Do Universities Take Night School/summer School Courses Seriously

How do I catch up seriously on high school credits?

I am going to be a junior in high school as of September. I am currently going into the year behind on 40 credits (5 credits per class per semester)

I am enrolling in Summer School this summer and next so, I'll potentially be caught up on 20 credits.

That leaves me potentially going into my junior year behind 30 credits and senior year behind 20.

What kind of options are out there for someone in my position?

i.e. Adult (NIght) School, Independent Study, etc, etc.

Anyone who knows what I am going through or can help, please please please answer!

Thank you.

What happens if you get into a summer school and don’t go?

All if the stuff that everyone else has said plus two more - You have taken up the space that another student who needed or was serious about it would have taken. Thank you so much for being selfish and irresponsible. And two, you are adding to your mode of operation (MO) as being not dependable. So, let’s review, selfish, irresponsible and not dependable (which is much like irresponsible). If you got in, then go or withdraw.

What classes should I take in high school?

I really really want to and need to get in a good college, and I am from a foreign country, by the way I'm Asian, I've heard Ivy Leagues have a limited number for Asians to get in. I want to be outstanding, but I just don't know how 'cuz I came from China in 2010, so I'm still not familiar with how schools, especially high school working. I'm a 9th Grader, and I take classes like this:
9th Grade Healthful Living
Marketing I
English I
Honors Geometry
Japanese I
Honors Biology
World History

I didn't take Honors because my counselor said I was too late to change my schedule when I was gonna change it. So I'm planning to take some far more challenging courses:
10th Grade
during summer: honors Algebra II, German II
AP Statistics
AP Art History
Honors English II
Honors Advanced Precalculus
AP Japanese (or Japanese III, I am planning on skip levels but I realized Japanese is not that easy)
Honors Chemistry
Honors Civics and Economics
online: AP Computer Science A

11th Grade
AP Physics C Mechanics
AP Physics C Electricity/Magnetism
AP English Language and Composition
AP Calculus BC
AP World History
AP Environmental Science
AP US History
online: AP Music Theory or something starting with AP, Honors German III

12th Grade:
AP Biology
Honors Biology Lab
AP Chemistry
Honors Chemistry Lab
Honors English IV
AP English Literature
AP US Government
Online: during summer Honors German IV, and year long course AP German V during school days
By the way, I can take some college courses during the summer before Senior Year.

I don't know if it's possible to take that much APs, I've heard it's very hard. What do you think? Do you think it's worth it? Do you think I should take IB courses? And what else should I do other than just taking classes?

Graduating high school early?

Fill up your spares with your classes from the next year, or even take summer school, though taking classes you never had before is expensive.
You could probably manage to graduate a year or two early, but it'll be pretty difficult and expensive.
Well not sure how many classes you'll be having a day or how your schedules works now, but I can explain this with mine.. Not sure if this can for sure work but if you plan it out like this you'll either graduate early or have very little classes in Gr12..
In my school we have 5 classes a semester, so 10 a year. But since you need at least 32 [I believe, it always goes up] credits to graduate, you have to have the 5[here its 5..] main courses, 3 extra classes, so in total 8 credits a year. With 8 credits, here that leaves 2 spares.. you're going into gr10? Then fill those 2 extra spaces with 2 gr11 classes. Then if you take a morning and afternoon summer school class, which would be 2 more grade 11 courses, you'll already be done 4. When you're in grade 11, you can knock off those 4 and put in your other 4 Gr11 classes that you'll need, and get 6 of your Gr12 classes. I believe that leaves you with only 2 more classes.. Which you COULD take in summer school I THINK. I'm not sure how Gr12 courses and graduating work out with summer school, but if you'd fill up your schedule completely and take summer school you could probably finish a year early..

If you know a second language it's possible to earn 4 extra credits by taking an oral/written exam.
Also, some schools offer online courses.

Though, it IS possible to take one of those faster High School Educations. My friend is pregnant and in Gr10, but she went to some sort of faster education to get her high school diploma. Ask a counselor.

What happens if you get a D in high school?

Hello friend,

Its not the end of the world. You are still a living breathing person that has a passion. Am I right? Get yourself into overgear and get a reasonable life. You might have dreams and aspirations, but what happens when you are stuck? Do you settle with what you have or due you pursue your goal. Answer that question.

Best thing to do is to talk to people that can alter your path. You might not be confident enough to talk to guidance counsellors and the right people with the right networks.

The key is to understand where you are and ask yourself what you are willing to do now and a day from now.
