Do You Buy Games When They Are Cheap Or Do You Like To Stay Updated

Is it cheaper to pre order a game or to buy it after it's released?

In terms of physical game releases, per-ordering is actually more helpful than some think. Big AAA to smaller indie studios planning retail releases need to know how many copies to have made, so those pre-orders help them decide. Some AAA games already have certain big sales targets, so numbers over that end up used as bragging rights by publishers (which becomes a “shipped vs sold” issue that’s worth a post in and of itself). Now, we all know a AAA game these days never seems to “sell out” completely, but demand for popular titles sometimes outstrips availble supply in a few markets. One thing that’s a certainty is with most AAA releases, you’ll see plenty of cheaper used copies show up after a period of time. This statement doesn’t include holidays when hugely popular games shoot up in price for new and used copies thanks to those who need that big gift and will pay more for it.Both big and smaller publishers who don’t see many pre-orders on certain games may only have one run printed, making those games harder to find and thus more in demand later (meaning the price goes up in some places thanks to scarcity).Digital-ONLY pre-ordering has become common but is somewhat unusual because while it’s really not necessary (you don’t “run out” of digital codes for consumers), some titles allow for “pre-loading” games in order for those that pre-ordered to download and play them slightly earlier than those who don’t pre-order. In these cases, some publishers offer discounts and/or digital/physical bonuses to those who can’t wait, but the % off varies wildly from publisher to publisher.Back to cost for a second. If a game is reviewed poorly, in most cases, the asking price (MSRP) may drop fairly quickly for a new copy (whether it be digital or physical). In SOME cases where a game with a low physical print run has received poor reviews, the asking price of the physical version goes UP, but the digital price stays as-is thanks to not many retail copies existing, curious gamers or collectors snapping up all available copies, and a publisher needing to make a profit while they can at the MSRP.

When is the best time to buy tickets from StubHub?

As a previous employee on their analytics team, you generally want to buy the day of the event. Prices start to drop drastically as sellers realize they might not sell their tickets. For instance, I went to the San Francisco 49ers vs Green Bay Packers playoff football game two years ago for $15. The exact same tickets 48 hours before the game were selling for about $200 (24 hours before they were selling for $150). If you can, do what I did and wait till the last few hours. I bought about 2 hours before game time and paid next to nothing.Of course, keep an eye on the inventory of the event. If you wait till the last minute, you run the risk of the inventory running out. Prices are set entirely by supply and demand. More supply = lower prices; more demand = higher prices. Lastly, remember that you need to print your ticket at home. Most venues won't accept the PDF viewed from your smart phone (i.e., their ticket scanners can't scan it).

Which Pokemon game for Gameboy is the best? What's the difference between all the colors?

i'm 25. 18? pshaaaw! heh

red, blue, and yellow, the oldest games were fun... at their time. after playing updated versions, it was... difficult to stay in those games.

gold, silver, and crystal were quite fun - you can't trade from this version into later games because there are tons of messups in these games, but since they involve EV charts that you never have access to, go for them if you want - they are quite decent

fire and leaf are remakes of red and blue, and they are updated to include the new types of gold's era. also, they are compatible with other modern pokemon games. definately a plus

ruby, sapphire, and emerald are the games i would recommend. just pick any of the three, it really doesn't matter. although emerald is a little more updated. these three games have a storyline through the entire game to follow, which is why i would have you choose one of these.

there are spinoffs as well. including mystery dungeon, which takes an old game by some company that makes random dungeon games, and puts a nice storyline to it, and uses the moves of the pokemon quite well. this is definately a good game, if you have a nintendo DS. also, pokemon ranger just came out on halloween

animal crossing is not a pokemon game, but there is an element of collecting things in it that you might find addictive. it's a good game - better if you can get your DS online (it's also on the gamecube, but no online play) where you are new to a town, and you collect things like bugs, fish, decor for your house, etc..

Why is EA such a cheap bastard of a company?

Are you joking?! Battlefield 3 made like 7 Million dollars their first week. Modern Warfare made $400 Million in their first day. You honestly think they don't have enough money? Not to mention all the sales they will get in the future, all the DLC they will release.

Why would you use Steam instead of buying a real disk?

