Do You Have Any Book Writing Tips

Good writing tips/books/help?

Do what every writer of every book you've ever loved did: go to the library.

For each book you want to write you have to read 200 other books. Learn from the best writers in the world.

Read how your favorite writers taught themselves.

Go to the 808 section, which has all the books on writing and publishing and read them. I went through that part of the library when I was just 14. It helped knowing that my favorite writers shared how they got published.

Ray Bradbury had little money and no computer, but he did have the library and spent hours there every day reading *everything*. He couldn't afford to buy a typewriter, so he used the one the library provided, renting it for 10 cents an hour.

He wrote Fahrenheit 451 that way. I bet it's one of the books taught in English classes at your school.

Nothing's changed for him. He reads every day; he writes every day.

That's why I do. I sold my first novel 20+ years ago, and I read and I write and I read and I write!

Writing tips for writing more?

Try to really place yourself in the setting and describe it as how the characters see it. I suppose how much that would help depends a lot of the setting, characters, and your personal style. The other strategy is to think about what complexities of the mood or character that you want to emphasize, but maybe haven't. All in all, make sure your new insertions flow well and not there just to bulk up your writing.

If all else fails, think of it as a light novella. Quality over quantity indeed.

Honestly, I'm not sure if this is just me, but I tend to skip over a lot of the minutia when reading.

I Need Writing tips.?

So I am an aspiring writer and right now i have two books in the works but i am having trouble trying to get them to paper. I have most of the characters planned out and but im trying to figure out the planning stage. Does anyone have any ideas on how to write a book, I would love to finish this book by the end of the summer. Any advice i would love to take. Also how would I make the characters more believable. Make them true

What are some book writing tips you would suggest?

Think of many ideas. Do you remember when you first fell in love? Well, as time passes, you discover that maybe the person wasn’t the right one. The same happen with ideas. The ones that stay, the ones that keep you awake at night, are the right ones.Learn the basics. Learn about good sentence structure, how to avoid cliches, how to create engaging characters, how to write gripping opening sentences, how to use all the senses, and all that (you can find this information in Google, Quora, anywhere).Read. 40% of the good sentences that I write, I learned them by reading. You will, too.Write. This is where most writers fail. They don’t start fucking writing. Just write. Your first work is gonna suck. That’s all right, because your future work will rock.Edit. Edit. Edit. This is probably the most important part. First write the first draft (just let the words flow and don’t stop for any reason). After that, edit the manuscript once. Then again and again and again. (It’s painful, but if you’re not a writing masochist, then maybe writing isn’t for you.)Get feedback/critiques. You can’t tell if you have a rash on your back (unless it hurts or itches like hell). Same with writing. No matter how many times you re-read your work, you’ll never find some flaws, because you’re already used to the piece. Get another set of eyes. (You can find/exchange here: Scribophile)Join writing/reading groups. For two reasons. One, you can discuss and learn about writing. Two, you can promote your work in those groups later. (I’m talking about Facebook groups, Goodreads groups, etc.)Exchange rating/reviews. The more rating/reviews your book has, the more readers you’ll attract. Find people who are willing to exchange them with you. (From the groups that you joined in the previous point.)Get published. You can send 20 letters to publishers and wait for years to get accepted, or you can just post your book to Amazon like I did (via Kindle Direct Publishing). That it is, buddy. And remember: you write a book because you want to tell a story/share an idea, not the other way around.

Anybody have any tips for writing a novel?

Yes I'm one of the thousands (if not millions) of teens who want to write a successful novel, but I'm going to do my hardest to make that dream come true. I have got an awesome idea, I just need to start. Anybody got some tips?

Fiction Writing-Tips From Other Writers?

Well it depends if your question is about finding ideas to write about or something else. I know writer's block has always been one of my greatest problems. When it happens, I usually just stop working and watch a movie or go on a walk.
Fiction writing is tough because you can run out of ideas whereas with non-fiction you have all the information right there.

By the way the best condition for writing, in my mind would be the place you are most comfortable and relaxed. I like to go to our cottage at the beach. It takes all the stressful thoughts out of my head.
Hope that helped!!!

Do you have any tips for someone who starts writing?

The best tip is just “write”. When you get an idea, write it down, when you feel like writing “write”. You may be wondering well what do I mean by that. I live by the philosophy that a writer stops being a writer they day they stop writing. The best writers take elements from their life, what they see, feel and just “put it down”. But here are somethings that may help you get started.Read… and read a lot: This not only helps expands your vocabulary but will also help you decide what kind of writing you want to do.Do things outside of your comfort zone: As I mentioned earlier many writers write based on their life experiences, but how can you do that if you aren’t willing to try new things. Try a new food, travel to a new location…you got a fear of heights? Who cares climb a mountain…how can you write effectively about feelings if you don’t know what the “feeling” truly feels like?Talk to people: You may be wondering, “how in the heck does this make me a better writer” simple…by listening to how people tell stories, by listening to how people really speak. This will help you create a more realistic narrative.Train your imagination: Dream and dream big…nothing is taboo…you think a space water buffalo can’t be turned into a good story? Well congratulations you just stunted your own growth.Read: I ended with this just as a began…a good writer reads a lot…how do you expand your vocabulary? how do you learn about the world? how do you create concepts? By expanding your mind and the best way to do this is by training your own mind.Hope this helps.
