I do people argue that the weren`t that heavy but we are talking about the early 1970`s the were also the guys who first struck fear into the hearts of people who listened to country, disco, big bands they enhanced the image that black sabbath(unargueably a metal band)tried to set themselves then. Who would be considered the First Wave of Black Metal bands (thats pre Scandinavian scene)?
Even for me are these (I don't know Von, Master Hammer and Vulcan), I can add, if anything, Morbid tales and To mega therion by Celtic frost, Campo de exterminio by Holocausto, and In the sign of evil by Sodom.. (and maybe I'd put Sarcofago in the middle, between first and second wave).. First Ep's by Sabbat (Japan Sabbat), like 'Sabbat', or 'Born by Evil blood', and Treblinka (pre-Tiamat band, ep's like Crawling in vomits and The Sign of the Pentagram presents the traits you described).. ..do you know the Fenriz compilation on the old school black metal? Is Megadeth considered an 80's hair band?
Im currently making a DVD of tunes for a friend near 40 of 80's hair metal bands. Ive listened to Megadeth for about 2 years now, and after looking at alot of these bands, Im starting to wonder if one of my favorites is considered an 80's hair band or a metal band in the 80's like Slayer. Can anyone help me with this classification issue? Thanks.
