Do You Have Official Names .

What is the official name of our solar system?

Technically “our solar system” is a pleonasm, as there is really only one Solar System. So yes, that’s its name, and should hence be capitalized. Many people—physicists even—sometimes refer to other such systems as “solar systems”, but that makes no sense. Solar = pertaining to the Sun. Stellar = pertaining to a star. So you would think perhaps other systems like the Solar System are stellar systems, but that’s not exactly right.A stellar system or star system is a small number of gravitationally bound stars, but when a stellar system also hosts planets, it’s called a planetary system. So the Solar System is one of many planetary systems.

Does the universe have an official name?

Much like the sun’s name is The Sun and the moon’s name is The Moon our universe is named: The Universe. These things can become named after themselves because in all of human history and experience we only have one relevant example of each of these. No matter who is talking, when they are talking about, or where they are talking about, if they say ‘moon’ or ‘sun’ you know exactly which one they are talking about. This is because there is only one that is relevant to us as Humans. It’s the same for the Universe! If you were to say ‘universe’ in any context everyone would instantly know which one you are talking about. The Universe, our universe, the one we live in and are made out of and the only one that we can see.If that ever changes then those other suns, moons, and universes will have to get their own names, and the originals will still be named after themselves.

If the official name of the The Sun = Sol, The Earth = Terra, and The Moon = Luna, why do people still call them the Sun, Earth, and Moon?

Sorry, that’s incorrect. The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has declined to rule on official names for the Sun, Earth, and Moon, given that many peoples have their own culturally significant names for these bodies.Sol, Terra, and Luna are the Latin names of the Sun, Earth, and Moon, respectively, but in no way are they official. People still call them the Sun, Earth, and Moon, because those are the English names, and some people speak English.

Crotch Rockets: Their official name??????

Sportbike. The non riding types or barely able to handle horse power and good handling types call them "rice burners, rice rockets, donorcycles, jap crap, etc. When you ride a lame 700 pound 35 HP turd that might manage 100mph down hill with a tail wind, and a semi pushing it you have to resort to name calling.

Is there a movement to give an official name to the sun and the moon?

For the sun, the moon, and our planet, the proper nouns Sol, Luna, and Terra are commonly used. (There are may other names, but these will suffice.)You and I live on “the Earth” (or “Terra”), which orbits “the Sun” (or “Sol”, in the center of our “Solar System”), and which has one natural satellite (“Luna” or “the Moon”).There is no reason for anybody to organize a “movement” to invent new names for these (nor is there a need for some government or agency to dictate “official’ names for commonly-known things).Nevertheless, from OUR perspective, here on “Earth” or “Terra Firma” or whatever you prefer to call the ground under your feet (and its gravitational field, which keeps you from flying off into space and attracts the atmosphere you breathe), there is only one “sun” visible in the daytime sky (and only one star that provides you with significant insolation); there is never more than one “moon” visible at night. Therefore, there is no need to create a “movement” to create any additional names?

Do street legal dirt bikes have an official name? if so what is it? and which ones are the most efficient?

There are four “classes” that cover off-road capable bikes that are road legal (some more biased one way or the other).

Enduro – very close to motocross but with lights little concession to comfort.

Trail bikes – aka dual purpose.

Supermotos – trail bikes with road-sized wheels and road biased tyres

Adventure – designed for long treks including some off-road (Long Way Round) some look the part but are not off-road capable (beyond a gravel path) – these will be outside your budget.

Try to find an XT350, a DRZ400, a DT125R, XT125, KLR125, KMX125, PE175 – all old enough to fit in your budget (if you are lucky) all to some degree capable off road.
