Do We Need A Bigger Government

Big government or small government?

Do you think having more government in our lives is good like liberals think? (Obamacare, more taxes, spread the wealth, etc.)
OR
Do you think having less government involved in our lives like conservatives think would be better? (work for your own benefits, capitalism, free market, etc.)
Why or why not, provide reasoning and maybe some examples, share your thoughts!

Why is government so big ?

what are the political implications of big government? More power for the government.

and who benefits from it ? Big government.

The #1 goal of a bureaucracy is to maintain the bureaucracy.

Statism: Thinking that a government who creates $19 trillion in debt is better at managing your money than you are.

Can big government be trusted?

Since this question is tagged with US Federal government, I'm going to assume that this big government is democratically elected. In that case it all depends on the quality of public opinion. The real question becomes: can the average voter be trusted? I am afraid the answer is as clear as it is alarming.

IS Corporation bigger than the government?

All of them together are far bigger than the government.

Doesnt bigger government mean better government?

NO!!!!!

It means more hurry up and wait until the "Government decides it is okay, a bunch of bureaucrats who have never had a real job who get paid to throw up road blocks and speed bumps in ones' everyday life....

It is not what "We the People" have envisioned for our generation and for future generations...

People must be free to succeed or fail; without those two elements We fail to grow as a nation...for we will not learn from our mistakes nor will learn from our success...I am to old to be a slave to the government.

Think about it, exactly what good has come from Politicians and government, nothing that I have seen or experienced in my lifetime that makes me want to go along with these over-educated buffoons that could not find their way out a paper sack with a flashlight and a pocket knife...

Pros & Cons of Big Government?

I'm writing a research paper on the pros and cons of big government in terms of the economy.
I need 5 pros and 5 cons. So far for pros I have: Welfare which would include healthcare, Subsidies, Job Security and the Control over Monopolies. For cons I have: High taxes, Government spending causing shortfalls or recessions, Debt, and the Prevention of private businesses to gain wealth (Laissez Faire).
What else can I add? Or change.

Why are Liberals in favor of big government?

Liberals are in favor of big government because that is what communism is all about, the state control of its citizenry.

Liberalism is creeping socialism/communism. The state will tell you were to work, how much you make, where to send your kids to school, assign your daughter a husband (probably a minority); assign your son a wife (probably a guy); what kind of car you may own; what kind of clothes to wear (think fatigues as worn in Red China or Cuba); where you will live in a state run project (think Soviet Union); and will tell you the color of your skin AND all this will be paid for by your tax dollars.

And you cannot accomplish this in America unless you have big government, which is what the relentless liberal keeps pushing for - think the Democratic party, Obama, Clinton, Hollyweird.

Why is government necessary?

It is not simply necessary, it is unavoidable.
If you have something, and I take it because I'm bigger and stronger, that is a form of government.
If you have something, and you choose to share it, that too is a form of government.
You either choose the government you can live with, or you get the government you cannot.
