I travel as part of my job as a process/chemical engineer. Its something I've always wanted to do, i travel at least once a month internationally which is manageable for me at the moment. Its not really the profession so much as what the role and company needs you to do as part of your job description. You can be an engineer sitting at your desk or an engineer in the field, your best bet would be to work for a large organisation such as Atkins, Amec, GE etc You can move around the organisation on secondments/placements for 6 months or whatever is available. If your imagining having plenty of time exploring and getting to know the country then … i’m afraid its highly unlikely; the company sends you there to work and not to have a holiday. Still you do get to see some stuff and you get to work with different cultures which is actually really fun with a dash of awkwardness! Assuming your hosts are friendly and outgoing you are likely going have fun evenings, but your mornings and afternoons will be full of the usual work but with a foreign wist.I’m going to guess you want a lot of freedom but don’t want to sacrifice the good salary, i think software engineers/ programmers, CAD engineers who just need their laptop and a few other gadgets can freelance (self employed) and take contracts for an hourly fee so you can travel and work anywhere without many site visits. If i’m honest i could do 60% of my job with my laptop; he rest is just team meetings, visiting a plant or process to assess operations etc. Thinking about it now most of my team meetings are via Skype so maybe more like 70%.Things you need to consider when you travel:Social Life; it takes a hit, its hard to socialise in a foreign land unless you’re there long term, social media is just not the same.Family/Relationships: You won’t see your family that much it could make it difficult for you’re other half. There’s Probably more, but that’s all i can think for now. In My opinion its worth travelling at least for a year or so.

Well there are plenty of ideas related to electrical engineering or any other domain as a matter of fact, but do you really expect that someone will just share an "idea" with you and you will very cunningly establish a business on the same principle & quickly succeed? It is not that simple!A mere idea is not enough to start a business. You need to find solutions to existing problems, find more efficient methods of doing certain tasks & have to take a myriad of other parameters into consideration. From my minuscule entrepreneurial experiences I can tell you that "if there is an idea somewhere out there, you probably will fail to exploit it and leverage from it financially. Because if it is out there somewhere, someone is already making use of it" Your idea has to be either original or derived from some other idea.Nonetheless, to answer your question I will list some of the good sectors under electrical engineering on which business can flourish in the next five to ten years.I) 3-D Printing (less capital, advance technology) II) Smart Grid & Home automation  (moderate capital, advance technology) III) Energy trading/Power exchange & IPPs (Individual Power Producers)   (huge capital, moderate technology) IV) Foot-Step & staircase power generation (less capital, basic technology) V) Industrial automation (moderate capital, moderate technology) VI) Consumer products (huge capital, advance technology)VII) Hybrid electric & full electric vehicles (huge capital, very advance technology)VIII) Educational sector (Project management, Educational & training courses)  (less capital, basic expertise)

Imagine the invasion of an immensely powerful alien race, perfected in computational prowess and tireless in work ethic. At your utmost surprise, this race is conpletely docile, and has declared the human its master, available to accomplish nearly any informational bidding you are able to conjour. There are people that have been made aware of this alien race and have learned its language of communication. They have built countless tools to expand the possibility and improve the efficiency of the human race. And there are those who refuse to believe the world has changed, frustrated by the shrinking set of opportunity available. The aliens have no emotion or agenda. Their ability is available for your utilization. Nobody is forcing you into a particular career but remember that ultimately you are competing for resources that are controlled by people whom have power augmented by this magical race.
