Do You Feel More Safe Or Less Safe When Cops Are Around

Do you feel anxious or safe around police?

Anxious. I've had my fair share of horrible experiences with police. I've had guns drawn on me because I matched the description of some other guy. I've been pulled over because I looked “suspicious” even when I'm wearing my hospital scrubs and my ID tag.I almost got hit by a car and I reported them. The cop that showed up looked at me and instantly called for back up. I was the one who called them! He even kept his hand on his gun while I gave my report, apparently they use electronic recorders now. I asked him if this is how he treats all people, he said “yes.” I said he was full of shit, and that he should be wise to remember he's still a human being too. He didn't like that much.I was stopped by a cop while I was walking my dogs. He had no reason to stop me, but he questioned me as to where I live and where I was going, and he wanted to know where I was at a specific time. He even had the nerve to ask me for ID, which I don't carry if I'm just going for a walk. He told me I am required to carry ID. I asked him if I'm being detained, he became hostile stating he just wanted to chat. And I replied, I just wanted to walk. I don't need ID to walk my dogs.It is a really shitty mentality to have to think that everyone and their grandma is suspicious and warrants extreme care. No one can be trusted. Well, then I can't trust them. Many abuse their authority and their intent is sometimes malicious. Even when I'm going for a walk. I hate being seen as guilty first then innocent later. Then I'm guilty for being Asian with a shaved head and some tattoos. One of these days I fear I'm going to be tazered or shot just for being me.

I don't feel safe around guns, so I was wondering how do I disassemble a pistol if needed?

all models disassemble in a different manner. The various manufacturers tend to have similar dissassembly mechanisms in their similar products (for example, a glock 26, 19 and 17 all have the same takedown procedure), but there is too much variance to be able to explain how to take down any pistol.
Were you to come across one you needed to take down, I would suggest finding the model- its typically stamped somewhere on the slide- and just searching youtube for "[gun model] field strip"

First and foremost MAKE THE WEAPON SAFE- UNLOAD AND ACTIVATE THE SAFETY. there's really no need to disassemble a pistol just to make it "safe" as you seem to want to do, but it is important to unload it- virtually all semi automatics unload in the same way- release the magazine using a button typically located on the side or base of the grip or in the trigger guard then pull back the slide to clear the chamber. If you want, most weapons have a slide lock which will allow you to lock the slide in the rear position which shows that it is completely empty, and even if it were loaded it would be incapable of an AD from this position.

If you really don't feel safe around a gun, its probably best to just not even touch it. If you come across one, just leave it be (a weapon that's just sitting there is extremely unlikely to accidentally discharge on its own) and call someone with more knowledge and experience dealing with firearms. If theres a safety issue this can be the police, or just a friend you know owns/shoots guns.

How do you feel when the police helicopter keeps circling around your neighborhood?

To be on the safe side, I would call the non-emergency number, and ask if there is a problem in the area. If the Police were tracking someone, you should also see a lot of squad cars.

Do you feel safe around the police in the United States?

Rather than answer your question outright, let’s look at it from the perspective of who I feel less safe around than police in the USA.ThugsMobsCriminalsAggressive peopleAngry peopleMentally unstable peopleDrug usersDrug dealersDrunk driversTexting driversAggressive driversSleepy driversI don’t fear American police; however at times I’ve feared a ticket or arrest.

Do you wish to see more police inside of malls or anuement parks? Do you feel safer?

I wish to have police more inside malls because that's mostly where kidnappers and hold-uppers take in place. As for amusement parks, there should be security guards.

Why do I feel uncomfortable being around police officers when I have not done anything wrong?

This is a person who is armed, trained, and deals with bad individuals all day. They are the first person you see when you screw up that sets you straight. Because of this, it’s normal to be a little terrified. These are the type of people who can cause you grief if and when you break the law. What you need to remember is that this is not the only aspect of their job. They also investigate the crimes that are perpetrated on you. They return life to normal when it goes off course. They make it so you can sleep soundly knowing someone is out there taking the initiative to make our communities safer. These folks are people just like you. They have families, pay bills, have concerns, get ill, go to the dentist, and fart/burp/pee/defecate just like you do. They are human. Don’t let the uniform intimidate you, get to know these folks. You might just realize you like them.
