Do You Have To Audition For Disneyland

Disneyland character audition question?

Person who posted before me is wrong. You DO NOT have to be a "fuzzie", that's not even what their called. They are called Character Performers. Do not waste your time calling that job-line she gave you, that's for other non-entertainment jobs. This is what the website does, and this is what my friend did( He's now Aladdin.)

Go to disneyauditions.com or the second link i referenced. It post all upcoming auditions related to Disney Parks and Ships in any way. They don't cast like, " Hey ya know I really want to be Sleeping Beauty, here's my info let me know when I can be her." or " Hey I want to be Sleeping Beauty let me just audition for her."

They audition for specific roles when they are casting them. Right now, they are casting for main street electrical parade on April 25th, go the website and AUDTITION, because sometimes they do put Cinderella's step-sisters in their parades. APRIL 25th at 9:00 am, GO there! It looks like an open casting. Check the website, and if you can't find what you are looking for THAN and only THAN call the job hot-line for extra info.

Best of luck to you, and I hope the next time I'm there, I see you walking around as a step sister asking, " Have you seen a Prince?" Cause that's what they ask. I go there. A lot. :D

They are very specific for height and weight requirements for there roles. And even in this economy they are hiring, all the time, that person should check their facts with the company's website before offering help.

Should I shave/wax my chest for my Aladdin audition at Disneyland?

I have an audition next week at Disneyland for Aladdin. I'm the right height, and I have a relatively dark complexion but I am a 26 year old man so I have hair on my chest. I looked up a bunch of pictures of Aladdin online and they all seem to have hairless chests. I know its just an audition, but if it between me and someone else that DID, maybe they'd take him. I'd especially like to hear from cast members, and if there is an Aladdin out there I'd really like to hear from you.

Any Tips for a Face Character Audition at Disneyland?

it is very competitive. honestly thats all i need to say:) when you get there, if its an open call audition, there will be people who will have been there very long. when i went to my audition, the sign in time was 8:30am, but i got there at 6am. The earlier you are there the better. Also, try to get within the first 5, if you can get number 1 you have a good chance. the thing is that when michael, the big character audition boss, calls numbers and so early in the morning, you start seeing duplicates of things and gets tired of it and dismisses you, you dont want that. anyway there are many many people there.

in august i am going for snow white, and what i have done to get more like her was watch her movie over and over again. actually, this might sound funny but on your training day if you get the character, you watch your characters movie, with the rest of the people who are playing that character for the first time too, and you get paid for it:)

the first cut is all made on LOOKS. even if you fit within height range, they only really judge on looks. also they really look at you to see if you can play other characters too. i know a girl who plays, ariel, aurora, belle, and a couple fur characters. you have to look like others. many think that you need to be super skinny to do this but actually disney hates anorexic looking people, they want them to look natural. whatever you do , just dont come in with a bunch of makeup or have a shirt on with the princess you want to be, it irriatates them.

i wish you good luck, and dont take it too hard on yourself, if you dont make it. many people walk out crying, but just remember dreams come true, and especially if you keep reaching for your goals and dreams. i did:)

Do the Disneyland face characters have a chance to audition for live-action Disney films? For example, did Disneyland’s Gaston audition for the film?

Are you asking if the character cast members get some sort of first shot at auditioning for the films the studios make that might also have that particular character in them? No. Park Operations have essentially zero to do with Studio operations, and even Studio Operations do not get all that involved with casting films. The film makers cast the films. There might be some strategic input on the part of Studio Execs, but that’s going to generally be limited to a consult and advise relationship. The cast members have exactly the same shot as any other actor. They are certainly free to try to get an audition should casting the role not be part of a greater deal.

How do I stand out at a Disney casting audition to become a face performer at a park?

Honestly, it’s better if you don’t. Because you’re going to be just one of the people playing a single character. What they want, is for you to look, act as similar as possible to the other actors playing that character. Disney wants to uphold the illusion that you are that character and having it look or act different every time someone sees it would ruin that. However if you want to have higher chances of getting casted, you should train your acting, as well as staying calm. A Disney princess f.e. is not allowed to act out of character at all. They have to talk to everyone, they have to always act nice. It’s actually a very straining job. You should also maybe train answering questions you might be asked, since you aren’t allowed to lie, no matter what questions you are asked. So maybe learn how to avoid saying the truth to some questions. To get chosen you have to go through multiple tests, there should be a list or something of them online. Just look it up and prepare yourself for all of them. Then you really only have to impress them with your acting at the audition with. I hope that’s atbleast somewhat helpful.

How difficult is it to be a face character at Disneyland?

Question addressed: “How difficult is it to be a face character at Disneyland?”I do not know for certain, but I imagine that the requirements are very similar at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.Since you are being hired for a specific, “role,” you must fit the specifications for the character. You cannot exceed the weight requirement, height, requirement, and must fit other proportions including hair style. As a “face,” character, you must not break character, you are required to know and review all aspects of your character, such as re-watching the movie your character is based on, regularly, so you can mimic his (or her comportment, style, and characteristics. It is enjoyable interacting with face characters, but you realize after only a short conversation, that it can be very stressful to maintain your character completely, even under all circumstances.

Do you need a high school diploma to work at Disneyland? ?

I don't believe a diploma is a requirement, especially if you're still in school. You would need a work release permission slip I believe.

You would also have to audition to work in the Character department, and where you are placed depends mainly on height and appearance. Unfortunately, Disney does not appear to be having any Character auditions in the near future for its California park.

How old do you have to be to audition to be a character at Disneyland?

I'm pretty sure it's 16 for CA as well for certain roles. I think the characters need to be 18 (it's 18 for characters on the Cruise line), but I think 16 year olds can do the parades and shows...but I'm not positive on that. I'd keep checking the audition site and when they list the Disneyland CA auditions for Character/Look-a-Like performers, they have the requirements on there. Right now, Disneyland is only having auditions for the all-american college band, so that doesn't really help.

And a friend of mine has auditioned for Disneyland characters and she says it's A LOT of waiting around and they take you in large groups, look at you, and say "numbers 1, 2, and 3 over here, everyone else over there" or whatever. So be prepared to audition more than once if you need to, and for a bit of waiting around.
