Do You Like My Writing Style

What is your writing style?

Writing is a process and not an event. Its a daily ritual that needs a quirk, allows a writer's block and you are accepted if you are conceptually wrong but grammatically correct. Comprehension is important but grammar is smirked at, if wrong. My process is very simple.Choose your topic, if you are not given a topicResearch on the topicWrite an outline on the topicDraft the copyProof read the copy twice , but only if you have taken a break after drafting the copyProof-read, edit and revise the draft.Submit the final copy .

How do I know what my writing style is?

The simplest way is to read it aloud. Compare to others like favorite authors. It is going to seem obvious who says what how. The reader identifies with the protagonist, for example, while the writer synchs with the author. This is going to be built on a number of things. The audience is whose ear they want to keep. They learned particular approaches. Their culture has certain types of literature. Dialects are spoken at the time. Events have reactions. There are the significant themes that represent the human condition. They are at the end of long traditions. The writers have a common set of rules that form the period. They pay attention to certain elements. The style arcs over their lifetime. There are the mediums of the day as well as the forms or genres. Editors may emphasize certain things. Critics are defining the movements. Apps can be used for analytics down to the proportions of sentence structure. The writer can vary their style to sound like someone else if they are making a point, e.g. having a couple of perspectives duke it out like the literary ages were confronting one another. Contrast Shelley to Hemingway to DF Wallace, for instance. The author may also take something a lot further and define new ground. Or they may knock out their favorites and work with what is left in order to be experimental. They can then go to any of these on demand. It also shifts their perception in terms of  how they listen or read. This way they can appreciate anyone else's view while maintaining their own intact. Similarly for changing the additional versions of their own pieces. This all then disappears into the art so the reader gets through it smoothly without knowing what held their attention because it was so fresh.Or they can listen to another sountrack in the background while in composition so that the mood is going to be adapted.

Did you change your writing style any for your books and do you have tips for improving writing style?

With each of my novels, I strive to elevate my writing and character development. I believe that I’ve done that with SOME WOMEN, and I hope my readers will feel the same way. Beyond that, as I’ve experienced different milestones and stages in my own life, my books have evolved along with me. For example, now that I’ve been married for eleven years and have two kids, the issues inherent in this phase are what I think and write about. I set out to compose a story that would be both engrossing and thought provoking. I wanted to examine the intricacies of marriage, friendship, and the power of unexpected connections. That said, the bookI’m writing now—my sixth—will be unlike my other novels. It’s a little edgier.More serious, if you will. My hope is that it will appeal to my readers, in addition to a wider fiction audience. My suggestion in trying to improve your writing would be to take your time. Think about the words you’re choosing and the plot you’re building. Everything you put on paper should have a reason for being there, whether it’s a backstory or a seemingly innocuous anecdote. You might also consider signing up for writing classes or groups. Feedback from both professionals and peers can be invaluable.

What do you think about J.K. Rowling's writing style?

What I love about her books is that she really gives you a sense of literally everything. She tells you how people speak and how they move, and her characters are more than figments of her imagination, they're people that, because of how she has written them, cause the audience to invest in them. Her style is very effective and really makes you forget that it's a book.
