Do You Enjoy Listening To Half A Song

Do you enjoy karaoke? Singing or Listening to Others? Why?

Karaoke (in Japanese) means to sing out of key. I have been a musician for over 20 tears playing at local bars and clubs. One pretty funny story that happened to me was that while our 4 piece band was playing at a club a local soccer team that just got done playing (still in uniforms) came to the club and about a half hour later the opposing team came in and full drag down brawl broke out and the club had virtually no security. Needless to say we kept playing and the 2 teams trashed the club. About 20 minutes later the police came and attempted to arrest several of the players, but they pretty much all fled with bumps and bruises.

Do you enjoy listening to cheesy love songs when your other half is out of the house?

Since my only roomies are feline, I can and do listen to tracks (a genuine “song” is a rarity) that would make my musician friends turn away and pretend not to know me. Abba, Britney Spears, Gary Numan (besides “Cars”), one-hit wonders 1955-c.2000, Barry Manilow, “Float On”, “Muskrat Love”, The Osmonds, “Telephone Man”, (not to be confused with ELO's “Telephone Line”) etc., etc.Millennials, sorry if I let you down. As a Baby Boomer, the rock, pop, and dance that I grew up with has vanished. I go as far back as the 1920s, then the line blurs and disappears between 1990-2000.

How many times do I need to listen to a song to see if I like it?

I believe that "how many" is not the point. Try listening to a song that you really dislike as much as you want... Still hating it? Probably. And the worst part is that now you will randomly start "singing" parts of the song which will create a bigger discomfort. What I think that makes the click is "when" you listen to a certain song/artist. Try giving peas to a kid that hates them and do it several times. Poor kid will hate them more. Now, give him/her time to naturally explore peas as a side dish, in a salad, a soup, whatever. I have heard "I used to hate this" way too many times and it wasn't until they came across whatever it was on a non-forced situation to start liking it.

Do you have any Russian song you like to listen to?

I do have some files by Russian musicians, of course, but didn’t listen to them for ages. Аквариум (albums between 1979 and 1991), some songs by Оргия Праведников, Кукрыниксы, Кино, Ария, Браво… several albums of DDT (1993–1999, I guess). Also some songs by lesser-known bands: ГрАссмейстер, Северо-Восток, Календарь… Some older stuff — maybe five or six songs by Владимир Высоцкий, some songs by Татьяна и Сергей Никитины.Anyway, I just have that at hand, but not on my playlist.I never heard even a single song by Yegor Kreed, Grechka or Monetochka. I can’t tell Basta, Husky, Oxxymiron and Pharaon between each other (I know they are different but I don’t relate to what any of them raps about). I don’t listen to any Russian radio station, have neither a TV set nor an IPTV package nor a cable/satellite subscription, and clueless as to what popular Russian YouTubers are about. So, for your purpose the answer is negative: I don’t. I mostly prefer Japanese, Basque, Czech, Turkish, Flemish, Hungarian, Chinese, English, Irish and US songs. The majority of my listening time is taken by Japanese, I guess... including non-human singing. So I can tell you about the newest albums by the pillows or Gatibu, or the recent live of 二手玫瑰, but you living in Barnaul probably know Russian music, current and not so, much better than I do living in Moscow and spending 16 hours a day online.

Listening to songs played backwards or reversed?

Does anyone else enjoy listening to their fav songs reversed? I know i do. I even have the reversed lyrics for some of them. I go on Youtube all the time listening to them.

Can you believe that some people actually have the nerve to believe that all artists subliminally use reversed things in their music to get people to do things? All that satanic message crap. It can be too much sometimes. LOL
