, like in real life. Also, cars, planes, bikes, helicopters, boats, everything was much slower in San Andreas, than in GTA 5. So, when your vehicles are slow, you feel like its taking too long to reach Point B from Point A, so you think the map is large, but the actually reason is that your car is too slow. Also, the in-game time in San Andreas is 1hr for 1 real minute. Meaning, in 24 minutes, you pass a whole day in San Andreas, whereas, in GTA 5, it takes 48 minutes for an in-game day to finish, meaning, 2 real minutes equal 1 in-game hour. This factor also causes you to believe that the time is passing quickly, so the map must be larger in San Andreas, but it isn’t.Finally, a picture to prove all of the above, as a picture speaks more than a 1000 words. From the above picture, you can see how what you think is very far in San Andreas, is actually very close to you, but the game’s foggy effect makes you think as if its too far.I hope I helped. Why do cops in GTA want to kill you when you hit their car?

In GTA 5, this behavior is a possibly unintended side effect of other design decisions in the game, and I feel that it’s not as simple as what other commenters have claimed. I’ll answer using GTA 4 and 5 as my reference, since I have significant play time in those games.First of all, the “standard” response to a collision with a patrol car in GTA is for the cops to assign you one star and try to arrest you. In single-player, this is easy to test. Simply take any main character out driving, and crash into a driving patrol car. (Note: unlike GTA 4’s cops, the cops in GTA 5 rarely patrol, so you may need to make a 9–1–1 call to get one to show up.) After the collision, you’ll get a one-star wanted level. If you don’t flee, the cops will exit their vehicle with guns drawn, approach your car, and drag you out for an arrest. The “BUSTED” effect will play, the screen will fade to black, and you’ll wake up outside the nearest police station missing cash (and maybe guns too - I can’t recall, since my wanted levels rarely stayed at one star). This is similar to the behavior of cops in GTA 4, and Rockstar seems to have kept the “arrest on one star” rules in place mostly unchanged from that game. But wait, if the cops in GTA will merely arrest you for hitting their car, why is the asker convinced they try to kill you? Well, my guess is that they’ve been playing GTA Online. This is the multiplayer mode of GTA 5, and it involves a great many changes to the game world, intended to make multiplayer work better. Traffic and pedestrian densities are lowered to reduce connection sync issues; some visual details are tuned down for performance; and many other small changes are present. The most important for our discussion is this: cops in GTA Online will never try to arrest you. They always go for the kill. This was almost certainly done because the designers of GTA Online didn’t want to implement an arrest system for Online players. Maybe they decided it would be too tedious to lose your gear every time. Maybe they felt it would be better to have only one method of losing to the cops. Whatever the reason, their decision has side effects anywhere a one-star wanted level is given: now those incidents are lethal. So to answer the original question: the cops in GTA don’t want to kill you when you hit their car - unless you’re playing GTA Online, in which case they try to kill you because their non-lethal response is disabled.

Why do I think GTA IV sucks?

I pre-ordered the game having never played the other three Grand Theft Autos, and now that I have it, I really hate it. I love the idea of free roam, hate the graphics and gameplay.

Fighting is so choppy and cheesy, it always seems the same and its like one button and one attack all the time.
Driving is decent, but cars slide way too much ruining the fun getaways and drivebys.
Shooting has a clunky feature of lock on and I just cant stand it (even without auto aim, it just doesnt do it for me).

I havent played through the whole game but just cannot understand how it can be good with all these basic problems. Is there anyone else out there who feels at all the same? I am pretty good at the game by the way, I never fail the missions and stuff, so it is not because im bad.

Gta 5 driving physics?

Because the driving mechanics and car damage in GTA IV, were a step in the right direction. It was what made every chase unique and complex. It took skill to drive and better it looked completely realistic in the way the cars moved.

Now.

The new mechanics? The driving looks cartoonish. This is a step backwards. Now if you crash a car, do not expect fantastic damage detail, instead you will get the same type of damage as you would from any normal racing game. So every car is essentially a tank now. Why has this been done? Apparently a lot of people were complaining, this group of people consisted of children and people who were just generally bad at the driving and used to pathetic racing games that weren't realistic.

So.

Why are people so angry? The driving has been simplified for children and bad drivers. The driving now looks actually terrible and cheap in comparison and not to mention jerky, whereas the GTA IV driving looked realistic and smooth. Several people I know are that pissed off, they have cancelled their pre order and even I have considered cancelling.

The reality of it is, the people who did not like GTA IV cars and driving, were simply bad at the game, they had no skill when it came to driving.

Now more children can enjoy GTA V. Whereas the older and proper audience will be turned off.
