Do You Eat Spicy Food Regularly

Do Germans Eat spicy foods a lot?? is it normal or regular for them to eat "German food"?

Define "spicy food" please, if you will! ;))

Well, There are people who do like their food spicy - or even very spicy -, and will season even their traditional German food like that. There are people who do not like spicy food, and even shrink back from Traditional German spicy things like horseradish or strong mustard.
The influence from Italy on the German kitchen, so to speak, is a big one, though. When I lived in Mexico, the Mexicans complained to me that whenever I invited them over for dinner, I seemed to cook Italian for them. Honestly: Whipping up a sauce and cooking store-bought pasta is so much easier to do for a big group of people than trying to find pre-made potato-dumpling-dough in Mexico/USA/Canada/..... Or grating the potatoes yourself and going from scratch (ugh!).
Traditional German food is somewhat lengthy in preparation, which is why it is usually cooked only on the weekends, or on holidays. But having Frankfurter with potato salad for lunch during the week? Yeah. Pretty common. It's the lighter, more quicker dishes that are eaten more regularly, with here and there a dash of foreign spices put in as a acknoledgement to the "in-kitchen". Like potato soup with curry and shrimp instead of carrots and sour cream, or spicy lentils as side dish to steak and salad, instead of lentils as a soup.

And make no mistake: The German food you can get in the US is not the German food you can get in Germany. By a long shot. I was once supposed to be taken out to a German restaurant that was advertising "Sauerbraten with Sauerkraut and dumplings", as well as "potato pancakes with Weißwurst and apple sauce", among other atrocities. I declined to go there. Forgive my wording, but that was just a rape of the German kitchen traditions.

When can I eat spicy food and regular food after tooth extraction?

I had 7 teeth extracted on 1/22. All 4 wisdom and 3 back teeth. I got 3 of the wisdom teeth holes stitched up. I also got 2 cavities filled. It is now 1/26. I don t really have any pain. Just really afraid of getting dry sockets. I am craving food so bad. I haven t eaten barely anything in 6 days and lost about 15 pounds. I don t want soups and apple sauce or other foods like that. I want pizza and burgers and sandwiches and spicy sauces and french fries. Can I eat things like that yet? Can I eat on the extraction site where the teeth got taken out? If not when can I? What happens if I eat on the extraction site? Also when can I eat chips and tacos? PLEASE HELP! I m STARVING!!!!

Does eating spicy food cool you down?

As far as I can tell it does.  Many years ago a friend of mine told me of "Mexican Air Conditioning."  You take a 12 pack of beer up a hill with a tree on it.  Sit under that tree and eat a freshly picked jalapeno.  Uh-huh.  Eat that fresh jalapeno followed by some ice cold beer.  The jalapeno makes you sweat but the hilltop breeze cools you off on the outside.  The 12 pack of beer cools you off on the inside.  I think that works.  Actually after the 9th beer I don't remember but I think it may have worked.

How do people stand eating spicy foods?

I always like it hot. My eyes may water, I may sweat, I may even not want to talk, and if it's insanely hot, I might go for a drink, but ever since I was about two years old I would eat spicy things and ask for more, and that's never changed ever since. My girlfriend things I'm sadistic.

First, I eat a lot of spicy foods, so if we sit down and eat the same dish, it will barely phase me. I can still taste it, and I can still tell you that it's a spicy dish, but it will not burn me like it may burn someone else who does not eat spicy foods like I do. My oldest son and myself will sit down and eat up a spicy dish without stopping for a drink, while my girlfriend and my youngest son will take a hour to eat it and kill half the milk in the refridgerator to do so.

Second, I love the burn. I also love the taste of hot peppers. Constantly eating hot things has allowed me to build up a tolerance, but fortunately there are now ghost peppers, and scorpion peppers meaning there's always something hot enough for us chileheads.

It's also a great way to add flavor and make a boring dish exciting without using fat or sugar, and keep it healthy! Plus chili peppers themselves are very good for you -- heavy in vitimin A & C, boost your metabolism, and have even been shown to kill cancer cells! I quit smoking around the same time I started eating really spicy foods, and have actually lost weight!
