Do You Have To Snitch Out A Friend If Police Ask You

Do you have to snitch out a friend if police ask you?

Pretty much, If your friend commits a crime and police know that person is your friend, are you required by law to tell them who it is? Or can you use your 5th ammendment right to remain silent.

What about if you are taken to court, does the judge have the right to charge you with anything if you refuse to talk, to protect your friend whom they know you are antiquated with

Should I snitch on my friend?

that...is hard.
but yes.
it's hard because the police have a lot of important things to do like solve rapes, murders, etc. but a crime is a crime.
and a teen getting drunk is illegal and she could die if she goes over the legal limit. and if they're too drunk to even know their name, how could he/she defend him/herself?
so yeah, tell on them. and if they don't like it then she's not a true friend. you are, because if you tell on the cops you were thinking of their safety, not just to snitch.
but maybe tell their parents instead than the police cuz the police will just take them while their parents will talk to them about the consequences

Can the police arrest you if you don't snitch for them?

In a way, yes. Some Confidential Informants (CIs) do it out of civic duty or for the money, but most do it to work off a case.Say that you’re arrested for drug possession, but the cops want your dealer and aren’t really interested in you. So you agree to be a CI in exchange for consideration toward your possession case (usually you get no time if you put in good faith effort to live up to your side of the deal). So, if you renege on the deal, then your original arrest is still in the balance, and you will be arrested for possession of illegal drugs, your original charge. One might say “I got arrested because I wouldn’t snitch”, but it’s just shorthand that leaves out a very important step in the whole arrest equation.

Would you snitch on your parents to the police if you knew they were doing something illegal?

It depends on what they were doing. If they were running a meth lab, spying for Russia, aiding ISIL or al Qaeda, in possession of automatic weapons and explosives, or involved in human trafficking, I sure would. If it were growing and selling marijuana, pirating cable, illegally downloading music for free, gambling, bootlegging, smuggling cigarettes, smuggling fireworks, or tearing the tags of on mattresses, I’d have to say no. Hell, these are things I do or have done.Other things I’d have to think about. I mean, I have friends that are prostitutes but I wouldn’t want my parents involved.

In this case, would you snitch?

It's not snitching. It is bringing justice to the good (better people, by the means no one is perfect) and putting the worse people behind bars. I would help solve their murders if I were there to witness it, but I would make sure that no crips would be on my *** knowing I was the one who did.

Would you snitch on the guys who killed your best friend knowing they might get someone to kill you if you do?

If it was inevitable for them to get someone to kill me, like if they knew i was the ONLY one who saw it I would probably not snitch. Or I would wait a while and work with the police to come up with a false story so they don't suspect me, like video cameras caught them or something.

If it was inevitable for them to try and get someone to kill me i probably wouldn't report them to the police, one person already died why make it another? Sure her mother gets closure, but at what cost? The cost of another.

How much do snitches get paid a friend of mine said the?

"Let the punishment fit the crime, and let the information fit the dime." Informants are a vital link to ongoing, criminal enterprises, and though there are a variety of reasons that people inform on other people (revenge, for example), money can be a crucial incentive. There are federal, state, and local monies available. Some drug informants in Florida in the 80's made millions of dollars by pedaling their information.

Am i a snitch??????????????/?

My Friend is gangster and shot a cop and his name is john, he came runnin to my house and told he was going to hide in the bathroom but to not tell no one. i said okay the cops came out of now where and ask if any guy name john has come in here i said no and the cops said are you sure i said yeah i am sure, i am 100% percent john is not hiding in my bathroom with the doors lock. the cops arrest him and he called me a snitch but i told him i didnt snitch

am i a bad or a snitch

Can cops force me to be snitch?

Informing is an option for people who need some help mitigating their case, for a reduction in time served or reduced penalty. In many cases you might be surprised that cops won't allow some people to become informants due to the nature of their pending case. That goes for crimes against children and spousal abuse cases. Don't think for one minute that if a cops or prosecution offers you an opportunity to inform that their case against you is weak. Usually we are looking for a bigger fish in the sea.If you are considering about becoming an information be aware of the different ways you can "work off a beef". If you follow instructions and read the "Confidential Informant Agreement" you will know exactly what you may and may not do while working under the police supervision. What most people don't know about informants is that they are technically an employee of the agency and, if injured, may be entitled to worker's compensation benefits. Be sure that you are working with well trained professional law enforcement officers if you decide to become a registered informant. There are things you might do the would require you to testify in open court. There are ways that local and state police officers may keep you out of court using your information that leads them to the issuance of search warrants for the suspects they have targeted. Others who inform for monetary compensation are known as mercenaries. We (cops) use them frequently but always double and triple check their information and their motivation.
