Do You Find It Weird That People Buy Duck Dynasty Toys

What are the most interesting ways in which people have become ultra wealthy?

Probably this guy. This is Noel Biderman, creator and former CEO of the popular cheating site Ashley Madison (“Life is short. Have an affair”).He's worth anywhere from $50 million - $100 million, and he created a website designed for people to have an affair, so I think he qualifies for this question.I'm pretty sure everyone knows about the hack in 2015 that exposed the names of 30 million users, leading to divorces, suicide, and resignations. Before the creation of his infamous company, he worked as a sports attorney, where a lot of his work dealt with helping professional basketball players judge their wives and mistresses. This, of course, ultimately gave him the idea for creating Ashley Madison. In 2014, the company was booming and made over $110 million in revenue. Biderman was an avid promoter, giving interviews on many outlets like Dr.Phil, and even wrote two books. Advertisements for Ashley Madison were known to be controversial (for good reason).Everything came crashing down when the hack happened. Millions had been exposed, including Biderman, in which emails of hacking competitors and creating an app where men rate each other's wives were shown to the public. The emails even showed that Biderman had multiple affairs with different women. Surprising, right?Even though this guy did some seriously questionable things, I think it's pretty impressive how successful he was with his business. Who knew there was such a large market for cheating?

American war films, propaganda?

For the most part, yes-the same goes for every country that has them as well too.

People often are mislead into thinking that the media is just for entertainment or advertising. That is false.

"A culture raised on Rambo, Indiana Jones, Luke Skywalker and James Bond wants to believe that combat and killing can be done with impunity-that we can declare someone the enemy and that for cause and country the soldiers will cleanly and remorselessly wipe him from the face of the earth. In many ways it is simply too painful for society to address what it does when it sends its young men off to kill other young men in distant lands."
-Lt. Col. David Grossman, "On Killing, The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society"

As a boy, myself and other boys loved playing with toy guns, army men and G.I.Joe. At the time it was all in good fun. Little did we know that true reason for this.

More so-it's not just military themed movies that instill a warring mindset in us-it's also violent movies in general-especially those geared toward sadistic violence such as the Saw and Hostel series. They desensitize us to horrible images and scenarios-all that we may be able to face them when we march off to war.

And it's not just toys and movies-video games and regular Television are also responsible.

Look at some of the highest rated games that have come out in recent years (I used to be a big gamer, sue me)-

Halo (all of them)
Medal of Honor (all of them)
Grand Theft Auto 4
Tom Clancey series
God of War I
God of War II

So you see, it's far larger than you suspected-and it shows the dismal path our society is limping towards.

What is the best thing to do when a grenade is thrown at you?

You need to take cover. Quickly look around you for a large, solid structure to hide behind, such as a tree, rock or wall, or a ditch or trench to jump into. If there is not enough time to get to one of these, then throw yourself to the ground and lie face down as flat as possible. The grenade fragments will be projected upwards and outwards, so lying flat with your face and chest shielded should protect you from most critical hits (unless the grenade lands on or beside you). As Kegon Teng Kok Tan points out, you should lie with your feet directed at the grenade (head pointing away), although that tends to be the natural orientation if you are running away from it.If possible, take note where the grenade lands, and act accordingly i.e. move as far away from it as possible, rather than just blindly panic, when you might be running right into the grenade without realizing it. You might even be able to throw it back, but only attempt this if you have a good guess for when the grenade pin was pulled (takes roughly 5 seconds to blow up), or if it lands extremely close to you (you're dead either way). Personally I wouldn't try this unless I saw the pin pulled and were feeling extremely ballsy.Grenades are most effective in enclosed spaces, where it is difficult to find cover or get out quickly. Otherwise they are intended mostly as a technique to scatter troops and induce disarray, rather than a direct intent to kill - soldiers running around panicking are relatively easy to pick off with a rifle.
