Do You Find Bad People/criminals More Intelligent Than Police

Who is more intelligent : The thief or the policeman?

In movies or fiction stories, well glamoured thiefs such as portrayed by George Clooney..wow! It may look absolutely fantastically amazing a thief like one..
But this is only a creative imagination of brilliant writers like a famous 'Lupin's thief story'..

Policemen and with the authorities through serious investigations oftenly prevail successfully on capturing their targets, the people who perpetrated a crime even if it takes longer time to, in reality.
Perhaps some could have possibly gotten away, but they have to hide all their life while living, when the law enforcers got these cases on their hands

Good day!

Who do you think are the most intelligent criminals of all time?

@ John P
Thanks for your answer and I agree with Jack the Ripper very much
Frank Abagnale Jr was a con man. He stole $2.6 million from 26 countries while posing as Pilot for Pan America, Lawyer and Doctor. Even though he knew nothing about the careers. He made millions of false checks where he spent several years running from the FBI who still were unable to catch him...think that's impressive. Get this, he did it before he was 19 years old. They made a film about him too, Directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank and Tom Hanks as the FBI Agent who has been ordered to capture him. The film is called "Catch Me if You Can".

That's why I say Frank is intelligent.

The other guy is Frank Morris.
He was sent to Alcatraz in 1960, here he spent two years digging a hole through a air vent behind his bed in his Prison Cell. He dug through here for two years, then built a raft out of, I think Prison clothes during the night, even though there were guard

Do you find bad people/criminals more intelligent than police?

I am feeling really creeped out now.
I just read this news in my country about this woman who killed 2 men, and the police still haven't captured her yet.
She did this under broad daylight too, with 20 cars honking at her but she still managed to get away with it............

The police doesn't even know how she looked like too, they only knew her car license number.
If she is clever enough, she would stop using that car or she would change away that license plate and she will never be found by the police!

Why are bad people/criminals so intelligent these days? They seemed even more intelligent than the police?!

Why do I only attract criminals and police officers?

well If you want to associate with a better class of people then perhaps you might want to reflect on your own image you put out. How do you dress, what are your girlfriends like. do you and your friends seam to go more for the bad boy image or a nice honest ,hard working guy who will maybe treat you like a real person and not some sex toy. You have to show that you are an educated woman and that you are not impressed with a guy who thinks being a tough guy is cool That will pretty much get the cops and bums away real fast. they don't want a woman who want a real life and wont seattle for less. There are a lot of real nice guys who want the same as you . Be polite and friendly. just be a friend first. Most police are not any smarter than the bad guys. Being a cop is a job for people who need job security and cant make it in the real world because they are bully's compulsive control freaks. Most do not have a good family life and friends outside there job. And see everyone else as inferior since they are above the laws.
How many cops do you know you really care about their oath to serve and protect.

Are there significant numbers of smart criminals who plan their crimes well enough to avoid being caught? Is it even possible to know? And if so, are these "smart criminals" restricted to certain crimes or types of crimes?

To answer your question, yes. The really good ones, we don’t know about, so the data is unavailable. But overall, for any repeat law-breaker, statistics will fall in favor of the law. You’ll want to differentiate “smart” from professional. I believe that the bulk of criminals that Tim Dees encountered were impulsive thugs and riff-raff. Likely high on drugs, or in between fixes and desperate. Even an intelligent person intoxicated with mind-altering chemicals will appear stupid, at best, to the average person.I’ve known a lot of burglars, robbers, drug dealers, etc. I lived with them for 4 years, and was a convicted robber myself. Most were uneducated. My last 2 years in prison, I was in Fire Camp - which is the creme de la creme of CA state prison. Even there, where they have to take a college-level course to become a certified wildland firefighter, the average education level was between 8–9th grade.Uneducated doesn’t mean stupid. I’ve seen guys transport drugs through multiple layers of security, turn a cd player into a tattoo gun and draw portraits that would put art teachers to shame.Myself, I was a petty bank robber (note bandit) and was never caught at the scene. I planed my robberies carefully, had getaways, contingency routes, etc. I was eventually caught by a tip to Crime Stoppers. What I had in book smarts, I lacked in street smarts (and told a few people what I was doing). Most criminals (especially addicts and career criminals) will get caught for something. It’s applying the law of large numbers. With the thrill, the ease, the adrenaline…chances are they are going to commit another, then another, until eventually, they are eventually caught. Some people will say that I’m stupid for robbing a bank, or committing a crime, or getting caught. That’s not necessarily true. I was wrong for doing those things, but the usage of the word “stupid” in that context is more opinionated than factual.

Are there more criminals than cops nowadays?

In human civilization across the time, always there were more criminals than cops. Deviance is a common trait in any society. Criminal deviance is a serious issue that determines the police: population ratio in any society. The quantum of crime REPORTED is the basis for determining the number of cops for the society. What about UNREPORTED CRIME?Latest news is that“India's ratio of 138 police personnel per lakh of population fifth lowest among 71 countries Data from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) shows that in 2013, India's ratio of 138 police personnel per lakh of population was the fifth lowest among the 71 countries for which the agency collated these figures.Experts argue that the Indian police system designed in 1861 was best suited for colonial rule and doesn't meet the requirements of a modern welfare state. The already understaffed system is also hit by many vacancies. The answer to a recent question in the Parliament reveals that as on January 2014, there was shortfall of 5.6 lakh police personnel against the sanctioned strength of 22.8 lakh or about 25 per cent vacancy.Unreported crime is the biggest iceberg that every society silent about because most of the reported crime (especially property offences) remains unreported.Imagine an ideal situation where all the crime happened in a society is reported to cops for taking action. In such a situation, at least a thousand fold increase in the existing number of cops will be a MUST to investigate all the reported crimes. This is an impossible situation. How to balance the ratio between the number of crimes Vs number of cops available. The number of crimes (reported) are always remains MORE than the number of cops available in that society.

Are criminals smarter than cops?

“Are criminals smarter than cops?”I would guess that among cops the average intelligence is noticeably higher than the average among criminals. But the standard deviation in intelligence is much, much higher among criminals. That is, if you plotted the intelligence of cops on a graph, most of the data points would congregate closely around the cop-average (e.g. 104 IQ). If you plotted the IQ of criminals, most would be below that — often well below that — but the data points would be scattered freely from moderately retarded to near genius.
