Do Those Who Support The Aca

Do you support Trump's attempt to repeal Obamacare?

It takes time to realize that Trump’s promise to repeal Obamacare was made to please Republicans and get them to change from opposing him (during the convention we saw some of this happening) to supporting him. This is why those who voted for Trump are not necessarily supporting Trump on this - it’s being created and promoted by Republicans, not President Trump. All that Trump is doing is fulfilling his promise to Republicans. Now consider: the Clinton health care plan of the 1990s didn’t even make it to a vote. Obama’s health care plan made it through Congress into law. It ran into immediate technical problems and it took time to gain enough subscribers before it began to “work” and show what turned out to be built-in weakness. It’s been the Republicans from the start who want to repeal Obamacare. And now they’re (stupidly) creating the same kind of plan with the same built in weakness. Incredible: and it’s most interesting that American politicians don’t seem able to talk about the real solution to the built in weakness.US health care costs about 50% more than the next-nearest country (on the list of most expensive to least). That’s up to 70% more expensive than some of the countries the US counts as close allies. I’ve seen two estimates of the per-person cost, one is $9900 per person per year and the other is $10,000. Even the relatively credible Obamacare managed to get that extra cost down to about $3400 - but it’s still unaffordable. That’s what we are being charged - way too much. And that’s regardless of which plan you choose to pay that cost for yourself, maybe for your non-working spouse and definitely if you have minor dependents. There are several countries which have had sustainable and affordable plans for decades - it’s because in those countries they are not paying exorbitant prices to the suppliers of medical care. Who did I say is charging too much? The suppliers of medical care in the United States - which PROTECTS those suppliers from price competition.

Did the big media that supported Obamacare ask those that voted for it, if they read it, and why not?

Why haven't we all heard the ones that voted for Obamacare come out and explain the reasons why it failed?HUH?I mean, what?!The statement is a flagrant, thinly veiled Push questionThe supposition this question is based around is patently falseYou can’t make something true by acting as if true, supposing that falsehood in your question.Obamacare is an incredible-successEven when a republican tries to make believe it’s not working, begging for “horror stories”, Republicans asking for ‘Obamacare horror stories’ backfires miserably .Now, if you actually believe the republican reps/and or fox news making believe it’s a failure, those doing their level best sabotaging the law, then your push question is probably not deliberate, so I’ll point something out for you; It’s such a success, even in republican districts where the rep did his very best to sabotage the law, the constituents are livid their republican rep is trying to take it away from them.Their constituents are so angered, the republican rep has no choice but to vote against repeal and against the replacement! Those are republican reps finally admitting their constituents love the affordable care act.The above is common knowledge and old news, the ACA does a better job than even liberals hoped, though we would have preferred a public option or single payer, it’s still far better than what was there before.Lowering premiums for the vast majority of those using it, giving better coverage, including coverage for those who could have never gotten insurance, families no longer go bankrupt and take your money through public assistance when something life threatening happens, keeping them off of public assistance and saving the government and you moneyIt’s a spectacular success that will get even better when the republicans stop sabotaging insurance for everyoneThey need to stop sabotaging insurance for everyone, if they want to fix the incredibly few issues with the law, without putting our money in their rich donors pockets through tax give away to the wealthy, then they can finally say they did something positive for their constituents instead of their donors.

Is it normal that I support Obamacare as a Republican?