This is completely from an Indian perspective. I've been having a steam account for quite a while and just like you I was apprehensive before buying it but right now, I am very happy and satisfied. Here are a few reasons:I get to connect with like-minded peopleI have lots of friends but hardly any of them are gamers. So, I am always on the lookout for connecting with people who play/like the same games that I do. And you can't find such people on social media or in your university or at work. Steam becomes a platform for me to connect with such people. The steam forums then become a place to discuss on issues and game techniques and I don't need to go to any other place like IGN or Gamespy. You don't have to worry about losing your disc or damaging it.A lot of other answers have already mentioned this. As everything is on the cloud, you can just download it whenever you want. When I have steam, I have one less thing to worry about when I have to take a local train during peak hours in Mumbai. I would prefer to be more worried about preserving my cellphone and wallet alone. You get to play free exclusive demosAs steam users, you often get the opportunity to play latest games as demo versions and this is a whole lot of fun. You can play the game and figure out whether to spend money on it or not. Yes, you can know about demos of games from other sources too but with steam, you don't have to go looking for it. You log in and you get to know which games are available as demos for a limited period.Cheaper GamesDiscounts. Of course.Steam has great holiday offers and you can get games at very good prices during the holiday season and sometimes even if you pre-book them.I bought Counter Strike 1.6 for 4.99 USD. The usual retail prices in 9.99 USD.Counter Strike isn't a very expensive game, but still that is a straight 50 percent discount. You can resell the accountsFor some reason, you have decided to sell your games. Your girlfriend doesn't like you playing games. Your boyfriend might get depressed if you beat him.Having physical hard disk reduces the value of the games. But with steam you can just sell the whole account with all games in it. You can pretty much get the same value for it as the retail price of the games. A few people I know have already done this. There is a downside here that you may not be able to sell just one game and you would have to give up on your account completely. But still, you pretty much get a very good return on investment.

How do you stay occupied on long plane flights?

I have a 17 hour plane flight to South Africa in August (over 34 hours on a plane total). I don't want to take anything too expensive because we are staying in townships, and I know I won't sleep for most of the flight... I am a nervous flyer, so I don't get very far in books when I fly... What are good things to pass time on a long flight? Any tips to keep busy? Any crafts or puzzles that are good for flights?

From where can I get CS GO steam version for much lesser cost?

The top sites you can buy for comparatively cheaper prices are:G2A , they have great discounts on weekends.ReaperShop , they sell games at discounted rates.P.S. I have an extra copy of Counter Strike Complete edition (India), i can trade it with you for some other game or simply money.[Already Sold]

Should I build a PC for gaming or buy a PS4 Pro?

This question will trigger a console vs pc war. I'll tell you distinctly according to requirements.PC: Can range from cheap to very expensive according to specifications. Nevertheless to keep playing newer games, you'll have to keep putting in money to upgrade your components. That being said, games are dirt cheap and you can actually play At 4K 120 FPs and so on.PS4: One time payment is enough but games are expensive to buy. Some super cool exclusives like Uncharted and Red Dead Redemption(also on Xbox i suppose).I would recommend you buy the PS4 if you play mostly for fun. If you're into Competitive gaming or heavy multiplayer RTs games go for a PC.Cheers :)

Whats better madden 10 or 11?

Madden NFL 10 is a lot cheaper than Madden NFL 11, but you will not have updated rosters and they will stay the same forever without the new rookie class. Madden NFL 11 has roster updates every Friday at 8:00 AM and has improvements compared to Madden NFL 10.They have a new play-calling system titled "GameFlow" that enables the player to create a situational game plan based on down and situation, and is advertised to speed up playing time as much as one half of the total game time from previous years of "Madden". Another addition is "Online Team Play", which supports 3 vs. 3 cooperative play. Players can also scout opponents in online head to head games to gain a competitive advantage. Other changes from previous installments include a new kick meter, new audible system, and an improved locomotion animation system. Lighting improvements, run blocking changes, new QB ratings, and a new Old Spice "Swagger" rating have also been added to the game. They do have an Auto-Sprint feature but you can turn that off. They also have an Auto-Strafe feature which means if you hold A a computer will take control of your player(it's easy to make a tackle and stop on a man). I also really like that when you are running with the ball you can break away from defenders by just using the Left Stick alone and not all the juke, spin, and hit stick moves. I personally think Madden NFL 11 is the most advanced of all the Maddens and is definitely worth buying