Q - Is it normal that I support Obamacare as a Republican?A - I am sorry Charles, but I must say, it is not normal to support anything that was so poorly designed from its beginning, as to be designated unsustainable. (Republican or Democrat)You may be one of the lucky ones, who is supplemented by the taxpayers. So, at least for the moment you have a low-cost plan. To be the right plan, it must be a plan that is good for all the people, and written soundly enough that it can be sustained over time. What about “We the People” who have seen premium increases on average of 50%. How about the people in Arizona who are paying an increase of 116%. Or the people in Louisiana who are now paying an increase of 150%.Aetna will be dropping ACA Plan coverage as of next year. In many states they are the only carrier. How many millions will be without coverage when those states are dropped. Will you still be satisfied with your coverage then. How about beyond that, when the Obama Care Plan implodes. (and it will) How many millions will be without coverage then. (and they will)No Charles, we must look at the Big Picture here. If the ACA was sustainable. (written so it could be maintained over the years) “It is NOT!” If it were, then of course there would have to be much more consideration offered! However, After Obama Care, there is Nothing! If we do not plan now, for what we are going to do then, we shall find ourselves, “Up that Proverbial River” Without that “Proverbial Paddle.”Let us, for the moment now look at “Medicaid.” In the beginning, this plan was written to be sustainable. (Fine) Now, Enter: (Barack Obama) He made Medicaid available to another extended group of people which it was not originally designed for. Thus, making this, Also Unsustainable! What the Trump Plan is trying to do is put some limits on the plan which would make it sustainable again. Problem is: Once you have given away FREE, (Obama) it then becomes very difficult if not impossible to put limitations on same.Respectfully Submitted: , , , , Captain Henri D. Why do democrats support the Obamacare? Why do republicans oppose it?

Generally, Democrats support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) because they think that the benefits of the Act outweigh the costs. Democrats generally believe that ObamaCare will result in universal health insurance coverage. They also believe that mandating such coverage from the federal level will solve the problems of healthcare access and affordability.

Generally, Republicans oppose the law because they believe that it will not do what it is intended to do (improve healthcare in the United States) and will actually exacerbate problems with cost and access. Further, Republicans argue that the mere existence of the Act undermines notions of federalism and the proper role of government. They believe that it is a federal encroachment on what is typically a state issue or even, more narrowly, a personal decision.

What percent of Trump supporters didn't know Obamacare is the same as the ACA?

What percentage of Clinton supporters didn’t know that the ACA forced men to get pregnancy and prenatal coverage? What percentage of Clinton supporters didn’t know that the ACA actually raised premiums for the young and healthy in many jurisdictions? What percentage of Clinton supporters didn’t know that many insurance companies are ditching ACA all together? What percentage of Clinton supporters didn’t know that the ACA did not lower emergency room visits?I could go on but I am not trying to make fun of Clinton supporters. Many people actually experienced the ACA first hand and became Trump supporters because he was the only one who said it is a disaster.

Why does the GOP not support the affordable care act/the individual mandate to buy insurance?

I googled “effectiveness of the individual mandate” and found this item submitted to the Ways and Means committee: Link Disclaimer: Apparently the author works at a conservative think tank.So you can and should read this. In my opinion, my words, the Individual Mandate is just an ineffective failure. The ACA policies are NOT affordable and the copays, deductibles, coinsurance, etc. are high, which makes these policies a very poor value to the ‘young and healthy’, and those people are simply not going to sign up for expensive policies that will usually not cover anything. They know their money is used to pay for other people’s health care costs, and they won’t personally benefit. If they do get sick or injured, they will pay many thousands of dollars before their insurance pays anything. And they will pay a lot of money for these policies that year after year will pay nothing for them. So, they gamble they will not need insurance and don’t sign up. They eat the fine, or find ways to game the system. And there are lots of ways to game the system. I was talking Thursday to a VP at a major health insurance company ( quite a coincidence I met her at Thanksgiving and we chatted about this.) And as she put it, people can sign up for ACA, make one payment, quite making payments, and they are still covered for several months. So guess what smart people do.Or they wait until they need it, then they might quit a job and claim a life change event and sign up then, then quit making payments after they get treated. So, again, Google “How to game the ACA” and I found this: Gaming Obamacare. This is from Politico, not a conservative think tank, and it discusses those items I just mentioned. My discussion with that insurance executive did lead us to one agreement, that the ACA did bring insurance to a pool of people who desperately needed it, those people with preexisting conditions. But IMO, it would have made more sense to not do the ACA, which I called a Rube Goldberg system, and instead we should have found a way to accept them into Medicare or Medicaid and yes, taxpayers would have to pay for it. But I suspect it would be cheaper than all the hidden and not so hidden costs of the ACA, and would have been better than that horrible monstrosity of a health care law.
